Park Hotel Porto Gaia

The staff was extremly friendly and welcome upon my arrival at the hotel. I have selected a specified check-in, however, I arrived earlier in Porto since my Alfa Pendular met the scheduled arrival time. Even tho, they checked me in an hour before my requested time and didn't charge any extra. The hotel location (Coimbrões) can offer a vast number of buses and trains to Porto-Campanhã or Gaia. You can do a 20 minutes walk to Gaia-Devesas station, which isn't that far from the hotel.

I didn't spend much time at the hotel to find out some bad aspects that could impact my experience. The only thing that comes to my mind is that you can't change the room temperature at all.

the breakfast was served from 6/30 - 12 pm, which was great - as I was attending an event and had late mornings. the reception is 24/7 and even though iron isn't part of the room, they're happy to borrow it for a 5e deposit. the breakfast buffet is large and varied enough for most diets except very strict ones; the recommendation would be to add no gluten products and non-dairy milk.

the rooms could be a bit bigger, and include a bottle of water, a kettle, mugs, teas and wooden spoons, as these are regulars at hotels. a small bottle of water 0,5l is 2,50e from the machine; the hotel doesn't sell 1l ones so make sure you get them from nearby ALDI or gas station 24/7. the check-in process took a while, we arrived around midnight, and to be fair we asked for a twin room instead of a double, but a mistake was made so we had to move once again. however, they manage to accommodate requests. some of the rooms look onto the motorway, if you prefer quiet sleep, request a quiet room in advance.

The location is incredible, being really close to town but super accessible if you're coming from Lisbon through the A1 road. The parking space was sufficient, and I didn't have to swipe a card or anything to get in there. My favourite thing was that you can take breakfast until 12! Usually hotels close it way earlier, and I'm on holidays so I'm bound to go to bed late. So this was a very pleasant surprise.

It wasn't really a problem in my stay, but you can hear the corridor from your bed. Fortunately everyone was quiet <3

The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The products supplied in the bathroom smelt very nice. The room was serviced every morning. I appreciated the block-out light curtains. The hotel is within walking distance to a laundry service and to a train station.

I travelled on my own and stayed in a superior suite on the first floor. I thought the noise coming from reception was a problem. If guests arrived in the late evening, you could hear the noise coming from the floor. So basically, noise is an issue if you are staying on the lower floors.

The value for money was very good. The room was clean and comfortable and the towels were changed everyday which surprised us. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast choices were fine. Good bus connections to the city.

The location is out of the city centre and there are no local restaurants open in the evening. However, this wasn’t a major issue because we used UBER to go into Porto. The bar and restaurant were not open in the evening.

Check was easy and the young trainee was very pleasant and helpful. The room was small but contained almost everything we need. (Would have liked a small fridge). The beds were made and the towels were changed every day. The soundproofing was wonderful, we never heard a sound from outside. The beds and pillows were very comfy, we had a great nights sleep. The breakfast was excellent so much choice and beautiful fresh food, well worth the €9.50 Car parking directly outside hotel.

Only a fridge in the room would have improved it for us.

Staff were friendly and helpful. A good selection for breakfast. Clean and functional room with table and chairs. Free parking adjacent to the hotel.

No restaurant in the hotel, only vending machines - not so nice if you arrive late in the evening as we did. There is a fast food restaurant a few metres away if desperate.

Room was excellent. Staff very helpful. Location was perfect for my meetings. I often stay here when my trip does not require me to be in the centre.

Not the easiest to find the entrance. Needs more signposting after leaving the main road. Breakfast area is uninviting (which did not matter for this trip)

if you don't have a car, consider a good 30'-40' to get to the city center every time. Breakfast is decent but not much variety
