Very comfortable, excellent service in all areas, food very good both at dinner and breakfast. Perhaps it was time of year, but the venue at times limited the food options available. But what we did have, was excellent. Staff were caring and thoughtful and supportive at all levels. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay. We had no prior experience of your venue having chosen you simply because of your proximity to the venues we wished to visit over two days - Old Warden and Bletchley Park.

Previously visited for drinks in 2018 but we opted to stay at The Knife and Cleaver for two nights whilst attending an exhibition in September 2022 with work. 3 of us visited and were all very impressed throughout our stay. We had great service from Amy in the bar all of her food recommendations were brilliant and the art in our Guinness was worth the visit alone. The menu in the restaurant for evening meals is vast and great value. Highly recommend the Chorizo Croquettes and the burger. Great choice for Breakfast too. The rooms we stayed in were brilliant, nice and clean, large and comfortable beds and a good selection of hot drinks, exactly what we needed after long days at an exhibition. We'll definitely be booking again.

Very warm welcome from the staff. Clean comfortable room. Good food. Location was perfect for Stewartby Lake. A three mile walk or a few minutes in the car. Super Sunday roast and Friday evening 'special' paella with sangria

Sunday morning breakfast was very disappointing but as all the other meals were excellent I wouldn't mark them down for this. The table next to me also complained about their food so hopefully it was just a one off bad day!!

The staff were very pleasant, made me feel very welcome. Remembering conversations at dinner that we had started at check in showed a true level of customer engagement which made me feel more than just a table number. The room (which are in a separate building to the main building, thus allowing great access to come and go) was pleasant and the foc amenities were perfect

Small gripe, the frosted window in my room, was directly in front of the shower leading directly onto the main walkway and didn't do much for the feelings of privacy.. would suggest a blind. .

Lovely village location and comfortable room. Pub and restaurant on same site was very relaxing and the food was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice big shower in the bathroom. Salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast were fab and nice strong coffee.

Rooms are in a sort of chalet block next to the pub garden which could get busy at weekends but was quiet while we were there early in the week. The Wifi wouldn't connect even when we got a code from the manager and the TV reception kept on going off. Surprised internet so poor in Bedfordshire and probably no fault of the hotel. Breakfast offer limited to mains and no fruit, cereal or toast and preserves. Had to request orange juice.

staff were really friendly and very efficient.Management responded immediately to a few minor problems in room.

In our original room it was pretty basic, The bed was lovely and well made up but the wardrobe facilities let it down and the shelf was far to high so had to put most of my clothes on floor.could do with an extra shelf putting in lower down There was a few minor problems in room but as soon as we reported it to management we were immediately moved to an upgraded room which we didnt expect,,it was really appreciated,

Lovely pub, I didn’t eat but it looked good. The rooms are very well presented and decorated. The staff were very friendly and polite. I would stay again when in the area. Bed and bed lined was comfortable, cozy and clean.

Very clean apart from the glass around the shower, that grime would have built up over time so needed to be cleaned. This is a very minor issue as the rest of the room was immaculate so likely just forgotten or not on a checklist.

staff were lovely on arrival and during our stay. Evening meal was superb, would definately go again. The room was nicely furnished, warm, bed comfy. it had an iron, kettle, tea and coffee facilities, hairdryers, shower gel, etc. The only things were shower didn’t work properly, was leaking from head and the outside lights didn’t come on when returning. Decaf coffee would also be a nice touch for people who cant drink normal. Breakfast had a good selection to choose from and was tasty. Only thing was instead of toast on the all-day breakfast, it was bread. All in all a goid hotel and stay.

Rooms very comfortable and clean. Hotel in a quiet location except for a lovely church across the road but can't do anything about that. Restaurant was excellent and comfortable. Surroundings very tasteful. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

Nothing except some things were missing from the restaurant menu but that wasn't their fault as they had been let down by deliveries and availability in the current climate, so not a complaint, just life these days.

Anne the proprietor was let down by her chef and literally bent backwards to help me and my son get breakfast he needed for his medication. She helped me find a location using her own phone as we were going to an important event and my mind was all over the place and even let us stay an extra hour after check out so we didn’t have to loiter around in smart clothes waiting for the event to start. We had our breakfast delivered to our room as well. Absolutely lovely place and very caring staff. Thank you, Anne!

Better sign where the check in reception is please as I couldn’t find it walked into the bar with my little boy at 11PM
