Low Wood Bay

Excellent room overlooking Lake and fells. Lovely welcome from Debbie who gave us a personalised check in at the Winander Club. Staff in bar/ restaurant “W” were fantastic. Food excellent. Pool and indoor spa was nice. Clean and not overly busy. Birthday cards and balloons from the hotel made it special.

The marketing is misleading showing pictures of an outside area with hot tubs and an infinity pool. When we arrived we were informed that we would have to pay £60 per person to access this area for a 3 hour slot. This is not detailed in the booking spec and was very disappointing.

horrible house keeping not worthy of even a 2 star property, the toilets were never cleaned at all during our 4 days, the beds were never made well as you would expect . Basically it seems house keeping staff were never trained properly so the fault lies with the management . Also the staff at the bar and breakfast restaurant were very cold and unfriendly .

I was under the impression all of the facilities were free to individuals staying in the hotel and just the spa treatments were additional costs. I think it’s extremely overpriced to pay to go in the outdoor and indoor infinity pools.

Beautiful place, rooms lovely, exceptionally clean. Woodfired afternoon tea was very nice.

That you are charged £12.00 for parking, stayed at many places in the lakes which includes parking for residents & only charge visitors, I'm not a penny pincher but think this is a bit much.

Room was ok size. Could have been bigger. Breakfast was very good. View and location of Hotel was excellent. Lovely area, very happy indeed.

Asked for twin beds as this was an option - but was not provided, had to ask for it again. A fan was requested too. On checking in, the staff mentioned there was a fan in the room. Asked for a few times before I was actually given one.

you could only use the facilities in the morning and the evening which we were not told about until after we booked and the outside pools which we booked for couldn’t use

Staff, food and accommodation all excellent

For the price I was disappointed that the pool facilities were only available before 1030 and after 530. I chose this hotel because I enjoy the pool area and to have to pay extra in certain time is very disappointing for paying £200 a night

The location, and beautiful relaxing surroundings. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Food is always good.

Visited many times, this trip we brought my parents for their first visit. Unfortunately things missing from the room, ie bathrobes, remote control for the TV, teaspoons. We mentioned to the reception and all was sorted, just a little disappointed, as it was my parents first visit, they were not aware of the bathrobes until mentioned in conversation, this is when they realised they had none in the room.

the facilities

they have started charging £12 per night for car park ! and the spa is now £60 per person whereas it used to be included with your room. this bumps up the overall cost a lot so we probably won't go return.

£18 for a glass of red wine and a pint of Lager was an absolute rip off!!!
