It’s a beautiful hotel and the staff are really friendly, great location too just a short walk into Ambleside

The only downside for us was the size of the room and we should have looked more carefully at the booking. The room we had was tiny. I would definitely recommend booking but maybe pay close attention to the type of room you book.

Room 24 is amazing. attention to detail and the free standing bath was a great shout. I even got myself a pizza from sourdough pizza next door to enjoy on the balcony whilst the sunsets over the distance. Electric curtains are a great touch. The breakfast was lovely and the staff are most welcoming. Best room I have stayed in to date 😊 Defo returning in the future.

I prefer a firmer mattress, as it was a bit soft to my liking. But this takes nothing away from the comfort of the room.

Delightful room with jacuzzi bath and really pretty mountain view. Bed was extremely comfy and our pup especially enjoyed the welcome banner and doggy treats in the room upon arrival, a nice touch. We took a stroll in to Ambleside village which took around 5 minutes, fab location close to all the action. Great breakfast too included in the price! We already can't wait to book to come back. in the centre of Ambleside. Excellent room very comfortable. Really pleasant helpful staff. lovely relaxing break would come back. we stayed in the log house over the road it was very easy to access . large well furnished room. huge comfortable bed and pillows ,very clean looked newly decorated. modern portable air conditioning unit so we were very cool and comfortable and a fridge. Breakfast very good vegetarian or vegan option. Outside area ideal for sitting outside enjoying a few drinks in the sun. Bar open until 11 no evening meals we had a pizza plenty of options further into centre of Ambleside for food. Easy to walk down to the lake.

The location which is by bus stops travelling north & south is ideal. The room itself was spacious, great bathroom and beautiful view across to the hills in the background. The ability to take advantage of the bar in the evening and sit out on the raised terrace with a glass of something cold, was an ideal way to end the day. Really enjoyable cold/cooked breakfast, served by pleasant and attentive staff. Very flexible with the orders. Every member of staff went out of their way to look after us. Good car parking facility. The end result being an excellent weeks stay.

Nick picking only - Some of the parking bays are a little on the small side. We got there early and had an ideal slot.

The bed was really comfy, we both slept well. The room was a good size and nicely decorated. Great location for the restaurants, shops and pubs.

We stayed in the Log House, which is over the road from the main hotel. Our room was very dark, with a small window and blinds you couldn’t roll up. Unfortunately our shower was blocked so couldn’t spend much time in there as it would overflow onto the floor, we reported it at the end of the stay and it was noted down. You have to pay for parking, £10 per stay. The breakfast room has too many tables and chairs and it’s difficult to move round easily.

The room was lovely we stayed in room 29 and the bath was the reason we booked this room beautiful bath! Breakfast was lovely lots of options and plenty available to eat and drink! Service was quick. Location was perfect with the bus stop being right outside the door so could quickly get to bowness. Towels changed and bedding. Great walks locally we would definitely stay again

The room had some mould in and some damp stuff flaking on to the bedside table, I didn't sleep well as no curtains and the blinds in the room let in so much light that I would wake up early which is not ideal when on a stay without your children and a lay in is what you need.

Staff (reception, breakfast, cleaners) were all lovely. Great location. Room was small but clean and equipped well. Parking wasn’t guaranteed but we had no problem. Dog friendly - she appreciated the biscuits in the room.

We stayed in room 29 of the Log house. The bathroom looked lovely and modern but the wet room style shower is an accident waiting to happen. The shower is directly in front of the door and using it, wets the entire floor of the bathroom. I’m not sure if the floor tiles used are inappropriate or if it’s the fact that the floor slopes to drain the water, but the wet floor is extremely slippy! The bathroom fan doesn’t manage to clear the wet floor for hours - we resorted to using a towel. The slippers provided do make walking on the wet floor easier but aren’t suitable to use whilst showering. Plastic shower shoes would be a better idea. There is a bath in this room but no shower/hair attachment with it. It’s a shame as the bathroom looks very nice but it functions poorly.

Location was great. 5 mins walk to Ambleside Town and 5 mins walk to Lake Windermere. Check in was smooth and lady on reception was very professional and polite. Her attitude was excellent and a credit to the hotel. We had a family room with king size bed and 2 large sofa beds in separate room that had large open aspect windows, we only utilised 1 of the sofa beds to allow more room space.

My only upset was the main bedroom was too hot. There was a small air conditioning unit to assist, however, this was not sufficient to keep room cool in summer months.
