Warm and very welcoming greeting from Rosie. We were only staying the one night en route. The room was perfect, the bed very comfortable and the continental breakfast delivered to the door was great. The complementary prosecco and beer in the mini fridge were very welcome, as were the coffee pods. The view from the room overlooking the valley with the Peel monument on the hillside beyond was stunning, that is until the mist and rain set in! Overall a very pleasant short stay which we could heartily recommend.

The only downside was the rainy and misty weather! Otherwise for one night, we couldn't fault the stay.

Firstly we were impressed upon arrival, we’d arrived slightly early and were allowed to leave our case with the lovely member of staff whilst we had a couple of drinks in the wonderful beer garden. Our room was fantastic, and had a well stocked fridge which was all complimentary 😊our evening meal was cooked to perfection ( cheese and onion pie and fish n chips) we had a nice night around Ramsbottom then came back around 10:30 for a night cap or 2😉After a wonderful nights sleep came downstairs for a scrumptious breakfast of kippers and poached eggs for me and full English for the missus. We’ll definitely be back in the not too distant future. 5 stars to Rosie and the team. Wonderful

Nothing, everything was spot on. Rosie is the hostess with the mostest and nothing is too much trouble. We came back fully relaxed and rejuvenated. Ps the walk in shower was terrific

Our room (Eagle Owl) was gorgeous - really beautifully decorated and very spacious. It felt luxurious! The facilities in terms of tea / coffee and the items thoughtfully left in the fridge (prosecco, beer, milk, apple & orange juice, yoghurts), were all great, and the kind of treats we wouldn't usually expect when staying in a pub. The fact there's a separate side entrance for guests was very handy, meaning you didn't have to continuously come and go through the restaurant. Breakfast for us was a highlight! As we stayed during a weeknight, it was a continental breakfast left outside the door each morning in a cute wicker basket. I can't stress enough how delightful this was! Finding an overflowing basket, with fresh pastries, fruit and cereal, outside your door made the simple act of breakfast feel exciting.

You could hear quite a bit of noise from the main road running next to the pub. It didn't disturb us too much, but might be one to be aware of for light sleepers.

The room and furniture very nice. The drinks and crisp in the room are very nice.

The grout in the shower is black with mould. Also has an orange built up of mould so isn’t getting cleaned properly. Needs mould remover spray or new grout. Let’s the room down badly. Traffic noise at the front is very disturbing, it isn’t constant but what there is was loud. I would not book a room at the front again. I would have to pay the £40/£50 difference to book a room at the back to avoid the traffic noise. Car park very small and tight. We had got blocked in, luckily the owner of the car was eating breakfast and moved the car but not sure what would happen if they were not there to move it if they were asleep or out for the day??? Might be better to park on the main road to avoid it happening.

I visit the Eagle and Child often because I travel for work, and it's by far the nicest place to stay in the area. I've tried a few other places but none compare. The staff are always super helpful and friendly, the rooms are lovely, and the extra touches like a breakfast hamper, and the offer of 'bits you may have left at home', and even the pack of crisps. It all makes such a difference. Like home away from home.

Parking is sometimes an issue when staying over, but there is lots of roadside parking which is right next to the venue.

There are beautiful rooftop and hillside views from the spacious rooms at the back of the hotel. The view at night is particularly wonderful with twinkling lights stretching off into the distance. The vegan breakfasts ordered were excellent with cereal, granola, juice, breakfast bars, oat milk and plentiful fruit everyday. So many little extras and thoughtful touches. This was our second stay, visiting family nearby. Thanks to Rosie, Troy and the housekeeping team for making us welcome.

All good.

The service was brilliant, really friendly staff, also very helpful the food in the restaurant was exceptional and very tasty, we went for the NYE event we had fizz on arrival, canapés and bacon butties just past midnight it was lovely. The room was of high standard, the decor was beautiful and stunning views of the peel brow pike from our window. Breakfast in the morning was delightful with a continental option aswell as your full breakfast options. Also the room came with complimentary drinks (prosecco and Budweiser), apple juice, orange juice milk and glass bottles water free of charge!! This hotel has everything you could possibly forget already in the room to use (hairdryer, straighteners, fan, shower cap, toiletries etc) Overall this hotel is a must for a couple's weekend away.

The only thing I would recommend to improve this hotel would be maybe a hot tub/jacuzzi set up.

The room was exceptionally clean, with added amenities like menstrual pads, which we felt was a very thoughtful and inclusive addition. Staff were all entirely accommodating, welcoming and friendly, showing off the best of northern hospitality. Both of us have dietary requirements and our adorable breakfast hampers were lovingly catered to us. We left very early in the morning and they specifically prepared us a hamper and a bag to take everything on the road with us. Truly a wonderful stay and we will be back.

Nothing. Everything was lovely.

Everything. Easy parking. Immediately greeted when entered, taken straight up to our room. Emergency exit pointed out on way plus spare personal toiletries, teas and coffees. Lovely large bedroom with good size bathroom. Coffee machine, kettle, good size tv. Plus fridge with complimentary prosecco, beer, water. Also in the fridge are bottles of fresh milk, fruit juice and fresh yoghurt to accompany breakfast, consisting of a choice of cereals in mini kilner jars, croissants and cinnamon whirls, which is delivered outside room door in a small hamper with appropriate crockery and cutlery. Returned to the bar/restaurant once settled in, to be greeted and served with a drink then to our table. In daylight the view was spectacular so may have to return next year! The meals we had were delicious.

Absolutely loved everything about the place, room was spotless and super homely unlike other places we have stayed. Staff were super friendly and couldn't of done anymore for us. Loved how quirky the whole place was, amazing price for what you get. Everything was spotless, it looked amazing though the pictures and other reviews but it honestly exceeded my expectations. So much better in perosn. They were that kind to even leave sandwiches and crisps in our room because we were arriving late after a 5 hours drive. The fridge in the room with the little freebies they put inside is the cherry on top. I would 100% stay there again and recommend to anyone going that way.

Honestly I have nothing bad to say about the place it was superb.
