Old Mill Hotel & Lodge

The first morning the breakfast was very sparse and the trays not replenished. Only one fried egg left, that I had but that was cold. Only A few beans. No sausages.

Breakfast could’ve been hotter. The water mill just below our room no 108 kept me awake. I tried to sleep on the duvet on the bathroom floor but the fan kept running so went back to the bed. I I then called reception. It was about 1.30am. The receptionist came up and said he’d stop the mill wheel running.

The receptionist lady was very welcoming, polite and very easy to get on with, a real nice warm welcome. The waitress in the restaurant was also very polite and provided a great service. Food was amazing, we had Dinner at the restaurant and it was great, as was breakfast, which was delicious. All in all a great stay, great location and a would love to come back in the summer months, but have a larger room this time. Couldn't ask for more if you're looking for a weekend / overnight in Bath. Thank you all.

I went for the budget room, which was a little tight for space between bed and wall. This is not a complaint, as it stated it was the cheapest room, and although it was perfect for our needs, we would just want a little more floor area, so if you like a little space, go for the one option up, otherwise, it was perfect in terms of comfort, cleanliness and facilities.

We were upgraded to a room in the hotel (rather than lodge), which was great - larger and with better facilities (fridge). Bed was comfortable & nice bathroom. Good location - attractive 50 min walk along canal towpath to the centre of Bath. We really liked the ‘Gather’ cafe on Batheaston High St.

The outside of the hotel is a little tatty. The cooked breakfast was good but there was no fresh bread, croissants or fruit. The price for room & breakfast seems high. But, over all, we had a good stay. Thank you.

This hotel is in an ideal location for getting to Bath and is in a peaceful setting near to the quaint toll bridge. Our room was on the top floor in the annex with a lovely view of the river. It had all the necessary facilities and was really clean, light and airy and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was of a really good size. The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choice and again a lovely view over to the bridge and the river. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly during our stay and we would definitely recommend staying here. We ate in the restaurant on our first evening and the food was excellent. We both had the steak and it was absolutely delicious.

I had my room upgraded, so I was very happy with the accommodation I ended up with. The view from the room was amazing, and the bed was very comfy. Breakfast was what I would of expected, but nonetheless enjoyable. The Location of the hotel was wonderful next to the river, and near some farming fields, nice and quiet except for the sounds of the river and the waterwheel, but those were bonuses, and were pleasant to sleep to.

The Shower took a long time to heat up from cold, at least a few minutes, and the soap dispenser in the shower occasionally didn't work properly.

We loved the location not too far from bath . We caught a bus into town 3.50 return . The bus stop was located about a 5min walk from hotel as parking was very limited in town and expensive. The canal and track around the hotel was great for my morning run.

The rooms were too hot . I asked for a bigger fan as the little one they gave us did not work . No one came back to me . There was no fruit or herbal teas at breakfast. No oat milk remember to bring your own .

Staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Room was lovely and clean, it had and iron, ironing board, fridge, kettle with tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer, a safe and a TV. The bed was comfy, the shower was clean, the toilet was a little loose but spotless. The breakfast was lovely and the staff were again really helpful and kept the tables and food areas clean and topped up without having to request it. We have stayed before and will definitely stay again! We highly recommend the Old Mill for a tranquil short break.

Nothing I would change

Location, right next to the Avon River Stayed in the lodge. Excellent shower, recently refurbished rooms, new beds and bedding Outdoor table by the river, very pleasant

One chef called in sick, so they had to close the kitchen, so no evening meal. Slightly misleading website. The main photos showed the hotel, and as we didn't open the room we selected, we didn't see that it was for the lodge. Also, it's definitely not 40 minutes walk to Bath. Walked for 1 hour along the beautiful canal path but didn't reach city centre. Tennant Avon canal nearby, interesting to see canal narrow boats chugging along

The rooms where lovey and clean and the view was great, location was great ,hopped on a bus to city centre it was easier then parking and so easy to and from city centre .The hotel didnt have lunch ordering like sandwiches as i think it was short staffed which was not good so u could only get main meal in the evening which was lovely. Breackfast was everything you need and hot . They didnt have any wash products in the bathroom which there should of been soap. The garden area could do with a make over in the sense of garden furniture and decking needed staining which is little things really but would make a difference. All staff where very polite and welcoming.

Garden area was not inviting really , no lunch ordering i think due to being short staffed ? and bathroom needs some small products like a bar of soap and maybe bodywash just in case customers forget theres but its miner things really..

The location of the Hotel is outstanding. Situated on the bank of the river, with a working waterwheel, we could not have had a better view for breakfast. It was very hot during our stay and as there is no air conditioning, the fan in the room was very welcome. The young lady on reception was extremely helpful and friendly. We didnt eat at the hotel but met someone who told us the food there is good, and our buffet style breakfast offered all we wanted with both hot choices and cereals, yoghurts, toast etc.

One of the external steps to the first floor needed attention, and we mentioned this to the receptionist.
