Alexandra Court Hotel

Friendly receptionist (Brown hair, glasses -working 23rd June), easy check in and allowed us to check in slightly earlier too, the receptionist walked us up to the room which I thought was a nice touch. Room was so spacious and the most comfiest bed we've slept in. Everything was really clean and the breakfast was nice too. Free car parking. We paid just short of £140 for a room, I think this is great value for money and would have happily paid more for this! Thank you :)

Nothing! Expectations were exceeded.

The hotel had thought of all the small details that are often missing in hotel rooms, such as a clock, and hooks on the bathroom door. The staff were also very friendly, even helping me to carry my luggage to my car.

The only disabled parking space was coned off when I arrived. This wasn't much of an issue as the space next to it was available. However, wider disabled spaces would be helpful for ease of opening the car doors.

Room itself was fine and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Garden area was absolutely lovely. Could sit outside undercover and enjoy food & drink in a great setting. Good quality breakfast.

TV ireception may be a problem. The TV in our room was not tuned in to any channels. We auto-tuned it and it only picked up 5 channels, all of which were quite bizarre (no BBC1/2, no ITV, Channel 4 or 5). There is an occasional problem with the hotel plumbing such that the cold tap may produce hot water for some time before it clears (not really an issue when you know about it).

The breakfast was far too expensive, £14.50 is excessive so I didn’t have it. The soup & sandwich for dinner was good value at £8.00.

Booking.com charged me the highest price for this stay, other booking sites & the hotel itself were only £62, Booking.com charged me £75 a night so I am very displeased about this.

Very pleasant check-in, receptionist showed me to my room and was very helpful and friendly. Also helpful with arranging a drink; she was attentive and aimed to make me feel welcome - so it felt. This property's style and interior makes yiu think back of time gone by. The wooden structure above the staircase, the interior design (e.g. 1950/60s style mirrors in bathroom and bedroom, wallpapering, taps, shape/layout and dimensions of rooms), these aspects seem to have been kept in place to preserve that time. Everything is in working order and everything was very clean. Some proportiesmget that last bot worng - this one succesfully combines that older style with grat cleanliness. The breakfast was lovely, with attentive staff looking after you. Great coffee, full-on Full English in, again, a very clean breakfast room. Can't complain. I would come back if I was in the area or near the area; it would merit a bit of a detour.

Everything was fine. Nothing to dislike. Kind, hard-working staff.

Beautiful house with exquisite decor, extremely comfortable bed and helpful friendly staff. Our bedroom was airy with 2 large windows and chaise lounge, so much larger than expected, huge bed which i can say gave me the best nights slepp ive had in a long time. excellent value for money. Full English breakfast which was delicious.

No restaurant for evening meal as I would have liked to spend more time in the hotel as it was such a relaxing and beautiful space.

The staff were fantastic, especially Marco who was extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The lady at breakfast was lovely too and the breakfasts were gorgeous, my friends said some of the best scrambled eggs they have ever had. The hotel and room were spotless and very comfortable.

Very friendly and helpful all the time. High rate of flexibility over our stay Quiet hotel with very good beds Since our travelarrangement brought us earlier as expected to the hotel they extraordinary arranged a superb breakfast for us and was over our expectations. Can only recommend this hotel

The Alexandra Court Hotel is absolutely spotless!! The staff were really really welcoming, it was lovely to chat to Andy and hear about his time as a pastry chef !! Our room was perfect, very comfortable bright and extremely clean. Can’t wait to return !!!

Our only problem was that we only stayed for one night !!! 😩

Breakfast was lovely, plenty on offer. Staff were absolutely lovely, especially Jane, who made you feel very welcome and very knowledgeable about the area

The online photos gives you the impression the building stands alone and is quite big, however in reality it is in a row of lots of other buildings and right on a main road, practically on a roundabout. Having said that tho once inside that didnt matter.
