The staff were excellent and were so helpful after I was scammed by a fictitious vendor on the day of arrival regarding a previous booking with Booking.con. The staff understood I was a woman travelling alone and couldn't have been more respectful. My biggest thanks goes to Alan who worked on main reception everyday, who made sure I was looked after and was always cheerful even when I felt my worst.

I only experienced one problem whilst I was there, and that was when my room radiator stopped working. The reception staff went above and beyond to rectify this and it was fixed within 24 hours.

The location and friendly helpful staff.. couldn't fault them at all.. made us very welcome indeed. Bed comfy and nice white sheets, towels and great to have an iron and hair drier too ... tv worked which was also a bonus. Thank you everyone for making our week great 👍

The hotel was very dated in both the rooms and the building..really could do with a make over.. there was cigarette burns on the furniture and dirty marks on the bathroom vanity unit... could also have done with a table top fridge for milk etc.. no music playing in the bar area and so it was just like a waiting zone rather than a leisure area.

They explained that the roomkey only works in one specific orientation. I thought that was nice that they explained it. I apologise if this sounds sarcastic, it is interesting that the couple behind me at reception had not taken the trouble to listen and were complaining that the room key did not work! They were using it upside down! Unbeleivable Geoff. Staff really polite, friendly and down to earth. Breakfast was absolutely brilliant. I thought charging an extra quid on Sunday was a little cheeky though.

Paying £3-40 for a can of Guinness - A CAN! They're a quid in the Asda...

The Brittania Hotel in Bolton is located on the outskirts. The rooms are similar to what you would get if you have booked into a travelodge or Premier Inn. Not sure if they did prices cheaper if you booked further in advance. Parking was easy and check in was hassle free. The bed was comfortable and the room was airy as they left the window open with it being a warm day.

Vending machines looked dated at the entrance to the accomodation block, they looked similar to the machines that I used to have in my High School which I had left 20 years ago.

Staff in the morning seemed very helpful and bubbly. It got the point where I booked another night. Unfortuntely the night staff don't seem as bubbly but staff at night can get tiring as I've done night shifts before so I don't blame them. They still helped out when the lift was having a weird issue where it had a mind of it's own though which I appreciated.

There isn't much to be said. I turned up and they followed all requests that I put on there in regards to having an accessible room and they had no reason to receive a bad review. I am a regular customer here at this hotel for this reason.

Staff were friendly and welcoming, access to the hotel was off the main road, quiet and a scenic view considering the location. Main hotel was lovely inside and well decorated. Room well furnished with sturdy, simple furniture as you'd hope and clean fresh towels provided along with clean mugs for your morning coffee.

Bed was firm, ok if you like that type of bed. A few patches of DIY needed in the room I stayed in. Food menu was limited, bar closed early but that wasn't a bad thing necessarily. Much noise is easily made by doors closing, some guests weren't so fussy about the noise they made at silly o'clock in the morning but not the fault of the hotel.

Room was a good size, nice bathroom and I could overlook my car in the car park. Bed was a bit hard and a bit lumpy but to be fair I had a good nights sleep. I did not partake of any food, but I have stayed a number of times previously over the last 5 years and the breakfast at least is good

Not directly a problem with the hotel but a few guests sitting outside the front entrance drinking and were quite loud and could be heard 80-100m away if the windows were open - even though those culprits were only 2-3m away from each other. Would be nice if such things could be contained in some way or guests to be advised to control volume to respect other guests.

Staff we're very accommodating, many of my family members were all staying at the hotel for a funeral we came from all over the uk, and the bar was brilliant.

The kettles seem to have been recently descaled and we ended unable to use them because the water tasted disgusting, the bathroom wasnt very clean and the towels were tiny! Also the charge for wifi was ridiculous!
