The Bruntsfield Hotel

Beautiful & clean room with a huge & comfortable bed. Staffs are very friendly and helpful in this hotel. You can't beat this breakfast. It was wide variety, fresh, including continental and cooked breakfast options.

Our room looked onto the main road, and it was a bit noisy at night (we live in a quiet location).

Staff was very approachable and helpful throughout the stay. The breakfast was exceptional with lots of options. Their resturant had a very friendly ambience, even thou we didnt dine there, we had drinks sitting there and found it a very calm and relaxing experience. Their family room is good size and comfortable. The location is amazing, with lots of food options just a few minutes walk and only a 20 minute walk to the Edinburgh castle and the princess street. Great bus connections if one doesnt want to walk.

The noise from the street can drift into the rooms, not a problem during the day but can disturb your sleep at night.

The breakfast was satisfying and with an adequate variety of choices. However, one day that the capuccino machine was out of order, they never gave us the choice of a cappuccino by the bar. The filter coffee was utterly unacceptable. The payment method was the main problem. If you haven'te prepaid, they do a kind of pre-authorisation system which is supposed to match the final payment with the same code which resulted in a double withdrawal from my debit card. The money was eventually returned back to me, but not before 33 days had passed.

The room is really spacious and kept clean. The breakfast spread is incredibly generous, offering a wide variety of choices. As for the staff, they are all very helpful and accommodating. The hotel is close to a golf course we had access to play with my daughter. you just pay a small amount to get the Golf sticks from a bar. amazing stay!

On the first day of my arrival, the lady at the counter wasn't very helpful when it came to getting the internet connection sorted. She blamed my phone, but interestingly, another staff member acknowledged that the connection wasn't great that day. Fortunately, he was kind enough to try and assist us, but unfortunately, we couldn't get it connected until the next day. Despite this initial hiccup, overall, the stay was amazing.

Everything. Wonderful hotel with lovely staff. Have stayed here several times, wouldn't stay anywhere else in Edinburgh! Overlooking Bruntsfield Park, car parking onsite and 20 mins walk into the city (Princes Street) plus plenty of buses stop outside the hotel. Rooms are spacious, modern & clean. Lots of choices at breakfast, with delicious hot & cold food. Restaurant offers lovely food menu with outside dining option in summer months. Reception staff are fabulous! Shout out to Audrey on reception, and to Jean, Pauline & Alex in breakfast room. Always friendly & cheery ❤️

Lovely hotel in a lovely location, a bit outside of the touristy areas but close enough to walk. The local neighborhood had some lovely restaurants and shops. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Hooks in the bathroom. One always has things to hang when traveling - toiletry kits, pajamas, jackets, clothes. There's never any place to put things especially in hotel bathrooms, and that was true here too! A small thing but would have been nice. Maybe I misread the information on the hotel's site but the on-street parking available is only for two hours. So it isn't really an option in case there are no available parking spaces in the hotel's small lot. Fortunately we did get a place in the hotel's carpark, after a anxious first half an hour or so.

Really friendly reception and breakfast staff, willing to help with any queries and went out of their way to get some herbal tea for me. Breakfast great, and really good value, esp for Edinburgh, lots of choice and served with a smile. Executive family room spacious with a separate room for the kids perfect for having our own space. Great location for exploring Edinburgh from the leafy area of Bruntsfield. Great that they do have a car charger and area for parking even though it's tight.

Electric car charging advertised but space not reserved for electric vehicles only. Tea and coffee packs in rooms a bit stingy with hot chocolate and biscuits- however reception staff did provide more when asked.

The staff were amazing! So very helpful and polite. And this extended throughout the hotel - reception, bar/restaurant, and housekeeping. The hotel location is superb, too - just close enough to the centre of town to be easily accessible, but far enough out to have a very quiet night's sleep. We stayed 5 nights so we had a long enough time to make a good assessment. I, for one, certainly feel refreshed after our stay and that was due in no small measure to the very comfortable room, and the fact that we were happy to spend quite a lot of time in it! We'd definitely recommend it - and go back!

It was a tiny minor detail, but the only thing that stopped us from giving the hotel a full 10/10 was the water pressure in our bathroom. It didn't really spoil our stay - we were still able to take showers quite happily enough - but it was noticeably low. This could be something to do with the fact that this is a melding of three historic town houses, so it's a big, rambling building and plumbing must be a difficulty. However, on the plus side, the room was super-warm even in the month of March in Edinburgh, with our radiator turned off - so some aspects of the plumbing must be great!

The staff was amazing, the room was bigger than I thought, and it was very clean and comfortable. The restaurant was very good and the service was professional.

The only one issue we had was... the creaking door from the corridor our room was next to. Every morning, these doors were waking me up (after the first night I purchased ear plugs and the problem was solved), but I guess a little amount of WD40 will make the work. I don't like to wake up before 8 am on my holiday, but the other guests of the hotel do. Apart from this- no issues.

I did not take advantage of breakfast and the restaurant was closed the week I was there. Location was perfect: very near the apartment my family stayed in, fairly quiet, and a fine park across the street. There were a few excellent bakeries and coffee shops close by Very nice neighborhood. The buses were convenient and ran often making it easy to get around.

I have only one complaint: my room was very hot due to unusually warm weather. The staff solved that by providing a fan. I wish I knew that one was available earlier in my stay.
