Everything is gorgeous . Wonderful breakfast and very clean everything.

Fist day when we went there my kids woke up a little bit early because of the time difference and jet lag . We had Two rooms and kids went to other room very quietly. Door made a little noise and I think it’s normal when you open the door. It was 06:20 AM in the morning. Not sure who would be interrupted that time. One of the front desk person was so rude with me because of that. He literally said “ ENOUGH “ then frowned at me and left. I don’t think as a guest I can deserve this kind of attitude. I was not happy about that at all. This is the one of bad experience I had form there. I like respect and same way I like to give respect. Even though I seen him after that but it was nice to him and I showed him my respect.

We booked this hotel through booking.com, which was in itself, a very smooth experience. We received messages from hotel admin soon if we needed help with transportation from airport to the hotel. They arranged the transport very promptly and sent us detailed info about how to find the location of the transport. The transport process went very smoothly(As everyone knows taxi experience in Istanbul is not the best). We were greeted very warmly by the reception and the bell bot took care of our luggage promptly. The receptionist was very pleasant and welcoming and made us feel at home. We asked for advice about dining close by. The staff actually took us to a restaurant which was hardly a 3 minute walk. The food was so good that we returned to that restaurant a day later. There were several other options to dine close by and all of them seemed very good. The hotel is walking distance from Hagia Sofia and you can view this majestic building from its terrace while enjoying a great breakfast. Breakfast was very good. The rooms were spacious and we had a great balcony facing the sea and you wake up to a beautiful view of the sea(We had to pay a nominal charge to upgrade our room to the sea-view but that was my best decision). Please keep in mind that spacious rooms are not the norm in tourist central areas. Public transportation was close however we preferred walking as it was a very safe area. We google mapped travel times walking vs public transport and it used to show only 5-10 minute difference. The pictures provided on the website are not exaggerated at all. Didn't need to call reception as everything was well explained. There was a mini market near us. Room service was prompt and they kept on stocking the refrigerator daily with water(free). I would recommend this hotel to others as well and will stay here again if I visit the city in the future.

Location fantastic within walking distance of most of the famous landmarks. Staff extremely polite and friendly. Especially Nuri on reception and Sultan in the breakfast room. I had an injury to my leg so walking was difficult and there is a staircase to the breakfast room but I managed. We had a superior room with sea view. Rooms were really large. King size bed, single bed and sofa bed so could easily accommodate a family. Always lots of hot water and the water pressure in the shower really good. It’s quite old fashioned decor wise but absolutely charming. The rooftop area has some fantastic views with the Blue Mosque lit up in the evening. Loved our stay

Be aware there is no bar in this hotel. Not a complaint just providing information. The staff do allow you to bring your own drink in and consume it in the rooftop breakfast room. This is a pleasant area with lovely views. Both inside and outside seating.

Location and staff.

The restaurant was on the terrace which was amazing. As smoking is allowed, the food was terrible. Insensitive tourists (Russian, Ukrainian) don't care that children eat and blow smoke on everyone, culture doesn't matter. Primitive attitude, but I emphasize that this is not the hotel's fault, but at least smoking should be prohibited during breakfast!!!!!

Great location. Spacious room with view over the Bosphorus and a view of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia from the rooftop where they serve breakfast. The location made it easy to access all the main tourist attractions in old town. The staff were also super helpful and friendly. One night we mentioned we wouldn’t be at breakfast the following morning as we were leaving for a tour at 6am and when we came down leave for the tour they had made us a couple of sandwiches to take with us.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Ferman Hotel Old City during my visit to Istanbul, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar were all within a short walking distance, allowing me to immerse myself in the rich history and culture of this incredible city. The convenience of exploring these treasures at our own pace added a significant layer of enjoyment to our trip. One highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the breakfast. It was nothing short of superb. Each morning, we were treated to a delicious array of local and international dishes, all thoughtfully prepared and presented. The breakfast staff were attentive and welcoming. Our room was a true haven of comfort. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, providing a restful night's sleep after a day of exploration. What truly stole the show, however, was the spacious balcony. It was the perfect spot to unwind with a cup of tea or coffee. The hotel's receptionists and staff deserve a special mention for their exceptional service. They were always ready to assist with a warm smile and a wealth of local knowledge. Whether we needed directions, recommendations for dining, or assistance with arranging transportation, they went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. In conclusion, our stay at Ferman Hotel Old City was a delightful experience that exceeded our expectations in every way. The perfect location, sumptuous breakfast, comfortable accommodations, and the warm, helpful staff all contributed to a truly memorable stay. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul and seeking a top-notch experience in the heart of the Old City.

We loved the location, on a very quiet street, yet within a short walk to all the sites, restaurants and small boutique shops of the historic district. We loved our room, a family suite with a double, single, and sofa bed and a wall of windows and a terrace overlooking the Bosphorous. We loved the rooftop terrace for the delicious breakfast buffet in the mornings and an evening tea or coffee. The views on both sides of the terrace were breathtaking. We loved the friendly and genuinely kind and helpful staff, especially the front desk gentleman Omer and Muhammad who assisted with luggage. We would definitely recommend and stay here again during a future visit to Istanbul.

The only, minor, downside was that our beautiful room was situated just beneath the rooftop terrace restaurant, so we had the noise of early morning terrace chairs scraping the floor traveling through our ceiling. It wasn't a problem because we were waking up early anyway. But, for those later sleepers who are sensitive to noise, a white noise machine/app might help, or requesting a room on a lower floor.

Hospitality of the staff was excellent, very friendly, very informative, Omar at reception gave us expert information on arrival. Noori & Mesut were also friendly & helpful. Hotel location excellent, loved it. Great breakfast & facilities, roof top experience of views phenomenal. Muhammad waiter at breakfast was kind & took our photos. We stayed for 2 nights, family of 7 in 3 bedrooms. We had travelled from Kashmir. Everything exceeded our expectations, would definitely stay again.

Air conditioning could have been cooler,WiFi issues at times,however not a major problem & Omar gave me the hotel laptop to use in the lobby . I would definitely stay here again

The entire hotel staffers were outstanding. I was lucky to came across this hotel in booking.com. The view from our hotel room was amazing. This hotel deserves recognition.

Great location. Close to all attraction in the old European area of the city with 5-10 min walking distance. Great breakfast and very polite and professional member of staffs from reception to restaurant (specially Tarkan, he made our day every morning during breakfast and making us laugh), room service and cleaners. The property is spotless and very very clean which made me surprised as I did not expect it this clean.
