The Silk House

Gorgeous period building with interior decor to match. Warm welcome from the hosts on arrival and when trying to get to the restaurant we’d booked we couldn’t get a taxi so Nicholas offered to drive us. Incredibly kind and blew us away. Our room was spacious, clean and a gorgeous bathroom. We faced the street but didn’t think it was particularly noisy, just as much as you’d expect and we slept fine. Still offered delicious food & coffee on check out despite not booking breakfast. All in all a lovely stay in a gorgeous hotel!

I liked the old character of the beams n stained glass n how the character has been kept n how comfortable n classy the rooms are kept with an exquisite bathroom n having a lovely cosy bar down stairs with great atmosphere with a great host Nicolas

There is nothing I could fault

Really lovely property in the heart of Leek. A beautiful period property that lends itself to exclusive functions and weddings etc. The owner is relatively new and is an excellent host - he clearly has good taste and gets hospitality just right. The wine list was excellent; breakfast was delicious; the shower was just right. I was only sorry we were two weeks too early for the launch of the very exclusive basement bar which looks so cool. I work in corporate PR - this is a very comfortable boutique hotel which provides real intimacy. I’d like to have a private party here and hire all of the six bedrooms.

There was little I didn’t like. It’s clear the new owner knows his niche and it’s great benefitting from his flair. Definitely coming back here.

Location, free parking, comfortable room. The hotel seems to be run by one guy and his partner and they were both helpful and good company and chatted with us in the bar, gave us suggestions on restaurants. Very impressed! Would stay again.

We were greeted by a very confused member of staff who didn't seem to be expecting us and was confused about the process of checking in. Turns out she was not a receptionist but she did her best and it didn't detract from the overall experience of the stay, which was very good.

The friendliness of the staff/owner. The bar/ reception area is a great place to sit and have a drink. Great location in Leek. Nicely upgraded. The back yard garden was a good place to sit in the sun.

Great location. Nice spacious room. Friendly staff. Brilliant ground floor bar - with excellent host and hostess. Stayed on a Saturday night - free car park nearby ( High Street ) which is free after 3pm Sat and all day Sunday. Hotel and owners have loads of character.

Boy racer traffic noise from the street early morning for any rooms at the front but sporadic not continuous.

Cosy little stay, lovely room lovely bar. Staff were really helpful and welcoming and patient with me because I peppered them with questions before arrival. Before we arrived we were given advice on where to park which was really helpful. Would highly recommend a stay here

I loved how comfortable the bed was, the quality of the bedroom and bathroom, as well as cleanliness. The receptionist was very lovely and recommended a few tourist attractions that we could visit. Eateries, grocery stores, market and many independent shops within a 2-15 min walk, which is very convenient!

Though it is in a great location for conveniences, it was hard to sleep at night due to nearby traffic on the road where the hotel is situated but that's something the hotel can't control unfortunately! We needed to keep the windows open due to the heat so it was a tricky situation. I would 100% return here and would just request a room at the back of the hotel next time in advance.

Different choices of high quality all delicious. Warm croissants even. Very personalised and customised to my preferences. Felt I was home

I cannot really point out something that I have not liked. Everything is very positive

We did not have breakfast at the hotel but chose somewhere on hotel staff recommendation. The location of the hotel was perfect for us. Central and near other places that we needed to visit and explore
