The location was excellent for a short 7 min walk to the station and a 15 mins train ride into Birmingham New Street. Perfect for what we needed and the price was great for the two of us including breakfast. The staff were really friendly and stored our bags for us safely before check in. Would definately return! Lovely bar and breakfast!

The room was ok, but there was a dent in one wall looked like something had bashed into it. But it wasn't a big enough issue to raise and for the money we paid I was happy with the rest of the facilities and the friendliness of the staff. Apart from that the room was pretty spot on to the pictures.

cheap and cheerful… rooms sufficiently big, simple amenities (tea, towels, hair drier…)

no heating in the bathroom, meaning it was freezing in the morning…

The location was good for me to get to the hospital my Mum was dying in. The staff were very friendly and very compassionate as they knew about my Mum dying. Also the lady in reception was a godsend, she lent me her mobile phone charger as my phone was dead. I needed my phone for the hospital to ring me to summon me to the hospital which actually happened after midnight. They also gave me an upgrade to a family room before I got there. Couldn't do enough for you.

They only downside which was manageable was the walls are thin. I could hear the television, toilet and noise of the hand dryers from the downstairs toilets.

I had originally booked this as a double for a solo traveller, then my partner decided to come with me. This was OK'd with the property and there was nothing extra to pay. However on arrival it turned out I'd been put in a twin room. This wasnt a big problem, but the lady on reception offered us a free breakfast to apologise, which we felt was very kind. Loved the location, managed to get a bus to Kings Heath very easily, and also buses into the City were easy to get. Loved the decor in the bar/restaurant. Room was basic, but modern and clean.

Loo seat needs fixing, as it's hanging on with only one fixing.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was light airy and spacious. The towels were of good quality. The pillows and the bed were both very comfy. The breakfast was excellent! The close proximity to Morrisons supermarket, two Indian restaurants. It was easy to walk to Cadbury's World and the train station from there. The local people I met over two days in Bournville were extremely helpful and friendly. The place had a village feel about it and a strong sense of community. I felt really safe there as a solo traveller.

The loo roll holder really needs to be by the side of the toilet-not behind it! Very awkward! I would prefer a wider selection of teabags-( Earl Grey). The customers were eating and drinking only 2 metres from my bedroom window. Had to keep the blinds down at all times-just to get some privacy! It is important to have air conditioning that works, or at least a fan during the hot summer months. The room did get very hot in the afternoons, even with all the windows open.

After an unpleasant stay in London, I was much relieved to see the settings of the inn. The restaurant & bar felt like a good old country inn where folks gather to share good stories. Though ofcourse I didn't really catch up for a conversation with anyone yet the vibe was evident. The room was not unnecessarily cold & spacious like other hotels but just big enough to have a cozy stay. The charging points, bathrooms, side tables, mirrors, windows were all in the perfect spots within the room. The receptionist was very warm & even helped to get a taxi for me in the snowy morning. I would definitely stay there everytime I visit. I forgot my charger there and hope I'll find it when I visit again :)

The Bournbrook is a busy Inn that offers fair priced rooms in the Bournville/ Kings Heath vicinity. Stayed on previous occasions and would look to stay again. There's a fine dining restaurant and large bar area for watching sport, and an outside drinking area.

During this stay our food orders for both times that we dined were delayed and somewhat disappointing, as we had enjoyed our meals there previously. We waited over half an hour for tapas plates, and our Sunday lunch was wrongly served, and underwhelming.

The hotel was clean,, staff were friendly and helpful. Had a nice feel.

The menu was a little to posh and not varied enough. It was noisy during the night starting from 3.30am until about 6.00am,,lots of banging of doors etc.. People not very considerate of others. We had a leak in the bathroom from the ceiling,, the guest above us had obviously left the taps running or the shower bath to overflow.. The receptionist sue was very helpful and did wat she could. So thank you to her.. I am slightly disappointed that no reimbursement was offered to me.. In some way..

The room was very clean and comfortable. The rest of the building was also tidy and well kept.

Unfortunately breakfast was a little understaffed and facilities were under pressure. There was just one young lady who oversaw the whole breakfast dining area. She asked the two of us if we wanted 2 breakfasts and we said yes please. I later realised that was our breakfast order being taken. We hadn't even sat down. We couldn't have orange juice as it ran out. And when we had toasted our bread we had to put the toast in cereal bowls because no plates were available. We were told that the plates were in the dishwasher. The breakfast itself was absolutely fine.

the pub and rooms were pleasant and what I expected. The breakfast was good, buffet style with both hot and cold options and was mostly ready when we arrived in the restaurant early as we had an early start that morning

The dinner the night before was a bit chaotic, despite knowing that we were a large group, there was really only one young girl taking orders etc, she did her best, but some people had to return meals as they were overcooked, one was served her main before the starters, another had to wait around hour and half for a baguette, which was lovely when it arrived. The order for the desserts finally arrived as we were paying the bill ! As is said the staff were doing their best there just was not enough to manage the group. Personally my food was lovely and i thoroughly enjoyed it, but that was not the same for all the group
