We arrived late at night, due to the plane's late arrival. Having notified the staff, they gave us a detailed explanation how to enter the premises after hours. Allthough we did not expect it, a late evening snack had been provided in our room, which was quite welcome. Next day we got treated on an excellent combination of buffet style breakfast and table service in a wonderful setting. Do not go to the trouble of looking to find somewhere to eat the first days of your stay as the hotel's chef is really set up to provide you with delicious meals and treats.

let me think ........ i cannot find anything. The location and staff exceeded all our expectations. The staff in particular succeeded in giving us that feeling of "being at home, away from home.

From the moment we arrived we felt very welcome and we were blown away by the stylish interior and incredible views. A stunning place to relax and a great base to explore the island of Madeira from.

A stunning house, beautifully restored and decorated. A gorgeous location with views out to sea. Delicious food - breakfast was the right amount and the dinner was high quality. It was nice to see some alternative options on the menu, different to the local restaurants. Restaurant staff were charming. The room was beautiful - classic decor creating a very romantic vibe. The balcony although small was the cherry on the cake!

The only downside is the car park which is pretty tight to get into, but there is an ‘overflow’ one just down the road which is easier.

Small quiet hotel with friendly staff. Nice view, gorgeous building and very delicious breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful. The poolside is a great place for a pre-dinner cocktail.

My room only had a tiny window high up, fortunately I don't spend much time in the room other than sleep so I didn't mind too much. The bathroom has a lovely large window with a nice view. Aside from 3 restaurants at the bottom of the mountain and a small beach there is nothing else within walking distance.

The breakfast was lovely (fresh and delicious food + really nice staff), the reception staff was really helpful and nice (proactive). The rooms are not big, but beautifully decorated and comfortable. the views are superb. The location is on a hill (so prepared for some hill-side-driving), but there is a comfortable parking lot near the hotel you can use, which makes it really easy.

we would have loved some indication which rooms to book so they would be close together. This is something to ask before booking. Although it is a small hotel, so it does not matter that much.

We loved this place! Everything was beautiful and put together with care. The check in was personal, giving us each a local treat and a drink while checking in after a long day of travel was so nice! We found a personally handwritten note in our room, a nice touch, and we had a wonderful view of the town and and the ocean, with so many windows to open and get a nice breeze. We had a little balcony to sit on and enjoy our wine or coffee in the fresh air it was so nice! All the staff here and fantastic, responsive, friendly and kind. So welcoming. The bar tender (I wish I remembered his name, a young man with young children, was so easy to chat with. Very friendly and his service was spot on. The area outside was perfect to relax with a drink, take a swim, and eat meals.

Unfortunately our shower floor was not tilted properly toward the drain, so overflowed and leaked no matter what we tried to prevent it. Nothing to be fixed quickly, it needs to be be redone which is a project. I had just done the big pico to pico hike and I am out of shape so my leg muscles were in pain! For this reason the location, set on a steep hill was difficult for me to manage, so if you have any handicap or bad knee, etc, walking to town might be quite a task. It isn't far! just very steep!

The staff were brilliant and very accommodating with lots of attention to their guests. Everything was explained nicely including the history of Zino. Recommendation to visit the Banana Museum is a plus. Who knew what was behind the humble banana and its history in Madeira. Wonderful views, lovely pool and most of all very tranquil and spotless. We recognise how hard the staff works to make their guests stay special.

Really it was all fantastic. The pillows were too big however at least for my liking and I did suggest an alternative pillow on reserve in the closet for sensitive souls such as myself.

loved the beds! Slept so comfortably. Very quiet and relaxing. The pool and the view from it were spectacular. Loved that it felt like we were out away from the bustle of the city. Everyone who works here was so kind. Shoutout to V, makes the best mojitos and best salmon sandwiches!! Also gave us great hike and beach recommendations as well! We had the best time and will definitely be back

Breakfast was an excellent lot of choice, good fresh local produce lovely location outside and very friendly helpful staff particularly liked the times which was up to 12 so no rush to get up or staff clearing tables around you. We had dinner one night which was also very good - outside well spaced tables and a very relaxed feel. All staff were very friendly and helpful., provided good information about the local area and sorted out taxis for the evening. I mentioned casually to the waiter at breakfast that was my husband's birthday the following day and they gave him a small card and a little cake. in the morning so lots of nice touches like that.

The room was very comfortable well furnished with lovely views but it was called a suite - it was not, just a large room. The balcony was tiny which was a bit deceiving, as the photo indicated a large balcony for the sea view suite I booked - but this was another room. There is a large electricity cable running along which does impact the view a bit, but generally very beautiful with mountains, ocean and banana plantations

The main thing was the staff - particularly the young man working each evening. He couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant - he's a real asset to the business. It's a gorgeous hotel, and whilst the food offered in the evening might be of a limited range, it's high quality and well-priced, as are the wines. The terrace is a lovely place to sit and eat, and the room was spot on as well - modernly decorated but with real character.
