Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel

Dinner was well presented and delicious. Dave, our waiter, was cheerful, attentive and very helpful, went beyond his remit. Room was large and beautifully furnished, only down side no air condition or fridge in the room. We were offered an electric fan which helped to cool and air the room.

Breakfast staff rushed off their feet, probably due to guests from a wedding party the previous day staying at the hotel. Had to request numerous times for condiments, only to be eventually told the hotel did not have mayonnaise in stock. Selection of food was average. Repeatedly asked by front desk what time we wanted dinner and breakfast and that it was essential we booked in advance.

Everything! Our stay was exceptional, we had a micro wedding with ten guests and chose afternoon tea for lunch time with a glass of champagne and then opted for the bbq for the evening and sat outside in the sun, the food was perfect and incredibly tasty, the staff were brilliant and very accomodating. I would like to give a massive thank you to Aimee Foubister for arranging our bbq at such short notice, the reception staff, the bar staff, the lovely bar man/chef who cooked our food and the waiting staff, you all made our special day perfect, I cannot thank you all enough. The beds are really cosy, rooms very clean, nice bathroom, very classy property, you would be a fool not to stay here

Beautiful building and the interior was superb. The bedroom was lovely and spacious...the grounds manicured. It was great to be able to stay somewhere really lovely that allowed our dog and made us and her very welcome!!😀 10/10 for that!! The staff were super friendly and professional a credit to the hotel.

It was noisy as there was a wedding on and the noise went on til late . Also there were two dogs in the room next to us who barked constantly....we did mention this to staff that evening but they were unconcerned. We mentioned it again the following morning to the reception staff and their attitude was completely different and were full of apologies...it seemed the owners were wedding guests who had simply left their dogs unattended for hours.... We will definitely visit again and recommend the hotel but preferably not when a wedding is on....

The staff were very helpful, the sound proofing was amazing, we were completely unaware of a piper piping at a wedding on the property until we left the building. The food was good, the chips were amazing. The room was spacious and had good seating options

The mattress was a little sort and lumpy. The shower temperature fluctuated and didn't have great pressure and the shower door didn't close properly The lack of a breakfast menu option on the Sunday morning was a little disappointing, though there was a wedding the previous day and staff apologised for the high traffic

Starting from the location, the approach driveway, the cared-for grounds, the facade of the building, the reception hall and the warm, efficient welcome, the visit just got better. We both loved the decor, the view of trees from our quiet, spacious room, the pristine en suite, and the comfortable, enormous bed. The old-world elegance of especially the public areas were worthy of a film set and we enjoyed coffee and petits fours in the library. We ate in the restaurant both nights of our stay and the food was delicious. The breakfast menu was extensive, well presented in a timely manner by very pleasant staff in awesome rooms. The lounge and the library were All in all, an exceptional visit! A warm thank you to all the staff, both front of house and maintenance.

I did not find anything about the visit to dislike

lovely clean hotel in a idyllic location. Staff friendly, courteous and polite. Room spacious and spotless but quite a walk from reception. Evening meal served was very nice but too expensive...£24 for a burger and over £6 for a pint. An option was to have it delivered to the room, bit this would have injured the pocket by another £8. Breakfast was lovely, a little different for a buffet breakfast as it was not a help yourself buffet, but the young lady serving was very polite, smart and well mannered. overall a very nice stopover stay

the price for food and drink. One hell of a noise in the next room to the bar with some kind of function occurring.

We asked for accessable room as my wife has a mobility scooter. Told only two accessible Rooms in Hotel none on ground floor. We were in Room 430 on second floor. The Walk in wet room was very spacious with plenty grap rails and alarms should something happen. Managed the lift okay. We were at my son's Wedding. Meal was fantastic facilities very good. Breakfast was excellent but would have preferred another sausage. Staff were very helpful opening doors

Wish the accessible room had been on ground floor to avoid using the lift. This lift plays up some times with the buttons so was better to hold door open till my wife got in with her scooter.

Great surroundings, breakfast was very good and the staff were very helpful.

The Deluxe Room was located above the kitchen and the extraction vents were just outside our window and there was a slight hum noise in the background. The hotel staff were very helpful and were able to move us to alternative room one level up. Dissapointing that the lift was out of use that evening and we we had to walk 4 flights of stairs to our room.

Our stay here was exceptional from start to finish, check in was easy and check out, the staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble special shout out to reception gentleman who help us throughout the wkend and and also I think his name was Jordan the MC at our sons wedding on the Sat Food was perfect room amazing and clean, I would totally recommend Norwood hall to anyone for wedding and stay 5 star all the way

The photos don't really do the Hall justice, the warm hardwoods and wallpaper are even more muted & elegant in real life! It was a fantastic atmospheric building especially at this time of year (winter/lead up to Christmas). The room was large, comfortable & the king sized bed was great. It was a really lovely place to hole up and be romantic for a couple of nights. Highly Recommended!

It's a little far from the centre of Aberdeen so there aren't many shops etc around, which isn't really a problem if you drive. The restaurant prices were a little on the high side for my budget but actually good value for money and the staff were incredibly thoughtful regarding allergies & information... as well as splitting the fish & chips we'd ordered to share into two portions - which were more than enough for our appetites! The quality of the food is outstanding, and the drinks menu is great too, so much choice. As you can tell, even the couple of quibbles I had are very easily gotten over!
