The room was beautifully decorated, lovely attention to detail and very comfortable. The staff were really helpful and friendly. My favourite tiny detail was the fairly dim motion sensitive light in the bathroom so you didn’t have to turn on the full light if you needed the loo at night. The Wi-Fi was very fast, and there was soundproofing that meant the room was very quiet, despite being close to the centre. The street itself is actually quite quiet, and there was a delicious creperie just next door. We were also able to leave our bags securely while we were exploring Bristol after we checked out, which was very appreciated.

Our room was a little too warm, although the air-conditioning helped with that once we located it under the coat rack. The door keys failed to work a couple of times and had to be reset, although the staff were very helpful whenever that was needed.

What a beautiful hotel and pub, the attention to detail is second to mine the decor is absolutely amazing. The bed is comfortable….in fact I could not ask for a more elegant beautiful room. For £115 in the middle of a great city this hotel is better than anywhere we have stayed in London for £400. The bar downstairs suits the hotel perfectly, the colours chosen are just to our taste and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Our room is very peaceful and cosy the whole place is Art deco themed and very well done too. We have not had food yet but it looks lovely. We would definitely stay here again when we come to Bristol.

nothing at all. there is not a thing bad to say about this hotel.

Had the perfect stay, great location, very central & friendly staff. The rooms are newly and very tastefully decorated and you'll find everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The bar & restaurant serves a selection of great food and drinks. Or you could venture just minutes away and find other good restaurants. There is also parking (with a long stay parking option available) two minutes walk from the hotel, which made parking, super easy. Very pleased we chose to stay at this location, couldn't have been happier. Everything was fantastic.

Nothing.

We had a lovely time at Hort's Townhouse. Ideally located in the heart of Bristol, comfortable and well thought out room, great gastropub, super helpful staff and very dog friendly. We booked a dog friendly room, which we knew would involve an extra cleaning fee (fair enough really). We were delighted to find a snuggly dog bed and a big dog bowl in the room when we arrived, its a really sweet touch that makes you feel more comfortable and relaxed about having a dog in a hotel. The room was nicely decorated, sort of modern art deco, well thought out. We were on the top floor, no windows but a great skylight which brought lots of natural light into the room, yet a clever control to draw a shade over the skylight so you could sleep in on sunny mornings. The location was ideal for us and the dog, we could walk everywhere - Castle Park, St Nicholas Market (outdoor parts dog-friendly but you can't go inside), the canals and quays, Bristol Cathedral (dog friendly!) and I really recommend Brandon Park as a great dog friendly park for morning walks. Definitely try to make it to Clifton and the Clifton observatory, another great place for pups. Bristol generally is a great place for dogs and people! Hort's Townhouse staff were all super friendly and checked we were OK throughout. The breakfast was great! And there was a little side street we could access from the gastropub and from the accommodation area which was very useful for doggie pee breaks in the early hours and at night. We loved our stay and hope to come back!

Very minor: The room did get a bit hot (normal for a top floor room on sunny days), thankfully we could use the air-conditioning. Perhaps something that could also help in the top rooms would be a floor fan for guests to use if needed? Just a suggestion, it may not be practical.

Wow, this place is perfection. From customer service leading into our stay (thanks Marion!) to the thoughtfulness of every small detail throughout the hotel (a nicely stocked honesty bar, welcome treats, lovely linens, design, usb ports for easy international traveler phone charging, INCREDIBLY comfy bed) Hort’s exceeded every expectation. The old city center location was brilliant and we were smitten with Bristol’s walkability and whimsy. The bar and restaurant were lovely. We cannot wait to visit again. Seriously, just book this place.

Cannot think of a single thing. 🤯 Good job everyone at Hort’s Townhouse.

A wonderful place to spend a few days in Bristol. Centrally located by walking to everything. Room exactly as pictured. Spacious, nicely decorated, essentials at hand. Double glazing solutions so don’t hear anything from outside. Bed very comfortable. Bathroom narrowing cleverly design so still feels spacious. Found the night light under the toilet genius. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only ate snacks in the restaurant pub area but these were delicious. Lots of leather chairs and sofas to sink into. Even a nice small courtyard outside to sit and have drinks. Dog friendly. Would definitely visit again.

Minor comments of which point 2 and 3 are not really something the hotel can do anything about but good to know. 1. cleaning team, especially the head manager should first look around and see if any do not disturb signs hanging outside any doors before beginning team chat in hall early morning. Despite our sign was woken by the peep talk and continuous chatter and cleaning from outside our door. 2. unloading/loading near to the hotel a nightmare as street a sort of one way cut de sac but cars trying to still go both ways as well as quick unload/load. 3. no own parking. NCP parking however very nearby. Costa about 24 gbp fir 24 hours.

the hotel itself was absolutely beautiful, but our room... was not prepared for how beautiful it was. the bathroom was stunning, the decoration of the room was gorgeous and the complimentary items were such a lovely touch. There were dressing gowns to use, lovely shampoos and body washes to use. The TV was super modern with Netflix, YouTube etc to use (we didn't but we did use it to listen to music). The coffee machine in the room was a fantastic touch. we stayed in room 18 and had our own private staircase to our room which made us feel really posh. and my favourite part- the skylights were so gorgeous complete with electric remote control blinds to keep it nice and dark for sleeping. Staff were all so lovely and welcoming and we just had a lovely comfortable stay, wish we stayed longer.

loved everything, not a single complaint. only thing that we did wish there was parking on site but not a complaint at all.

The location is very good, central and in an interesting part of the old city. However, because of the narrowness of the street and works going on to buildings opposite, taxi's can be delayed when going to or from the hotel.

The hotel/pub was in its early days of opening under new ownership and the staff were still being recruited/trained and the liaision between various memebers was not as good as it will be once it has been established for longer. There was a technical problem with the lift when we stayed but staff were helpfull in takings cases to our room.

The decor was modern and appealing and the staff very friendly. There were a couple of interesting beers on tap which I appreciated. There's a nice area to sit outside and the staff ask patrons to move inside before it gets late which is great if you want to go to bed early.

Only minor points. The room treats, I think they were truffles, were missing and the selection of tea/coffee small. The door to the room was a little low - we're not giants 6,2/6,3 but had to duck. Trivial stuff that didn't spoil the stay.
