Hotel Alimara

Very friendly staff and a nice hotel. The hotel is located in the vicinity of subway station Mundet so that access to the city is very easy. Breakfast was good and very extensive. It takes around 20 minutes or so to reach the city center and sites like the Ramblas and Sagrada Familia.

Few things in the room where a bit worn out. It is recommended to have some regular maintenance in the rooms. Think of the toilet roll holders etc. Minor disadvantages but this did not spoiled my stay whatsoever.

Stuff was kind and gave us the room that we've asked - calm and on a higher floor. Bed was super comfortable, cleaning was every day (they have also changed our bedding, very nice!). For 1 week it was ok, since there were small fridge and kettle in the room. Location near metro which is 15 min ride to city center and big supermarket Consum nearby. City district is near mountains and Horta labirynth, very peaceful and modern.

Lobby, elevators and restaurant look very reprsentative, like 4 star hotel indeed, BUT the room needs renovation, especially bathroom, furniture and walls...

There’s not a lot to do in the area. Finding good places to eat can be a hassle Uber and other ride hailing companies might be very scarce in the area. We had a scare when we couldn’t get a taxi on the way back. Just got to the airport by the skin of our teeth. Make sure you factor that in mind.

Great room, great hotel. The room was very clean, quite large, equipped with everything you need. Air conditioning was a great thing to have and it worked very smooth, you never felt the cold air brushing against you. The breakfast was pretty good, for a few days it's great, if you plan to stay more days maybe it can get a bit boring. But everything tastes nice. The staff was very responsive and always eager to help. Transport stations, bus and metro, very close to the hotel.

I didn't like how the city of Barcelona treats it's visitors! When checking in at the hotel the city tax we had to pay extra was 50 Euro for 5 nights on a double room. When trying to call an Uber, there is a 15 minutes wait time until you can actually call the Uber or Bolt or Taxify. If you're in a hurry that is huge. The metro stations have no air conditioning and you are full of sweat the moment you enter the station. For a town that is full of construction sites (Sagrada familia included in the category of construction sites) it's very rude to treat your visitors this way.

Spacious room and bathroom. Descent prices of minibar content. Excellent check in and out experience. Everything was clean and tidy. Large wardrobe. Nice view from the window. A 4 minute walk from the metro and the supermarket chain consum. Amazing water pressure from the showers. Bathroom has a bidet which is a very nice surprise in spain. Bathroom also has lovely smell shampoo as well as a body lotion.

The pillows weren't comfortable and of a weird shape. The bathroom did smell a bit but nothing too bad. TV had Catalan, Spanish, German, and French channels but no English.

Every day the room was cleaned and we got the new clean towels. The bad was comfortable, just we didn't like the pillows. It was really quiet during the night. Good location and surroundings.

Stuff on the reception was not so efficient, without smile or eye contact. They must represent the hotel and in the most hoteles that we have visited those were the top employees. For us the toilet brush is required in the bathroom. There was no toilet brush. It will be nice if TV was bigger or at least if it was a smart TV so we could connect our mobiles and watch Netflix as it wasn't already on TV. It was just one program in English France 24(news)

The hotel is nice, but I wouldn’t say it’s 4 stars, more like 3. It is however clean and comfortable and very close to Mundet metro station. The staff was very nice and friendly, our room was cleaned daily and our towels were changed. We borrowed a clothes iron several times from the reception and were given directions and recommendations every time we asked. The price was good compared to other properties.

We had a small incident at the beginning - there was a huge bug in our room when we arrived, but the receptionist changed our room immediately and I didn’t see any other bugs in the following days, so I assume it was an accident, not a general problem. Also, there was a lot of noise from the corridors in the morning, but it’s not the hotel’s fault that other guests are noisy.

The room is spacious and the bathroom is large. The breakfast is diverse but unfortunately in the 4 days we have stayed, we did not notice differences in the menu. Also, fresh vegetables are missing. The hotel is very close to Mundet metro station and at 2 minutes far from a supermarket.

Overall, the stay at the Alimara Hotel was a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, for a 4-star hotel, some essential things are missing from the room, a kit with toothpaste and a toothbrush, slippers, especially since we had announced that the airline would not transfer our luggage. The staff is ok but I cannot say that is very friendly, They can share more information to the tourists, at least to guide them to the corner with information located in the lobby.

Perfect location – quiet and calm neighborhood, a minute walk from metro station Mundet (L3 gets us straight to city center); Cozy and quiet room with enough storage space; Friendly, nice and helpful staff, the reception stored our luggage before check in; Room cleaned and towels changed daily; Fast internet. It was really calm and quiet – perfect for relax after exploring the amazing Barcelona all day long Despite the negatives I listed below, we had a good experience and it was good for the money paid. We would recommend and stay here again.

It is definitely not a 4* hotel, 3* at maximum. You should make some improvements: the double bed was actually two beds pushed together which kept moving and there was a big gap in the bed all the time; the toiletries were just basic and low-quality; the room was not dirty, but it could have been a bit cleaner, especially the floor; water was filling the bathroom floor while in the shower and the ventilation did not work. Hope next time we find a really 4* Alimara hotel :)

The breakfast was good (worthwhile having it included), the staff were very attentive and the bed was very comfortable and big. Also really liked that the minibar had glass bottles and no plastic at all! The internet was good. The rooms were quiet and peaceful.

The wallpapers were peeling off, giving it a bit of a rundown feeling to the whole experience. The pillows were a bit too thin for a 4* hotel. There was no shower gel in the bathroom. The gym was a very small and stuffy room that smelled a bit moldy, with one treadmill and one shoulder press machine. No weights.
