Extremely dog-friendly. Room was extremely well decorated, furnished and very clean, with excellent bathroom facilities also. Room also had its own rear-door access direct to car park which was extremely useful. Meals were high quality, with plenty of varied choice, and choice of meal table very flexible, both indoors and outdoors. Vast majority of staff were extremely pleasant, interested and helpful

Just one member of breakfast service staff let all of the other truly superb Inn staff down. This one individual was extremely sharp and rude regarding which breakfast service utensils to use, and this was very obviously a repetition of past behaviour as other staff colleagues commented openly, in an attempted humorous way, regarding such past similar comments to customers. Unacceptable and needs management action.

Our room had a great view. Parking was easy. Bed was comfortable. Location was great. Air conditioning was perfect.

Staff were lack lustre, not very smart, seemed a bit unprofessional for a top hotel I’m afraid. They were sat behind reception in a slovenly manner on their phones. Breakfast staff lacked any personality whatsoever, and just appeared totally out of place in a smart hotel. A huge difference to the standards of 3 - 4 years ago, and proved more disappointing than I would have imagined I would be unfortunately.

The staff. Absolutely wonderful hard working team.

A little expensive for the rooms we ended up with. There were a few spiders in one of the rooms. We also were told we had to get 3 rooms for a family of 6. When we went into the rooms we were surprised to see that we really only needed 2, which is what booking.com had recommended. However after we had made the booking and 2 days before our arrival the hotel contacted me on booking.com and told me I needed to book another room. When I did book the 3rd room, they responded and told me I needed a 4th room! After I called them, they conceded to 3 rooms. However, after my arrival it was absolutely clear that a 3rd room was not needed at all.

The rooms are an annexe to the main hotel but just across the main road so any late night noise (there wasn't much) from the bar did not carry over to your room. The room was very comfortable with large TV and two easy sitting chairs. The bed was large double and very comfortable. The on suite bathroom was quite large and bright (well lit as no natural light) with a nice "waterfall" type shower. (see below). We were able to leave the car on site and use the bus or the lakeside ferry to get around locally.

Really enjoyed the waterfall type shower, but the floor had no slope and consequently the bathroom got quite wet as the water was unable to totally drain away. (We have pointed this out to the staff).

The whole hotel has been newly refurbished. Loads more space and tables available in the bar area and space outside has been put to more use with lots more tables outside too. The bedrooms were great - the twin room was very big and light with good views of the lake. The double room wasn't as bright and the view was limited, but it was still very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, a good selection to choose from, but all serve yourself - even make your own pot of tea. I would have like some table service maybe bringing the drinks to us. We had our evening meal in the bar, the service was excellent, food arrived promptly - infact more quickly than we had been advised. The meals were all very good. Hotel staff were all helpful.

Whilst I like the new refurbishment, there is so much more space on offer, some of the decor in the pub I find quite dark and it feels a bit dingy in places instead of warm and welcoming. Dark walls are fine but not too keen on the dark ceiling wallpaper. Bedroom decor was excellent.

The staff were super lovely and friendly at check in. The hotel has just been renovated and we were clearly the first to stay in our room so it was exceptionally clean and fresh. Bed was comfortable and the shower was a delight. The hotel is in a lovely location by the pier, easily walkable distance to Ambleside. The bar/restaurant area is very pleasantly decorated, with wonderful views of the garden and lake. Breakfast was what you'd expect - although less options for those of us who don't enjoy a fry up, I was still very happy with my hash browns. We had dinner on one night, it was simple but decent food. Added bonus, they do a discount on food and drink for those with a Blue Light Card.

As I mentioned, the rooms had just been completed as as such there was little piles of sawdust here and there and the toilet roll holder was not properly affixed to the wall. The TV was also not yet set up with internet, but I expect these are all just teething problems. I also didn't realise the hotel was multiple buildings so we were across the road from the bar/hotel bit. Our room was on ground floor level facing the road, which is unfortunately very busy and noisy during the day. The room is also very warm, so on the first night we slept with the one window that could be opened open and were woken as soon as the traffic started in the morning, so would recommend you bring ear plugs and a fan!

These rooms are situated across the road from Wateredge Inn, which is next to the lake. I could just see the lake over the roof opposite. The room was spacious with good facilities. The food and staff were excellent.

I was on the third floor and there is no lift. There were steep stairs up, so it was a bit exhausting dragging my bags up to my room. It was extremely hot and humid in the room, but luckily a large fan had been provided. Crossing the busy road to access the restaurant and garden could be tricky.

Perfect location across the road from the head of the lake! Good size room, comfortable bed, good shower--all a traveler's needs are met with good quality furnishings, bed linens, towels. Restaurant had excellent soups. Breakfast was tasty with an avocado/egg/toast.

Only complaint I have about the breakfast is the noticeable lack of fresh fruit--I was here in mid June--only stewed plums and canned peaches. Not much vegetarian selection for dinner--just the usual risotto and an all-fried vegan burger plate. Lastly, the wifi in my room was consistently poor--not enough to even check Google!

Staff excellent and very friendly. Room spacious and very clean. Position of hotel on head of the lake spectacular. Breakfast choice very good,

Television in our room was on a wall where it couldn’t be seen from the bed, ,room 43, just 2 hardish chairs, not very comfortable. No safe. Crossing road for meals very hazardous, cars speeding round the blind corner very dangerous. Bar meals not great and hotel guests have to Q with other visitors for drinks and food.

Really lovely and in-keeping with the area. Room was a great size, good sizes bath and big bed. The quilt could have been slightly bigger as it felt like it didn’t fit the bed. Good amount of parking, staff were really friendly and helpful (thanks for the tip about the garden centre!) Menu was quite standard and was the same across all their pubs / restaurants but the food was lovely. Breakfast selection was really good. Looking forward to a return visit after their refurb

The walls in the room were quite thin so we could hear the “heated discussion” in the room next door. Shower in room 26 needs looking at as it was broken at the back and pours water out.
