Edgbaston Park Hotel Birmingham

It was stunning high ceilings clean everywhere and friendly food was very nice in restaurant

We purchased 2 evening meals starter were stunning then salad which were priced at £10.95 on menu and prawns £4 pounds when bill came salad was £13.95 plus 4 I asked the waitress and she said salad has gone up in price but they haven’t changed the price on the menu well I was amazed that a hotel of this standard could do this to customers without telling you first this for me was awfull as who knows what else they putting on the bill who stay longer and don’t check the bills

Our visit was to attend a four day County cricket match, and with that in mind the hotel was an excellent choice. On the first day of arrival we were able to leave the car, book it in at reception and walk to the ground for each day of the game. Our room was comfortable and the staff we encountered very friendly. The first night we returned and checked in, and so ate in the hotel restaurant; menu and food very good. The bar didn't have any draught ale, however maybe the throughput wasn't there and the beers that are sold are quite acceptable. The next evening there is a good pub, the Selley Park Tavern, on the way back and adjacent is the excellent Royal Watan Kashmiri restaurant, both around 20 minutes walk back to the hotel. If our cricket travels were to take us to back to Edgbaston in the future I'd have no hesitation in staying again.

Whilst it is realised that buffet breakfasts are increasingly used these days, it's regrettable that eggs can not be cooked fresh to order, and also that tea and coffee are not personally served. Fried eggs do not keep for more than a few minutes in the help-yourself containers, and there were enough staff around that could have brought a freshly brewed pot of tea. The age of service in this Country is rapidly becoming a thing of the past, it seems.

Excellent alternative to staying in the centre of Birmingham. It is set in a nice location, feels very calm, quiet and clean. Good lounge, and you can use gym and sauna facilities free of charge close by in a dedicated facility. Room was small but adequate, excellent power shower and equipped with tea making facilities. Room has complimentary water, good TV and bathroom products. Very friendly reception and restaurant staff, would rate them highly.

The main let down was the bar staff. I’d go as far as saying they were lacking in customer service, ALL appeared fed up and not particularly friendly. compared to all the other staff (including cleaners) it was obvious they need to be reminded of the Important role they have in hospitality and making guests feel welcomed.

I liked the cleanliness. Polite staff . I came with my 23 year old son and they gave us a twin room perfect for our stay. Free Parking The interior and exterior design especially the bedroom and bathroom. The choice of colour scheme was very calming and welcoming. The fact that I could avoid the ulez charge because of location in such a lovely green area. All round a great place. I hope they keep up the standards.

There were black marks on the bath tub because it was a metal tub it had some kind of loss of enamel. However, I think that's minor . The cleanliness was great. Room 108

Staff really , really good. very impressed. Parking was great. Location for Uni very good. More readily available and obvious info about accessing the gym/pool would be really helpful but that’s a real plus to be able to use amazing facilities.

Vegan breakfast really, really poor. No vegan yogurt (soys milk etc was available at the buffet), spreads for toast . Staff very helpful but these days I really don’t want to have to keep asking for things. In the bar in the evening is it really necessary to have two enormous TVs on the wall? I’m sure that if they were switched off it would enhance the atmosphere (no one was watching them at 9pm - people were talking as they do in bars!

After much hassle with a bed and breakfast my partner and I intended to stay in, we found Edgbaston Park Hotel, super clean, very very comfortable room, showers and beds! Air con in the rooms, we had breakfast which was £14.95 per person but you could grab as much as you wanted it was so fresh and lovely! The staff were exceptional, so polite, amazing customer service and friendly! Would definitely stay again :)

Fairly pricey but the service you get is brilliant, walls were a little thin could hear people from other rooms.

The staff were brilliant. Welcoming. Friendly. Polite. Made the stay much more comfortable and enjoyable because of the welcome at reception. When treated with such kindness it makes everything more relaxed and memorable.

We didn't have a room service menu in our room. But it wasn't a problem as the room service operator went through the menu, which was obviously helpful. He was patient and didn't mind having to do that. He said menus had been changed recently so perhaps they hadn't placed new ones into some rooms.

Staff were great (notably Rhonda on the front desk and the lady servicing our room), the "standard double" room suited our needs and the restaurant meal was great. My bar meal was also good but didn't have the care in making it that the restaurant meal received. It was also an easy walk to the MAC to see an exhibition there.

It was really annoying that the background music in the restaurant has adverts in it. Everything else about the meal was excellent but the music gave a cheap impression which spoiled things.

it’s very modern, designed in the Scandie (de Vere - remember them?) style. reasonable bar menu, really friendly bar staff. they do the speedy checkout thing, which has gone out of fashion (final bill slipped under door in the small hours, so ifs all fine you can just leave at will and forget check out) which I liked a lot.

well the staff aren’t very well trained if I’m honest. check in took 40 mins, because the fire alarm went off and nobody new how to reset it. equally the tv server went down and no one could get that going either. so they comped a lot of free breakfasts. which was nice but breakfast was now busy and it was fairly chaotic. I’d hate to be there in conference season. you will have to ask the gum chewing, sweetly bumbling staff several times for pretty much anything you want. but despite all this, I rather enjoyed the place. the foods pretty good when it comes. not a place if your in your in a hurry. bar staff however are super friendly and chatty which I like. good banter.

I liked the breakfast, even if it was without croissants and other different pastries. The hotel is very cleaned and there are nice areas where you can hang out. It is a quiet place where to relax during the day.

First of all, the room (310) is not properly insolated from the room beside (312). You can hear people talking (without understanding the words) and the television sound. If there is someone who wants to stay awake until 1 a.m. you are forced to stay awake too. Second, the reception did not answer my repeated phone calls at 1 a.m. on May 6 to ask to intervene with my neighbour. Finally, there was no cleaning service for the room day by day because of Covid restrictions. Therefore, if you are staying more than one day, you will receive a service below what you may expect and what is provided in other hotels during the same period of general Covid precautions.
