Very nice place, friendly staff and great breakfast, this place is closer to all facility. The only thing is you need to get there from airport, from Istanbul airport need to take a bus from stop number 12 which will charge 54 TL and at the final destination of bus stop walk few miles on your right hand side and then take a metro for blue Mosque I think stop number 5, which charge 12TL and then walk towards Blue Mosque direction, keep walking towards mosque it will take you around 5 minutes from blue mosque to get to the hostel, very good location.

We stayed for 5 nights and everything was amazing! The room is very cosy, the neighborhood is quiet and safe - a few minutes away (on foot) from Aya Sophia and the Blue Mosque. There is also a small Bazaar nearby. The breakfast was excellent, with a variety of local dishes, including menemen, local deserts and tasty vegetables. We had breakfast either on the terrace or on the rooftop which offers a nice view to the Bosphorus. The wi-fi works very well. Client service at its best! A big Thank you to Mr. Alper and his team, who are very welcoming, offering prompt assistance to each and every request, plus life-saving recommendations; he also helped us negotiate the fee with the taxi driver and booked us a taxi to return to the airport. We appreciated also that we could leave our luggage in the hotel for a couple of hours after check-out. Let’s not forget the Golden Retriever who just makes your day brighter. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come again!

Everything was great!

This is one of those places I almost don't want to recommend because it might be hard to get a room next time! The owners were incredibly nice, the guest house was comfy and clean, and the doggo was friendly! And the seafood restaurant across the street and down the stairs was :chefskiss:! Great place! Really nice terrace!

The only thing that bugged me: every time you leave the guest house, you will be asked by guys on the street if you want to come to their restaurant. Every time. To be fair, this will happen no matter where you stay if you're in the touristy area. We couldn't find a direction where it didn't happen, but our attempts to avoid this led us to a fun night of meeting some strangers at the nearby Irish pub. Haha!

Location was amazing, 5min walk to all the tourist sites in Sultanahmet - Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi. Also very close to a tram station to get around the other regions of Istanbul. Even though the hotel is close to the sites it is on a very quiet street so there is no noise at night. Alper (the manager) provided us with loads of information about Istanbul and other parts of Turkey that we were travelling to. The other staff were just as friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely - Turkish breakfast as well as cereal, fruit, eggs and some cakes - there was something for everyone.

Not a negative but just to be aware there is no lift so you need to be able to manage a couple of flights of stairs to the rooftop area for breakfast or to your rooms.

Lovely staff who made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Good facilities, offers everything you need in a hostel. Lovely terrace for breakfast with a good array of Turkish foods provided by the hotel.

As I already had some bad experiences in this area, I came here a bit skeptical, wondering if the photos on the website will match with reality. Well, this place exceeded my expectations on every plan: the room was 100% like in the photos, super clean and cozy, the staff is absolutely amazing - polite, helpful and enjoyable - and the services they provide are top - we had our towels changed every day, the bed was made every day and the room was cleaned up every day. The breakfast is more than decent, not the lowest quality products you find in the majority of the hotels around. The terrace on the roof is a beautiful place to spend your evening and you can also bring your own stuff and consume it here while admiring a wonderful view of the Bosporus. I strongly recommend this place to anyone. The service services and conditions they provide are much above the price you pay. You will not be disappointed, I promise.

I didn't like the fact that I could not spend more nights here

Everything about agora exceeded my expectations! Starting from the location, Agora is in the heart of Sultan Ahmet, walking distance from Blue mosque, Ayasofya mosque, restaurants, souvenir shops, metro station, Grand Bazar... The staff are very lovely, nice, cheerful, easy to communicate with, very helpful, and friendly. They also facilitate everything for a tourist including money exchange services and airport transfers. They have and amazing terrace, where you can find peace and serenity thanks to the great view and the sweet lady Feride, and the great people that you can meet there and grab some drinks or good food. They also offer a decent breakfast and a always a warm tea like every Turkish place. I am beyond happy about my stay in Agora and about the friendships I've made there.

In winter it's a bit cold!

The staff are wonderful and do everything they can to make your stay great. They arrange airport drop off and are just very helpful in every way. The meals are homemade and authentic Turkish food, which was nice to experience and at a very reasonable price. There are privacy screens on the beds which is great, and lockers under the beds with ample space. The bathrooms are kept VERY clean, all day long.

You are not given a key so the rooms are never locked - your stuff is expected to be in the lockers, but I still would have liked the rooms to lock as well. There aren't bathrooms on every floor so you have to take stairs to use the restroom in the middle of the night - kind of a pain to not have a toilet closer to the room. I was sold a SIM card when I got there, and then found out there were much less expensive ones available in the city. Granted, their SIM has more features and more data, but is considerably more expensive - I wish I would have been told that.

This place really made my trip to Turkey much better. I really like, when it's not just a business, but you get to know the owner. And Alper is not just hospitable, he is friendly and attentive. He really looks after the place, he wans to make your stay better and it was a pleasure meeting him. And he definitely improved my turkish! The place is without doubt cleaner that most hostels, breakfast is great - it has some local food and their tea is amazing! The roof terrace improves your mood every morning and is so cozy in the evenings. Location is not just near the central part of Sultanahmet, but the street itself is very quiet.

Maybe one small table for a room is not enough. And any kind of ventilation would be great, because if you neighbours don't want to leave window open for the night - it's really stifling, too much CO2.

The people working at Agora are amazing. They’re incredibly kind, and have great tips. The room was clean and cosy, although in need of some touch ups. The terrace on the roof allows for amazing late night chats with a drink, whilst looking out over the Bosphorus. Best thing: the dogs! They have the two cutest dogs who love the attention of all the guests. The breakfast has nice options.

It is a little loud. You can hear people walking up and down the stairs all the time, as well as talking at quite late hours. However, nothing some earplugs cannot fix.
