Beautiful old building, earliest parts 17th century. Our friends are from Canada and it was such a treat for them to stay in an old English pub. On our arrival the young woman who greeted us was rather frosty but she had warmed up by the second night. The rest of the staff were great. We had one major disappointment. The coffee served with breakfast was instant, very surprising given the high standard of the food both breakfast and dinner. Also, the tea etc in the rooms and the bathroom were products were all lovely and of a very good quality. We were told we could ask for espresso coffee ‘for a small extra charge’. When we checked out we were astonished to be given a bill for 45 pounds for breakfast coffees. We had eaten dinner there 2 nights and spent a lot of money on food and drinks. In the light of this it seemed mean spirited in the extreme and left rather a bad taste after such a positive experience.

Nothing really but the location meant that getting a phone signal was an issue and when we wanted to eat at another pub on our second night, it was impossible to get a taxi or an uber. Not big problems of course.

Everything. This is by far the VERY BEST accommodation we have stayed in over the past 7 weeks travelling throughout Britain and Ireland (and seeing we did a 22 day Insight Vacations tour) this Hotel is far superior to anything Insight had us staying in. The room was spacious, quiet with very comfortable bed and pillows. The bath and shower where great and this Hotel has the best food on offer. The staff are very friendly and attentive. This Hotel is the high bar that every other Hotel in Britain needs to measure up to. Thank you

We loved our stay at The Kings Arms. The room was exceptional, really comfortable. We were upgraded due to a problem with our booking. The staff were very accommodating and attentive. Full of unique charm and history. We ate Sunday lunch, which was fabulous. Well worth a stay.

There was nothing we didn't like about our stay. I was disappointed with Booking.com, though, as I changed our original booking to a different room. Had an email confirming this from Booking.com, but they have taken both payments for two rooms. Even though the property sorted this out for us. Have to try and get £125 back now!!!

This was a very nice stay. Kings Arms is close enough to Bath for a visit, but remote enough for a quiet stay. The building and facilities appear to be renovated recently. Staff is super-friendly an helpful. Food and drinks are very good. Room is nicely decorated, bed is comfortable and breakfast provides all you need for a good start! I definitely would stay there again, once in the area!

That I did not stay any longer...

Lovely room and comfortable bed. The pub is very attractive and has a nice atmosphere. The staff were very helpful when asked for information. We had dinner in the evening and the food was superb. Very pleased to find that there was no additional charge for dogs - thank you for making all of us welcome.

We were travelling with dogs who would have found the spiral staircase very difficult (not easy for luggage either) but fortunately another guest directed us to the fire escape outside which was more accessible. In older buildings this sort of feature is part of the charm but always useful to know in advance, as it could be a no-go for some guests. All the fittings in the bathroom were very nice but the shower was overhead without a hand attachment which is always helpful for hair washing. These points should not detract from our stay though, which was most enjoyable and we would certainly stay again.

What an amazing place! Pub looks so beautiful from the outside. This was a late booking for us & it far exceeded our expectations. Beautiful on the inside too - pristinely clean room and great size. Lots of different teas on our hospitality tray as well as biscuits & a fridge for milk/water, which is a lovely touch. Will definitely return! Equidistant between Bath & Bradford on Avon which suited us, as we were visiting Bath both days.

Nothing, all was perfect and we wished we'd had time to go down to the bar in the evening, or stay for breakfast, as it looked lovely & welcoming. Unfortunately we had to rush off to be elsewhere.

Lovely old pub with restaurant serving good food. We stayed in the 'King's Suite' which was very spacious and had a comfortable king sized bed, large bathroom with huge claw bath and separate shower. It also had a small sitting room with extra couch and TV. All tastefully decorated. Would highly recommend this pub especially if travelling by car as it had large adjoining parking space.

Lovely countryside setting in quiet picturesque village with a bus stop right outside. We were upgraded with no extra cost into a large suite, gorgeous roll top stand alone bath, separate tv viewing area with countryside views. Massive comfy bed with a comfy sofa bed so could accommodate 4 people easily. Various Tea, coffee, hot chocolates to choose from. Hairdryer, iron etc.. Fantastic food, varied menu catering for most. We had Ribeye steak which just melted in your mouth. Lots to choose from for breakfast too and we weren't badgered to get up too early for..Friendly chatty staff. Owner even showed up to enquire about our stay.

Beautiful bath could do with some complimentary bubble bath.

Lovely pub with great food, and accommodation, we had the Kings room, which has space, plenty of space, a radiator stained carpet, which is a shame, overall it is clean and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom is huge, shower and Bath. Bedroom, large, with sofa, very clean, a little dusty but tea coffee and all you need available. Stairs to our bedroom, outside access.

need a car to get about. nothing in the area to walk to that we could find. access is outside stairs. Fridge is on the floor. paintwork in the bathroom has been water damaged.

Clean room, quiet location, decent restaurant, friendly hosts.

Not a bad full english breakfast but we weren't offered a choice of eggs. More importantly, I don't really think it's acceptable to serve instant coffee with breakfast at this price level. Limited evening menu. Cups taken away and not replaced - just a moan as I had to go down to ask for some.
