The breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice. The bar staff were friendly and helpful. The new owners tried to contact us to let us know that food was not available on a Monday. Due to complications with the previous tenant they could not contact me through booking .com

We arrived on Monday at about 14 30, this was a problem as there was nobody until 15 00. This should be made aware for anyone booking. Also after 6pm on a Sunday there is no food available , to add to this no food is available on Monday at all

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful We were greeted with smiles when we got in and was then introduced to the landlady/caretaker/gardener/ owner / etc. who was so friendly and welcoming the food was good. but the breakfast was incredible. The room was up a few stairs which i cant remember if i noticed this on the booking or not - but the room was clean and quiet. The WIFI was a bit slow - but I wasn't expecting it to be fast as we were in the country All in all - great place!!

I found the dinner was a bit spicy for my liking, but that is just me being picky.

Stayed overnight on my way to Cheltenham. First time visitor. Great location, near enough to the road network for convenience but in the village location so very quiet. The room was perfect, with authentic old world charm (sloping floors etc.) but decorated to a high standard, and very comfortable. My room had a bath which was nice. The food was very good. Breakfast was excellent. Really nice pub, which closed around 9ish, depending on the number of customers, so perfect as a place for a quiet nights sleep. Overall the service was the standout element for me, which was excellent. I’ll definitely be back when next in the area.

A fantastically warm welcome awaits you - every member of staff is incredibly welcoming and accommodating - nothing is too much trouble. Rooms very comfortable and relaxing. Great walks on your doorstep. A brilliant location in the heart of the Cotswolds. Great for visiting Cirencester and surrounding area. Fantastic wine list! Extensive. The perfect cosy pub!

The food for dinner was slightly over priced for what you got. Breakfasts on the other hand were fantastic & delicious

Quaint Cotswolds pub. Surprisingly quiet but lots of atmosphere. Outstanding breakfast, fabulous local beers. I really enjoyed my stay. Very comfortable and the staff did their best over everything.

The male staff member being nasty to the female member was unacceptable, verging on bullying her. The urine stained toilet seat could do with replacing. The warning about the hot water was expected to mean it's very hot but this was just about tepid. None of this was serious enough to put me off returning. Note, the photo of the bed is after I'd slept in it. The room was made up perfectly on arrival.

Ample parking available. Nice outside beer garden, complete with Indian road runner ducks! Very good breakfast included. Bed was very comfortable and clean. Pleasant restaurant and bar areas.

Room was smaller than expected. En-suite had no where to put anything down! These days most people have lots of toiletries and need a shelf or two to put stuff on. Generally the room decoration was very quite tired and a bit shabby in places. The bedroom windows needed a bit of maintenance to make them easier to open/close!

The bed was comfortable with plently of pillows ,big bath for relaxing and the Team there were really lovley and welcoming. Breakfast was good which made up for the pace of service , if your on tight schedule speak to the team before hand. Dinner was really tasty but resturant doesn't open on Monday and Tuesday, bear in mind the menu online won't be the same as in the pub as they serve organic food and this will depend on what's been grown/available so just ask ahead of time, if you like a bit of spice the crispy mac and cheese is a great choice for a starter

There wasn't anything that we didn't like but if we have to say something it would be that the coffee wasn't to our liking not sure if it was over extracted or just to mild for our taste buds. The toilet seat in our room was clean but stained so would either need replacing or soaking in bleach.

the cosy atmosphere given by the hosts. the bar was well stocked with plenty of choices. The breakfasts well excellent plenty to eat. we had one evening meal which was ok choice’s we’re a bit limited. The room was lovely and bed was great, bathroom had everything you would need. The outside area was great lovely little river running and plenty of seating areas.

lack of choices on menus no catering for intolerances or gluten free meals. Not the host fault as tied in to a brewery choices.

Very friendly helpful and attentive staff. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Excellent breakfasts cooked beautifully, we also had an excellent dinner. Room and everywhere fresh, clean and tidy. Good location for where we were attending the wedding. Wonderful countryside and walks straight from the Bathurst Arms.

There were no dislikes We would have preferred if the room had been slightly larger and the bathroom was a little tired.

Lovely place. Really nice and clean rooms, just what you need for a few days' stay. Very comfy bed, quiet room. The whole inn is really cosy, with great beer garden and cute bar with a fireplace which makes it very cosy. Good breakfast. Close to the main attractions in the area by car but good starting point for trekking/cycling too.

Agree with those who said the bar's food menu is very pricey for the area, although the food we had was great both quality and quantity wise, so worth giving it a try if you can but if you can't, Cirencester is only a few mins drive where you'll find lots of restaurants at various price ranges.
