Verve Hotel

All the facilities, I have been before and enjoyed my stay there, so this time! The staff pleasant, attentive and vey helpful as I had a bit of pb with my mobile phone and helped with an another lead from the Hotel. I lived in Bedford many years ago so it was really great to be in familiar ground again! I have known the Hotel many many years ago in fact my own mother and a friend stayed there but it wasn't the confort standard it has now with the change of ownership!

Perhaps the only comment I might make is concerning the room being small that's ok but the chair provided was too large for the space and thre was no stool to rest the suitcase on, but put it on the floor making it awkward to get to it and get to one's belongings and clothes. Otherwise fine.

Check in was extremely smooth and whilst shown the location of my room, hotel facilities were explained along with safety procedures. Service in the bar and restaurant was extremely good.

The room I was in |Ground floor at the rear of the hotel) had 2 issues for me personally. The first was that the construction of the building (stud walls) allows noise from other rooms. Secondly, the glass widow in the door allowed direct sunlight to shine on the bed which disturbed sleeping. Parking at the hotel is extremely limited but, additional offsite parking location was explained

What a lovely surprise this stay was! I only had a budget of around £80 and wasn't overexcited at the options when I looked on booking.com initially - but The Verve certainly exceeded my expectations! Good parking, really nice boutique kind of a feel when I got inside, staff were all so attentive. I was up on the top floor in the loft but despite a fair climb with a lot of luggage for work, they'd really made good use of the space - everything I needed with extras I wouldn't expect for £80 like slippers, comb, shave kit. The TV was very small and hard to see from my bed. Dinner was delicious, they have an on-site restaurant serving Thai and English food - and the Thai meal didn't disappoint! Such good value for money as guests get 20% of their bill. I had a generous Thai main and lots of yummy prawn crackers with dips, as well as an alcoholic drink, for £13! My room was pretty quiet and warm and bathroom facilities were good. I felt safe and comfy as a solo female traveller and if I'm ever working in Bedford again, I'd certainly return here!

On entering the reception we were met with a very helpful member of staff. Very informative. The reception area was lovely. Ate at their restaurant. Food was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Service impeccable. Also got 20% discount as we were guests. Rooms were clean and comfortable for one night. Supplied with tea, coffee and water. There was shampoo and shower gel if you had forgotten to take any.

We were at the front of the hotel facing the road so was quite busy up until around midnight. Also could hear the person next door moving around and brushing his teeth!

The Verve is a great small hotel, located in the Poets area of Bedford and offers excellent value for money and is within walking distance to the station and Bedford Town Centre. The Verve's funky decor in purples and blacks and silver might not appeal to some, but the room and hotel public areas were spotlessly clean. My bed was very comfy. Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly from reception, bar to the housekeepers, all made me feel very welcome. Thank you! The food in their thai restaurant was delicious. Free WiFi and 20% off dinner bill, all good. Continental breakfast was good value for money at £5.20.pp.

I would have preferred a pot of coffee at breakfast rather than just one cup. Extra coffee was charged. Otherwise perfectly okay.

The staff were excellent, both at check in and in the hotel restaurant where I dined in the evening. The room was big and comfortable and well stocked with tea coffee and mineral water. The bed was very comfortable and the shower pressure excellent. Best of all was the location - close enough to the town for convenience but far enough to not hear any noise and the car park was a relief as I’ve stayed at other Bedford hotels that are a nightmare!

Courteous, friendly & attentive staff. Chic and glitzy decor, yet calming and warm. Peaceful bedrooms with comfortable beds. Thai cuisine restaurant is exceptionally good yet affordable. Smoking patio and grassed garden area with loungers.

Nothing, I was 'blown away' with the quality and value for money.

Friendly helpful staff, loved the Restaurant, had an excellent fish pie, next time would venture into the Thai menu. Room small but well appointed, guess most rooms larger. Very good value including discount in Restaurant. Attractive decor, scrupulously clean throughout. Even the parking was well laid out. Well done.

Was a bit noisy with window open traffic noise from a couple of roads over. There was an air-conditioning unit so could have closed the windows

Great location just 25 minutes walk in to the town centre - free on site parking - a very warm welcome at reception - spotlessly clean throughout - we asked for a quiet top floor room which was provided albeit up some narrow quite steep stairs - the room was small hence slightly marked down in terms of comfort but fine for a short stay - we would definitely stay at The Verve again

Room was a small single but perfect for a night stay. Friendly and obliging staff. Had a nice garden area or would be in normal times but affected by the drought.

The only thing that let the cleanliness down was the dark looking grouting at the bottom part of the shower. Needed cleaning or replacing. Continental breakfast was somewhat carb heavy. Also pastries should not be heated in a microwave - makes them soggy. The new looking decor is very ‘striking’.
