Ghan Hotel

I spent 7 nights at the Ghan Hotel and can only say positive things. My room was nice and clean. The electronic ventilation system works great, it smells so good in the room and in the entire hotel I would like to thank the dear employees at the reception. No matter whether it was translating, printing out documents or ordering food - they were always helpful and very friendly at all times. In addition, they all speak perfect English i will definitely be back soon :) Viktorija

The bed was comfy and we had a good sleep. The room was nice and the staff was friendly. Special thanks to the receptionist and the owners, who sorted gluten free bread for me for breakfast, I really appreciated it, and breakfast was great, really tasty typical Turkish breakfast served at your table. There is a really nice restaurant that belongs to the hotel, so you can have dinner there too. Bottled water is provided in the room every day, which is great. Overall we had a great stay, and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Some of the restaurant staff didn't speak English, so I had to ask the receptionist to translate when I couldn't get myself understood. Restaurant had live music until midnight on Saturday, that you could hear loudly in the room, but once it stopped we could go to sleep.

Top notch service and high level of facilities. The staff did their best to make me feel welcome and the room was hard to fault. The clenliness and maintenence was impeccable. On one occasion i mentioned to the reception a missing rubber insert on a door stop as I was concerned someone could hurt themselved. It was fixed within the hour.

The only downside was the location. A little outside the commercial area of that part of the city it was hard to find and walking to the shops and cafes, although not far, was a bit of a mission. Having said that it was within walking distance of the metro and suburban rail station.

The cleaning service was exceptional. They put in extra work to ensure the room looked all sorted out and no stuff was lying around. Another star to give is to the staff. They were helpful and welcoming, all you need. If you need help booking a taxi for the airport, they will help you. Also, another important thing about this hotel is its location. If you are looking for a hotel not too far from the city center, this hotel is pretty good. It has available bus stations for the ferry. You don't have to walk too far for any modes of transport.

The safebox was hard to figure out. The sink did not have functional cold water

Helpful and kind receptionist and cleaning staff. Rooms cleaned thoroughly. Owner of the hotel also a great guy- always cheerful. Really nice breakfast area. Hotel in a good area with access to public transport as well as taxis easy to get by. Shops 5 mins around the corner.

Very small and dark room, small window - no air circulation, no exhaust fan in the toilet/bathroom, breakfast wasn't great- breakfast served from the previous day it seemed. We picked a economy room which I hardly advise against getting, the superior rooms are alot more spacious and brighter, with bigger windows.

We were very surprised by this hotel. We have stayed in many hotels in Istanbul (especially Kadikoy). To be honest we didn't necessarily expect much at the beginning, since most hotels in the same price category seem always to have some problems. But this hotel is a true gem, especially in terms of tranquility. If you are overly sensitive for noises, (smoking)smells, or a light sleeper, this hotel is a perfect place to stay for you! To begin with the staff, they were all super friendly, helpful and professional. The rooms were surprisingly very quiet (even though it was close to a highway) and spacious. The beds (mattresses) were perfect. Bathroom was very clean and equipped with toiletries. The location of the hotel is a bit off road, but don't be fooled by that, because this hotel is very central, a 10 min walk to Kadikoy, and directly located behind the train station Sogutlucesme (for the travellers among us, you can easily walk with your luggage to this hotel). The interior is distinct, not necessary my style, but I can image other people liking it. The breakfast was delicious, a so called "serpme kahvalti" on your plate, accompanied with a fresh omelet as you wish and Turkish tea - served by a lovely waiter. The most important thing was that we felt safe at this hotel - using the elevator/restaurant by hotelcards. I would definitely recommend Ghan hotel, also for families and especially ladies travelling (alone).

The staff is really nice and helpful.

The room is heated using air conditioner which is centrally managed and has a fixed temperature of 30 degrees. The room gets dry after 15 minutes. Therefore, you have to open the window. Now, the air conditioner stops and the room suddenly gets cold :(

The rooms and hotel were all clean and new. Everything looked great and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is located in a good location, close to transport and to city centre.

The rooms weren’t soundproofed - you can easily hear people in other rooms and vice versa. The AC was blowing directly at the bed, so you can’t really sleep with it on - had to sleep with the window open so there was some noises etc. The water in the shower kept changing from hot to cold.

I was there for 11 nights and I enjoyed every minute. The room was nice and clean and the staff was very friendly and polite.
