Hotel 54 Barceloneta

The location is perfect: 1 min by foot from the beach, supermarkets, restaurants, and bars. Additionally, the harbor is 2 mins by foot away and the shopping street and city center 15 mins by foot. The room was quite small but very clean and has a little balcony. We did not really care about the size of the room as we were outside the whole day. At first I thought that the room will be very loud at night due to the busy street next to the hotel. This was not the case. The rooftop bar is very impressive and even if the bar is closed, hotel guests can access the rooftop and have their own drinks there at night. The view exceeded my expectations. What is more, the prize is very good compared to other accommodations you get in that area. A few months ago we were in the same area in an apartment booked via airbnb for the same prize, which was not satisfying at all. Other apartments are so much more expensive and do not have the service the hotel provides. The staff was very friendly and happy to help. At first I was insecure and hesitated while booking after reading a few negative comments and non-recommendations. However, I do not understand as the hotel was very good for that prize and did not align with the negative comments.

The room does not have many opportunities to dry your beach towels and swimwear. The walls are quite thin and we could hear our neighbors when they listened to music (this was during the day time only).

Really great location. Staff was helpful and super friendly. Rooms were nice too, and were kept clean. Would've wanted more homely touches. in the room maybe! The balcony doors are really good, shutting most noise out of the busy city outdoors.

Other rooms next door were noisy at times which was frusta=rating, as I couldn't sleep very well on two of the nights. When asking where to go, staff weren't very helpful - I expected more to make my stay stress free, but they kept showing me maps the I couldn't see as I am blind.

The breakfast was good. Lots of variety. The location is close to the beach and a variety of public transportation. I am not in perfect health, but I was able to walk to La Sangria Familia from the hotel without breaking a sweat. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I love the terrace on top floor as well.

I unfortunately had to book at the last minute so the price was a lot more than I am accustomed to paying. However, I can't say for certain it is normally that price, or because of being at the last second and the area having limited availability. If it normally is cheaper, then it is a more fair price.

Perfect location to enjoy beach and night life within a short walk. The rooms are bare-basic but the essential is taken care of: the bed is a cloud to sleep in, the shower is large, with ample water pressure and temperature range, the windows insulation cancel the noise of the busy street, both minibar and breakfast offer a friendly choice of options. The staff is prompt, courteous and welcoming at every hour of the day.

It’s a pity they’re not making the most of the beautiful rooftop terrace. While it’s a nice to have, it has untapped potential.

The staff was really friendly, location was simply perfect, you can easily reach everywhere in Barcelona and there are a lot of restaurants nearby. The beach is also very close! The rooms have triple glass, so you don’t hear any noise coming from the street.

The bed was a bit too soft to our taste, you can hear a lot the noise coming from other rooms and I was expecting the hotel to be spotless and new, but you can see in some details it’s aging - these are def be things to improve, but it wouldn’t prevent me from coming back.

Breakfast was generous with good variety. Coffee was excellent. We appreciated the personal touch of the breakfast attendant who made us eggs how we like them each morning. The rooftop patio was really nice also to watch the sunsets with a bottle of wine before going for dinner.

Pillows were too stiff and full. I couldn't pack mine from home as my bag was full, and had trouble getting comfortable. Having options with two stiff and two soft pillows would be a nice alternative.

The location was excellent. It was very close to the beach and you could grab a cab directly in front of the hotel. The rooftop terrace didn’t have a bar on it, but the lobby served very reasonably priced cocktails, which you could bring up, or you could provide your own. The view was spectacular day and night! The beds were very comfortable and the room was great. Breakfast was delicious, fresh fruit, breads to toast, meats and upon request you could get omelettes or scrambled eggs. The hotel rooms and public areas were extremely clean. Lastly, the staff was over the top helpful and pleasant…

Can not think of a thing we could say that was negative about our three night stay here!

Perfect location in the Barceloneta, near the beach. Nice, beautiful and clean rooms with good beds. Our special requests were fulfilled (we wanted two rooms near each other and that was arranged). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything gave me positive wibes. I stayed in many hotels during this visit in Barcelona and nearby areas and this is definitely the hotel I will return the next time I'll be in Barcelona.

There was a little unpleasant smell in the bathroom, but that's the only negative thing I can say. Everything else was perfect.

Loved our stay at this hotel. Rooms were really comfortable, scrupulously clean, with plenty of space, storage and everything you could need. The location is fantastic, nestled in a genuine local community just a stone's throw from Barceloneta beach with its host of excellent restaurants and bars. Breakfast was adequate with plenty of choice, staff were all extremely friendly and helpful but the standout feature for us was the rooftop terrace with its views over the Marina and city. Worth booking for this alone. I've stayed in plusher hotels in Barcelona but this is the one that's caught my heart and I'll definitely return.

The decor was perhaps a little dated but didn't detract from our enjoyment and comfort.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. There was plenty of hot water. The roof terrace was very nice. The breakfast was good and plentiful. It was very clean and maintained that way. I stayed here twice a couple of weeks apart; the first time I had a room to the side which was ok, and supposedly 'quieter', but not as nice as the room to the front, which I asked for on the second occasion. I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay here again if I wanted to be in La Barceloneta.

In general everything was good. The room sizes in La Barceloneta are never big, so you cannot expect the level of comfort that you would find in other parts of the city, but this place does offer a very good compromise, and the area has many compensations. The shower in the first room was awkward to use, but in the second was perfectly fine. The walk from the metro is quite long with heavy bags ..... but the bus stop is opposite the hotel.
