The surroundings and views are superb, the gardens and different areas magical, the pool a little gem; there is great attention to details throughout the property, inside and out. I very much liked the Italianate theme and winks to the 1920s. Wendy, at front desk, and Jonathan (everywhere!) were very helpful and cordial. I enjoyed the food, and the gluten-free options were nice. Afternoon tea was a lovely a mix of traditional and ... Italian, enjoyed on the terrace with stupendous views.

Some of the staff were not so pleasant (at breakfast) and some were inexperienced, but nice. The location really requires a car. The taxi situation in Stroud, from the train station, is impossible. Wendy was most helpful, sending a very kind sous-chef to the rescue, otherwise I'd have been stranded. The train station is hard to negotiate with larger luggage, with two flights of stairs to negotiate to go up over the tracks and down on the other side in order to exit. I do not recommend going by train with anything other than light luggage, and do reserve your taxi well ahead of time. There are supposed to be some, but they are not always there, as happened in my case.

A perfect evening, with inventive and delicious food, especially the crab on crumpet and the Cote de Boeuf, which was perfectly rare, very tender and it had the most wonderful beefy flavour. The service was quite exceptional and the servers had all the time in the world to help us and be friendly. We could not eat the whole mountain of beef, so our server put the remains in a waxed box and it was just as good the next night.

The bathroom was tired and the lighting for the sink- for shaving, etc- was very poor both in amount and in quality of light

The location of the Burleigh Court is excellent in that the views are magnificent, as are the grounds. However, it's up a very steep hill and is tucked away, so we actually drove past it initially. Our room was large & had a lovely view of the garden. It was comfortable with plenty of storage space.

The bathroom was small, not a problem, but there was a lack of storage space to put anything. The tiny vanity basin was almost too small to wash hands. As the Burleigh is an old building, it's understandable that the space has to be used carefully but another shelf wold have been useful.

Good location, good sized room, sash windows that open top and bottom, good food, good service.

Had to wait a long time for wine to be served on the first evening. The Chateaubriand for two on the last evening was cooked medium rare, even though one of us wanted medium rare and the other medium. Even after further cooking half of the meat, it was still too pink. No baked beans available at breakfast. Only available on the fourth breakfast after asking three times.

Very comfortable place to have a down day after running around UK for 2 weeks. Great breakfast and staff.Very nice pool to take a dip and relax in the gardens.

Arrived on SUnday with no available dinner reservations and all local kitchens closing at or before 8 PM Tried to get a reservation for dinner weeks before and was not aware local places would close earlier on Sunday.

We had the most wonderful stay at Burleigh Court - our room was gorgeous - very clean, quiet and bright with a gorgeous view of the countryside. We absolutely loved sitting in the lobby area too in front of the fire having a drink and catching-up - you have made it into such a lovely space. The dinner we had was also great - order the Chateaubriand for 2 if you can it was wonderful! Service was exceptional throughout - thank you!

beautiful hotel and good food. room comfortable and well equipped with modern bathroom and very spacious and very comfortable bed

staff seemed a bit stretched and slightly amateur so sometimes we had to go and search out someone to assist but they tried very hard and were very friendly. I expect like many places they are finding it difficult to recruit staff. if I had to be critical of anything in the room I would say the tea/coffee provision was inadequate- just a couple of coffee pods no teabags and no fresh milk in the fridge plus one small pack of biscuits. to be fair we didn’t bother to ask for any teabags or milk.

From the moment I arrived I could tell this would be a wonderful place to stay. The friendliness of all the staff was exemplary. The lovely room I has appointed had lovely views and the room had everything you needed. The quality of the bed linen was first class. There was no need to prebook a time for breakfast just turn up. Music to my ears. The decor was in keeping with the period of the house and the quality of the food was excellent.

Nothing not to like. Even the cat in the garden rolled over for a tummy tickle!!

Lovely location for this mini-manor house, on a hill overlooking the Stroud valley. If you can have an 18th century boutique-style hotel, then this is it: a delightful Cotswold gem. Super friendly staff, and excellent food and ambience. Not cheap, but well worth the experience. We were there in winter, but must be even better in summer looking out over that lush Cotswold countryside.

Absolutely nothing

Jonathan and the rest of the staff were incredibly gracious and hospitable. The setting above the valley, with the front lawn below was nothing short of magical. It felt like a home away from home.
