Hesperia Barcelona Presidente

- Location is very central, right on Avinguda Diagonal, near supermarkets, shops, restaurants, laundry facilities and buses. Very safe neighborhood. - Helpful receptionist, which was able to assist us in changing room when our first one had a sewage smell issue. Also gave us complimentary breakfast! - Accessibility: ramp for luggage, walk-in shower, elevator - Cleanliness - Very spacious room for Europe - Shower pressure and hot water on point - Wifi is decent - Nice breakfast buffet Overall good value for money. Would consider booking here again.

- Our first room had an unbearable sewage smell, which was lingering, but also would become more pungent at times. It was impossible to even accommodate to. We were told it was a common problem in Barcelona. Thankfully, the helpful receptionist was able to assist us in changing rooms, and we were given complimentary breakfast. That was greatly appreciated! The new room did not have the smell issue. - Hotel and rooms are a bit outdated. Carpets definitely would need to be changed.

Extremely well placed, friendly staff, nice city view and decent breakfasts.

Very comfortable main bed. Excellent location, friendly staff, clean rooms. The room was a Junior Suite with a second bed. However this was slightly exaggerated. The second bed was a sofa fold-out and was not very comfortable. Also, the suite was divided in spaces, not separate rooms, by dividing-barriers rather than an actual wall. This should be communicated in the advertising online. The hotel decor could be a little dated, but it is value for money.

Everything from check in to check out was wonderful. Front desk staff are incredibly nice and helpful and even let me practice my Spanish with them (despite they spoke perfect English). The room was a great size for our 4 day stay with good aircon, comfortable bed, and strong water pressure. It's not in the high tourist area so it's quiet and nice to explore the neighborhood. Easy enough to get to more tourist areas when you want to.

If your doing tourist things, it's a little far to get back for a siesta unless you plan to stay in the neighborhood for the rest of the evening. Can be a lot of time to go back and forth multiple times. But the neighborhood is lively and fun so no need to really go back to La Rambla.

The location is excellent, it is so easy to get to everywehre. We really loved our stay there.

It was kinda annoying when i was exercising in the gym and opened the windows for fresh air then i just had to inhale the smoke of cigerettes. Please move the smoking area somewhere else.

The hotel has really generous proportions and classy fittings. The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom was nicely equipped and spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Common spaces were a little weathered but well kept and quite grand.

Our open plan bathroom was a little more "romantic" than I'd made provisioned for; frosted glass pane right alongside the bed (not ideal for two friends sharing a room). And the outside terrace felt a little neglected; could have done with some fresh furniture and a daily sprucing to allow guests to take in the view more comfortably. It felt more like a smokers deck.

Breakfast was excellent. Good variety, frequently refreshed items, rapid clearing of used dishes, friendly staff. Never seemed too crowded. Room was fine. Nice firm bed, good lighting options, most excellent forceful shower, plenty of hot water. One of best ever had. Generally quiet, but a fair amount of door slamming. Fast elevators. Reception desk personnel were quite friendly, available and cooperative, especially Alex who guided us directly to a restaurant. Plenty of reasonably priced and variety of restaurants near hotel, Europa was particularly enjoyable. very good food, service and ambience.

Getting tickets for cable car was not done correctly at the desk and resulted in a fair amount of problems in getting down mountain and finding taxi. Referral to restaurant first night at desk was only so-so and seemed like there was perhaps a deal between hotel and restaurant. No big issue however. Not enough (2) English channels on cable. A few more would have been nice.

I really loved the breakfasts at the hotel - they were exquisite. The location was great, as well as the quality of service. The hotel management was nice and accommodating. We had some luggage that wasn't used during our first stay at the hotel (we were going on a cruise and would later come back to the hotel before going back home). The staff gladly took the bags and kept them by the counter, which made our stay more comfortable. We also had an early checkout before breakfast time, so the staff gave us all to-go breakfast bags we could take with us to the airport.

The building, albeit well kept, is quite old. Nonetheless, the overall experience of staying at Hesperia Presidente easily compensated the fact that the hotel had seen some days.

The property is very well located. Not far from the train station, not far from the main attractions. Although the windows don’t oversee La Rambla for example, you don’t feel you’re living in the outskirts. We also had a nice view from the windows on the 11th floor

There was no place for hanging up your wet towels for them to dry. The toilet was the most embarrassing thing: no toilet brush, no hygienic shower. How is one supposed to clean off the residue after going to the toilet? I was feeling terribly uncomfortable. This can an should be changed as this is supposed to be a romantic place for couples.

This is a great hotel, excellent location for an abundance of different restaurants in the vicinity, extremely spacious rooms and beautiful lobby. Last but not least: very friendly and professional staff. We came in with a lot of luggage and the receptionist (not bellboy) came running to help us. You don't see that often. Kudos! The shower is truly a dream with strong jets, a rainshower and a handheld shower. Pity that some water always gets out so prepare a towel on the entrance in order not to have your bathroomfloor flooded.

Minibar was not stocked, so no cold beer after a long day of travelling. There were some funky spots on the carpet, a cotton stick in a corner in the bathroom and a small (medicine?) box under the bed.
