Hotel Santa Marta

Great hotel 15 minutes walk to beach and 10 minutes walk to La Rambla's. lots of restaurants within 10 minutes walk. outside the surrounding area, it looks run down. However, once you're inside, you are a treat to a love modern hotel. Room was a good size, with a lovely modern bathroom and good size wardrobe. The only downside was beds, no double bed, only two single. The room was clean and tidy, and room service people made up the room each day , even when put notice on door not to. Rooms come with a free safe. Breakfast was included, mainly continental, but also fried eggs, bacon, and frankfurter. Food was a good quality and ample amount for all. The dining room was in the basement with no windows. However brightly painted, so you don't even notice, and you always got a great smiling welcome from staff. All staff we met at the hotel were friendly. There is no outside noise, which I think you could get if you stay busier part of Barcelona. Price for the 4 nights we stay over the half term week was very good too

I really loved the location of the property, it’s so close to everything! You are about a little less than a 15 min walk from the beach, if you take the train from the airport the train station is less than a 5 minute walk, the citadella park is also a 5 minute walk and there are a lot of restaurants all around and the staff is very friendly and helpful!

Everything was great but I did have one concern. Our first night as we were going to bed I noticed our blanket had a hole which looked like someone had put out a cigarette on it. The room was clean all over and the blanket was washed but it was still a little off putting seeing that. Don’t get me wrong the room was clean! Just think they should replace the blankets if they look like that 😅

The location was safe, quiet and very close to a lot of sites of interest and to the coast line. The rooms are spacious, very clean and with plenty of natural light. Very nice bathroom. The staff is extremely kind and helpful, especially Jorge who was there for us in every need and every question we had. Excellent professional. Excellent breakfast, with a large variety of food, fruits, coffee and juices. They had even a choice of Lactose Free Milk which was very good for me.

The rooms don't have a small fridge which is necessary. The hotel has only one elevator and sometimes you need to wait for some time.

+ location - beach Barceloneta some 10min walk, many places in the “centre” nearby, many bus/train lines taking you to other places, small 24/7 shops and also larger shops and cafes/restaurants close by + very good breakfast, large selection of food and drinks including fresh pressed juices + detail-oriented room service and cleanness

- there was a toilet brush missing in the bathroom, not sure if someone broke/stole it before our arrival or something else was behind it, but we did not get any even later - although fridge was not supposed to be there, we would appreciate a small one

The best about this hostel is its location. You can walk from here to many central places in Barcelona! And when using metro/train/buses it is also very convenient. Stop of train R2 from/to airport is literally behind the corner. Room was nice, clean and staff very pleasant and helpful.

Breakfast was the same every day. We got 2 separate beds, just moved together, it was not very comfortable, as both beds kept moving from each other. Place is a bit noisy, we were not able to sleep with window open. Overall we would say that this hotel is a bit overpriced for what it offers.

An small hotel near the Gothic district and Barcelonetta beach. Near to the public transportation: bus and train station. Clean, quiet and nice room. The room was quite small but we only slept there. Good ac which was importaint for us in the summer. Nice stuff in the hotel. Jorge at the reception desk was especially friendly, always greeted us and helped us to plan our routes with public transportation. Breakfast was good, there were always jamon available.

The beds has wheels, but didn bother us too much.

Me and my sister had a really good time here. Very good location, near to the beach and metro station. It is easy to get anywhere in the city from here. The room was well-equipped and cleaned every day, free WiFi worked well, there was everything that we needed. Breakfast was abundant and delicious. We could also left our luggage here on our last day, until we go to the airport. The kindness of the staff, the recepcionists, the ladies during breakfast made a pleasure atmosphere in the hotel. The location is good near the marina, beach and old city. The on-off bus stop was a few blocks from the hotel, and there were many good restaurants nearby. The breakfast was good with fresh foods that tasted good. Karina did an excellent job.

The room was a little smaller than we are used to staying at.The air conditioning worked some of the time but not all of the time.

It was a nice quiet hotel. The room was new and modern. It's close to the Born district. We did not eat at the morning buffet but it looked good with many options.

The room was smaller than expected with somewhat low ceilings. There was a sewage smell from the floor drain in the bathroom. It's best to close the bathroom door. The pillows were too firm and the bed was too firm for me but not my husband.
