The breakfasts were good, plentiful and tasty - they even had vegan breakfast which was great. The location was good, nice big carpark and two electric charging points (although someone was constantly parking and not charging in one). The bar area was nice and the staff were super friendly. The towels and bed linen were excellent and super clean, the beds were comfy and I was able to open the window which was great as it was warm. The shower was good, clean and powerful and always hot water. The toiletries and tea/coffee were good quality and replenished regularly.

The walls seemed to be quite thin and so I could hear TV and people talking through them quite loudly. The food was good but not amazing, I think there could be some improvement there, but the portions were good and the service was efficient and friendly. The atmosphere was good and we got chatting to the staff and the other customers which was nice.

The room is part of a pub so you get all of the facilities as part of the accommodation. The restaurant is particularly good for excellent quality meals in a nice pub atmosphere. It does get busy though (because it is so good), so book your table when you book your room. The electric car charging points are also a bonus, but there are only two and they can't be pre-booked. They are relatively slow as well 11kwh, but a real bonus to have this facility if you have an electric vehicle.

The rooms are starting to look a bit tired. Maybe do a few simple things like wash the windows and this will improve the overall appearance.

Nice surroundings, nice old pub, friendly staff, managed to charge our electric car there, once dowloaded app. Room was fairly large, was by a noisy road, but once closed windows & secoundary double glazing, all was well. Had a seating area outside & dinner & breakfast were very nice. The breakfast had lots of choice & plenty of choice of hot cooked breakfast. Lots of fresh fruit, cereal, fresh milk, fruit juices, bread choice if wanted toast & jam/marmalade. Plus yoghurt etc .You could have plenty of tea & coffee.

Unfortunately the shower door kept coming off its rail, did manage to put back on.

The location and accommodation was great and really comfortable. It was a nice change from the usual chain hotels with a more personable experience welcome. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful with really good produce. Staff were great and the resterauant was great with a good selection at reasonable prices. I would recommend this property to anyone.

The only thing that I didn't like was the road noise. The pub is located on a busy road that doesn't quieten down until late in the evening. Secondary glazing helps but it still doesn't keep out all of the noise which can't be helped. Overall I had a good nights sleep so cant complain too much

Breakfast was nice I would have liked more coffee but to be fair I didn’t ask! My very large young dog was made very welcome by all the staff and he was very happy! So that makes for a happy trip. I have stayed a couple of times but it was first time for my friend and she was impressed too! I booked in advance so had a good price which makes it affordable when you add on your pets stay. Room was so clean and comfortable and I like the 11am check out it means you can enjoy breakfast with out rushing.

I would have liked more towels in the room as it was two females and we need towels for hair and it means we had to use hand towels! If I could suggest extra towels in room that would be great!

My daughter and I stayed for one night on Saturday 11th Feb. Due to her Netball commitments, we do have quite of few overnight stays across the UK. We had an evening meal on Saturday night, which was very good, and we had breakfast on the Sunday that was delicious. I had the full English breakfast and daughter had maple syrup pancakes with bacon. Our room was clean and very comfortable. The staff were so helpful and friendly from the moment we checked in, until the moment checked out. First class from the team at The Red Lion.. My daughter commented that this was one of the best places she has stayed on the many weekends we have had away.

Nothing we didn't like. The staff were so helpful and friendly from the moment we checked in, until the moment checked out. First class from the team at The Red Lion..

The best thing about this venue is how friendly and helpful the staff are. They are absolutely fantastic. They work really hard but did not show it and always had time to help. It was is a busy place and nice to see a pub / restaurant doing so well.

If you are not a late owl the noise from the bar area and kitchens does come up into the rooms but it did not go on very late and we all got a good nights sleep. It is a bit awkward that there is a steepish ramp out of the car park to get to the front of the hotel where there is the only no step entrance - and the front door seems to be locked during the day - so not sure what you would do if you were trying to get in that way during the day and did not have someone who could go up the stairs at the side to ask someone to open the door. Maybe they have a door bell that I did not notice. There is no lift in the building so the hotel rooms are not accessible if you can't use stairs and there are various heavy doors.

The staff were very accommodating. The breakfast was nice. The bedrooms were a good size, as were the bathrooms. Big car park with plenty of parking for free. The pub itself was lovely, as was the food. There was a welcome pack, coffee and tea facilities and biscuits, which were very much appreciated.

The pillows were a little uncomfortable. We asked for no feathered pillows in our rooms, but the spare pillows that we needed had feathers in, which was a worry due to us having allergies to feathers.

Really spacious room and bathroom, with all facilities, including iron, and all toiletries. Very comfortable bed!! Amazing staff, we had noisy neighbours during the night and they sorted them out as soon as we reported them. Fabulous breakfast, plenty of car park, amazing location to Snowdonia and Lake District! 24 hour access as you get the front door key with your room key. Great price as well, would definitely stay again if ever headed that way!

Very good shower but quite a small cubicle. The room had a little odour of dog when we first walked in, not sure if pets are allowed. I would still stay again, those are just little things.

Located in a pretty little village in close proximity to Bury & Bolton. The room was characterful and spacious with lovely dual aspect windows and all the home comforts required for a short stay. We selected breakfast included and really enjoyed the options available and having our breakfast cooked to order and delivered hot. We also enjoyed dinner in the restaurant which was very tasty. All the staff were really helpful and happy to have a chat - we definitely felt welcome.

The shower is a little difficult to get in and out of and the pillows were a little too soft for my partner. Some might find the road noise a little off putting however it did not disturb our sleep.
