The Fleece at Cirencester

Staff very friendly and helpful. Very comfortable bed and an excellent breakfast.. All mod-cons as required in room. First class ideal location.

Our email confirmation room allocation was for both rooms on first floor near to one another. On booking in we were allocated rooms 8 and 22. Luckily the receptionist was able to change room 22 for room 7. Some mention should be made that In room 7 the window cannot be shut, the glass is not clean and there is rubbish in view outside of the window. The bathroom door needs pressure to latch it and the taps in the basin need servicing, especially the cold tap which drips unless very tightly turned off. None of these affected our stay.

The Fleece is a lovely and well-run hotel in the heart of the beautiful market town of Cirencester. It couldn't have a more perfect location. Staff welcome you as you wander in and the bar and restaurant are very well managed.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are comfortable and attractive. Not luxury level but really nice. My only grouse was the breakfast. The scrambled egg was awful - some pre-cooked horror - the coffee slow in coming, the staff a little chaotic although perfectly charming. The porridge was gorgeous... they just need to make all the eggs fresh, and organise themselves better.

The staff were helpful,friendly, courteous and obliging. The breakfast and the staff that served it was excellent. We only had one evening meal during our stay but that was very very good too. The bed and room were very comfortable and tea tray was well stocked every day. A nice touch was a fresh glass bottle of water everyday. Housekeeping came everyday but you could request not to have them if you felt uncomfortable during these times. Our room was kept lovely by the team. The loaction in the high street meant bars, restaurants and a market on Monday and Friday was ideal.Cirencester is ideally placed to explore the Cotswolds . Would stay here again.

We were in quite a small room at the front over the high street .The size wasn't an issue but room was hot so along with the provided fan we also had the windows open which meant we suffered a bit from early morning traffic noise,especially as week went on. The shower door had rubber seals which kept falling off when showering and could have done with a very good clean,we left them off in the hope housekeeping would bleach them but they didn't.The shower tray filled up quickly and seemed to be slow draining .

Location cannot be beat, right in the heart of Cirencester! The Fleece is very quaint, has a lot of character with friendly service both at check in and in the breakfast room. The breakfast is lovely! You can choose anything you like from their menu and then help yourself to juices. All food is served at your own pace. The room had a window seat with lovely views of the towns main street. The beds are very soft and our room had cookies, tea, coffee and hot cocoa restocked daily. Water pressure and temperature in shower were great.

Room was too warm for us despite being able to open the windows, however the Inn provided us with 2 floor fans that helped considerably. It wasn’t a huge problem for us but note that there is not a lift available to your room but rather a beautiful curving staircase.

The location is central to Cirencester. Hotel parking is available, and free, but somewhat scarce. Our room was good, comfortable, not spacious but with a nice en-suite. Breakfast was good quality and cooked-to-order. Lunch and evening meals in the informal bar-restaurant were very good quality and fairly-priced for the area and location. Local ale was excellent.

The hotel does not have an elevator, so going up and down to rooms with luggage is not ideal for elderly people or those with disabilities. Car parking is not easy, with quite narrow spaces. Menus is the bar-restaurant are not wide or very diverse, though we recognise there is a trade-off here against quality, and we were very pleased with what we chose.

Loved the property. The location was perfect, centre or Cirencester. The property was lovely, the dining room and bar were great. The room was also lovely. The only thing was the carpet and walls were maybe due for a touch up. But the other attention to details were perfect, like a home from home.

Just the carpets and paint work was a little tired in places. The bathroom door latch got jammed, at one point my husband got stuck and in the night I would have either needed to slam the door shut or go to the toilet with the door open. However, the rest of the Property really was lovely. I also really enjoyed the room as a whole.

Nice property. Historical building, great location. Room small but cosy. Good food. Staff very helpful and helped us find e-bikes for us to discover nearby villages.

Fifteen minutes past check-out time the receptionist knocked on our door and announced with an exaggerated importance that we were past the checkout time... I mean, c'mon, really...? Have a bit more respect to your guests... Apart from that everything was great.

All the food was gorgeous… i had fish & chips from their menu in the evening, and it was the nicest fish & chips i think ive ever had! Me & my mum were very impressed with the breakfast, & appreciated your staf taking our order & bringing the food to us, instead of getting up to get it yourself. And there was a great variety to choose from aswell.. All staff were very friendly and kind… There was a nice atmosphere in the pub and restaurant, loved the interior design. Our room was simply lovely, fairly small (particularly the bathroom) but it was decorated very nicely & it was a nice relaxing room. We couldnt speak highly enough of our stay, would definately return! Thank you…

Only negative, is that we could not open the window very easily in the bedroom, and there was no information in the bedroom (ie-reception desk phone number, wifi, checking out times, or any important info). But i did have some of this info on my email from them anyway, but wouldve been nicer if it was more easily accesible.

My partner and I had a really wonderful stay for my 30th birthday. I wanted relaxation, cosiness and luxury and that's exactly what we got. Our room was beautiful and had the most amazing bath which was a must for me! We ate at the restaurant and the food was lovely as was the service. We would definitely recommend to our friends! Thanks so much.

The town itself didn't have loads to do but that's nothing major. We had an issue with some very noisy pigeons on the roof of our room which kept us up at night but that was hardly the hotels fault!! It also might have been nice to have room service available as we fancied a glass of fizz when we arrived :)

a beautiful historic building in the centre of the beautiful town of Cirencester. Close to amenities like shops, pubs and restaurants. The restaurant and bar at the hotel are also really really good. Rooms were clean and finished to a high standard.

My room was situated above the bar which I could hear until 11:30pm which I think on a Monday night when is a little late. The room was also extremely hot even though the radiators in the room were all off, meaning I had to sleep with the bedroom windows open. This allowed outside noise in and meant I did not have the best or most comfortable night sleep.
