Beautiful decor, inside of Georgian house. It was warm and clean, good breakfast too. Host was friendly and welcoming, provided all the information needed. House beautiful and with attention to detail. Location was good and easy to walk into the centre of Bath.

Bathroom was separate from the room, even though was next to our room felt uncomfortable parading to bathroom through hallway that is shared with other people especially going to toilet in the middle of night. Had no idea that would need to leave the room to use bathroom otherwise would bring sleepers too. Bed too soft and noisy bed frame.

A Majestic Journey Back in Time: Grosvenor Villa's Georgian Splendor! I had the privilege of immersing myself in history and luxury during my stay at the exquisite Grosvenor Villa. From the moment I set foot in the grand entrance hall, it was evident that this place held a captivating story within its walls. The architectural beauty of the villa is truly mesmerizing. The fact that Grosvenor Villa was built specifically to house the former high altar of Bath Abbey adds an extra layer of historical significance, and the altar-piece displayed in the entrance hall is a breathtaking sight to behold. My room was a perfect blend of old-world charm and modern comfort. The spacious accommodations provided a relaxing atmosphere, and the attention to detail in the interior design was commendable. I felt like I was stepping back in time while still enjoying all the amenities of the present day. As a history enthusiast, staying at Grosvenor Villa was a dream come true. The blend of Georgian architecture and the remnants of Bath Abbey's altar-piece create an ambiance that is simply unforgettable. Whether you're a history lover or seeking a luxurious retreat, Grosvenor Villa is the perfect destination. In conclusion, my stay at Grosvenor Villa exceeded all expectations. I cannot recommend this hotel enough to anyone seeking an exceptional experience that combines history, luxury, and impeccable service.

The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The villa was full of interesting art and Richards collection of personal pieces. The altar where Jane Austin prayed was an interesting historical addition to the house.

The stairs were challenging. There were 2 levels of steep stairs and then a very steep set of steps to the top floor, very difficult with your luggage. The bathroom was not attached to our room, it is advertised as a private bathroom, so we assumed it would be within our room. Parking is on the street.

Richard was incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. The breakfast was varied with plenty of food to.go around again Richard was very accommodating and made our stay fantastic. We would highly recommend this as a place to stay for a weekend in Bath!

It was quite a walk from the villa.to the town centre but as it was gorgeous weather the walk along the canal was enjoyable. Richard was great at providing all the information we needed to travel to and from the hotel and taxis we cheap even though it was a bank holiday.

It's not often that I find myself actually wanting to leave a great review, to be frank, it's usually a bit of a pain but when everything was so great I feel that we owe Richard more than a few moments to say thank you and to try and let other travelers thinking of a stay in Bath that the Grovenor Villa is definitely a fabulous place to base yourself. The House is beautiful, luxurious, and full of class. Just outside the city a short walk, bus ride, or taxi journey finds you in reach of everything Bath is famous for. The photos don't come close to letting you know how lovely the house is. I couldn't recommend this highly enough. Richard, thank you so much for a lovely stay.

A nice small Hotel with a bit of history connecting it to the local area. Clean and tidy. Our host Richard was extremely friendly. The city centre is a short but picturesque walk alongside the canal and down through Sydney Park. Massive double bed. Really comfy. Would definitely stay again.

Can't think of any negatives really. Parking might be an issue as there is no on site parking. But we found free parking in the street behind the hotel as Richard had instructed.

We had a wonderful stay at Grosvenor Villa celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Richard was an excellent host, very welcoming, knowledgeable and has a great sense of humour. The continental style breakfast was excellent with a good variety of things to choose from including fresh fruit, toast, cheeses, cereals and pastries. Our room was spotless and the bed extremely comfy, it was the first time we’ve slept in a four poster bed! We chose the room with the en-suite bathroom which has a walk in shower, again this was spotlessly clean. We got a taxi into Bath city centre for our evening meal and was charged a very reasonable £6.50 there and £7 back. Overall our stay was fabulous and we’d definitely recommend The Grosvenor Villa with all it’s wonderful charm.

Nothing!

Loved the feel of Grosvenor Villa - Richard was the perfect host telling us about the Grosvenor Villa and the history. We loved the decor and our room was big and comfortable. Everything was just how the video/photos showed and plenty of places to park. Beautiful continental breakfast too! Location was perfect with a lovely 20 minute walk along the canal into Bath City. We loved our stay and would totally recommend.

There was absolutely nothing not to like!

All as described. A very beautiful historical building, clean, warm room and large comfortable bed. Very tasty breakfast, which is served in an elegant dining room. Nice spacious bathroom with free toiletries. Tea/water/biscuits in the room. Convenient to walk to center of Bath along the canal. A very friendly host.

Nothing! Would be nice to have a hook or smth to hang coats near room door. This is probably the only improvement I would suggest.

A real gem! This wonderful B&B has fascinating history, and the owner, Richard was a wonderfully attentive host too and recommended great places to visit in Bath which we very much enjoyed. The room was most comfortable, bed was huge and could just fall into bed and nod off within about 5 minutes! Breakfast was small and intimate, with a perfect cup of coffee and wonderful porridge made just how I’m used to. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday, and Richard really helped us make it special in the low key way he wanted. My husband even had Happy Birthday played to him on the piano by one of the guests! We would have stayed another night if we could, and will certainly be back.

The only thing I would say, genuinely only tiny thing is a dressing table for me (handy for ladies) to sit and get ready and a full length mirror.
