White House Cottages

It was a nice quiet village and a fifteen minute ride to the train station which was about £12 in a taxi so it was good. The host left us biscuits and we had Shampoo/conditioner and shower gel provided which was nice. The host came over when we had a problem with the heating. It was a nice little cottage big enough for two people and we had a nice time.

The only thing that I wasn’t happy with is that the couch was a lot smaller than what was advertised on the pictures of the website. I thought it was a long couch that I could sleep on but it was quite a small couch. So it’s not good if you are staying with a friend and are not sharing the bed but it is a lovely cottage to stay in with a partner.

The cottage was so lovely and warm and very modern. It had everything u needed . The host was very attentive and left us milk and cookies for us when we. Arrived. Can't fault him or the cottage. Brilliant wee country pub across the road,food was to dye for was the best pub food I've had been told it's a new chef . Would love to go back to the cottage and the friendly staff at the pub . A very happy weekend we had . It was a early Xmas present for my girlfriend we enjoyed it very much .

Nothing at all

Clean compact little cottage with everything you need. Good communication with host before arrival. Parking for one car .Location was good if you had a car . Local pub not open yet so when it does open I think it will be a positive. That’s not anything to do with the cottage but there was nothing really close by.

The bed was a small double bed and very very uncomfortable with uncomfortable pillows . I had no sleep for two nights . One night I tried to sleep on the settee but it’s a very small 2 seater.

Even if the house is very small it was comfy and it was more then perfect for a couple. We had all the facilities in the kitchen, it is fully equipped and it helped us as we cooked a lot. The house was very clean and tidied.

The only bag thing is that we ran out of hot water. My partner took a shower and the water was hot for him, but once I entered into the shower the water started being cold and it remained cold about two hours. So if two people are staying here in order to get a 15 minutes shower you would have to allow about 2 hours for the water to be hot again. Also asked for a second blanket but the host didn't want to help us. Also if you are using the post code to arrive at the location it will send you to a wrong house and the cottage is a few minutes ahead in the other direction

Great small cottage - ideal location to explore Durham . Also within 20 mile of some nice quiet beaches for walks . I can also suggest local picnic area, with old railway tracks lovely place to chill less than 5 minutes away . Host was helpful and recommended local venues to eat . Great pub over the road .

The only thing o didn’t like was the sofa it was very low and uncomfortable. Could do with replacing .

Lovely cottage, very clean and with all the facilities you might need within easy striking distance of Durham. The host was lovely and turned on the heating prior to our arrival. Great views over the farm next door. We were there only one night but the property would be excellent for a longer stay. Beds were very comfortable.

The downstairs shower didn’t drain properly but I’m sure that would be only a temporary thing. Don’t let it put you off!

it was lovely and modern with good facilities and nice shower and comfy bed. the owner was helpful and even had some milk and cookies for us arriving!

the picture could do with an update depending on what flat you book as I thought it was the picture on booking.com that I was to go to but it was around the corner. I knocked on the door and it was someone else staying so it was a bit confusing. Not the owners fault at all and he was very helpful when I called him.

Lovely quiet location, easy bus ride into Durham. Bedroom views over to Durham & open fields. Everything we needed was in the accommodation. Off street parking. lovely pub across road, serving nice meals. Good oven. Great shower room. Nice private outside area. (We stayed in the Loft accommodation)

Being a new build accommodation a few areas could do with attention, kitchen kick-board hits the opening of dishwasher door. built-in washer had door missing. Painting was a bit smudged. But these are very small issues.

Location excellent very quiet lovely feel to the property bed very comfy and the shower was spot on ,the owner John is a true Gent and would go that extra mile to make your stay more comfortable , the pub over the road, the meals will blow you away for taste and quantity would hopefully book again sometime this year. Slept like a log at this location very quite and lovely view from the loft

Nothing it was all good cannot fault the owner very laid back guy who would go that extra mile for you to enjoy your stay, we stayed in the loft which is ample room for two people and has all the mod cons and is very cosy bedroom and bathroom and shower excellent .Thank's John for the warm welcome

We were early and the weather was awful so we decided to go to the metro centre and asked the host if we could check in early and this wasn't one problem with him, although the one bedroom house was on the small size it was very comfortable and fine for a 1 night stay nice coffee machine with plenty of pods and milk in the fridge, a shower was powerful. Based in lovely Brandon Village and a pub 1-2 minutes over the road.
