Staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was very nice. The rooms were nice and clean. One of the rooms we were given, had an odd, very pungent smell. We asked if we could change rooms, and this was no problem. (We were told that the smell was from the type of wood in the room. )

The waiting time for food (both for dinner and breakfast) was much too long. From ordering our food, to being served the food was just over 45 minutes. It was quite difficult to keep our 2 small children occupied for that long. Breakfast was similar. We waited almost an hour for our waffles. We were the first people in the restaurant that morning and so were the first to order. When we were finally served our food, we were told there was a problem with the waffle machine and that's why it took so long. I wish they would have told us straight away, as we would have picked something else instead.

Friendly relaxed hotel with great staff and lovely meals. A small carpark and large conservatory are both available for guests to use. There are two bar areas, a restaurant area and small snug. Each bedroom is unique in design with lovely furnishings, bed clothing etc. Children and dogs are both welcome. I suggest booking a table for meals as the Wheatsheaf is a very popular venue. It is situated in the town center with shops , pubs and the Saxon Crosses only a few minutes walk away. 5 minutes drive from the M6 junction 17.

As the building is an old coaching inn there are steep steps to the upper floors and no lift.

The staff were brilliant and unfortunately my husband was unwell so we had to leave early but the staff sorted that for us and we're so friendly, helpful and professional Room was lovely and brilliant shower.

We were on the 2nd floor up a steep twisty stair and I was concerned as there was no fire escape.I did ask about it and was told that we could just come down the stairs.I pointed out that if the stairs were on fire there was no other way out and it was very high up so we could nt jump out of the window! The person I spoke to was very nice and apologised but obviously there was nothing they could do about it.Luckily there was no fire!

This Gem of a Hotel in the Centre of Sandbach exceeded all our expectations. I would say that this Hotel is probably the very best Hotel we have stayed in in all of regular UK Travel Holidays. The location the Rooms the Cleanliness and the food were exceptional. The staff were amazing. The room was great with a big walk in shower. The breakfast was fantastic with a good choice. There is ample Car Parking at the rear. The bars and indoor and outdoor drinking areas were amazing they even have blankets in case you are cold in the covered outdoor bar at the rear with a quiet snug and a normal bar at the front. Couldnt find any faults with this Hotel

The only downside is no lift. I am slightly disabled and we were on the top Floor in an amazing room but it was a bit of a struggle getting our suitcase up the winding Staircase to get to the top rooms. That would not put us off staying here again

As a lone female traveler this is a great hotel. If you travel alone you'll understand. Firstly your room door is substantial and locks properly, you feel secure in your room. In the bar and restaurant you are close to staff all of the time. The staff are professional and extremely attentive and very pleasant. I didn't eat here as I was meeting family but whilst sat in the bar, the food brought out looked lovely. I did have breakfast and it was delicious, eggs benedict, cooked beautifully and served quickly. In the room provided in the price, robes, slippers, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, fan, shampoo, shower gel and lovely hand cream and wash. Towels were fluffy and the whole room was meticulously clean. Decor lovely, bed comfy. I had a really lovely stay. Thank you Wheatsheaf team

I didn't like the fact that there was no kettle. You are provided with a coffee machine that dispenses hot water. I couldn't work it. Also I couldn't get the water reservoir under the bathroom tap easily. No instructions in the room, that I could find so I had to go down stairs for a cup of tea. I was feeling a bit grumpy about that but the lovely staff were great.

Beautiful hotel with restaurant. lovely outdoor seating area at the back close to the carpark. Lovely large room with bathtub and shower. beautifully decorated. Staff were super lovely with great personalities a great attribute to the company. The breakfast was well made and very delicious.

I don't feel the carpark is large enough to cater for all of the guests. Felt like during our stay the "buffet breakfast" was rather neglected not topped up and little options ( we arrived about 8.30am so not particularly late) felt the price was rather steep considering we have stayed in other Wheatsheaf chains recently with equally nice rooms and breakfast for a large price difference (£45 difference).

The room was a good size, it was great to find a fridge with real milk rather than nasty little uht pots - well done for this. The bathroom was wet room style with a powerful shower. Breakfast was great too - we were glad to be able to choose a cooked and have toast/cereal/fruit/pastry options. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

The antlers (death trophies) everywhere!!! Obviously they were plastic, but they were reminders of cruel and unnecessary hunting, and reminders of the death of beautiful animals. We found the bed a bit uncomfortable but others may feel differently. I was disappointed to find a makeup smear on the collar of one of the bathrobes. We noticed one or two things in the room that pointed towards a potential drop in maintenance standards which we thought the hotel should keep eye on as it doesn't take much for a room to start feeling a bit unloved rather than boutique. Eg wardrobe door sticking, some of the moulding on the bathroom door had dropped off, the air vent had a noisy rattle.

The hotel was lovely and staff very friendly and food was excellent.

The only issue was breakfast time , we were told to find a table which we did and asked what drink we would like which was tea and coffee , on bringing are drinks we had to ask for milk and then sugar of which I was told was at the bar which was not a problem for me to get and then when are breakfast came there was no butter for toast which I had to ask again and I felt like I was being a nuisance to the staff of which I wasn’t and made me feel uncomfortable because with this being a 5 star it should of all been at hand .

Spotlessly clean throughout , beautifully furnished. Our stable room was a little small with a standard double bed, but was comfortable and warm. The ensuite bathroom was beautiful, a large slipper bath, huge walk in shower and twin handbasins. The soft towels, nice complimentary toiletries, bathrobes and slippers were a bonus. This boutique hotel is beautifully decorated throughout . There is outside seating, a large conservatory, guest lounge and a couple of bar areas. A small carpark, lovely well cooked breakfast and efficient and friendly staff made our stay more pleasurable. This hotel is 2 minutes walk to Sandbach town center with it's shops , pubs and Celtic crosses set on the market Square.

No coat hooks in bathroom to hang dressing gown or clothes on.

We stayed in room 19, lovely deco and huge bathroom and bathtub with double sink and separate shower. Room was well equipped with iron and ironing board coffee making facilities. Breakfast was delicious, with option of cereal, fresh fruit, toast making facility and juices. Hot breakfast was ordered off a great selection on a menu and freshly cooked.

Room 19 perfect, but a bit noise due to road traffic. However, we stayed on a particularly hot night and had the windows open! There was a fan in the room which was a great addition and had been left on for our arrival. So all good.
