Holiday Inn Express Bedford, an IHG Hotel

Staff were friendly but professional, very helpful and worked hard to give the best stay possible

Breakfast was limited, the food was good but only egg choice was scrambled which I don't eat, the only moisture for a cooked breakfast was that or baked beans and I can't eat those due to a medical problem so I was left with bacon and sausage, both were lovely but it felt incomplete and dry. Cooked tomatoes, mushrooms or poached eggs would have made for a much nicer start to the day . The evening menu was very limited but the curry was delicious.

Nothing to report, it's understood that this is not a luxury boutique hotel, it is a convenient, practical stop for travellers and it fulfils this mission very well. Although it was not an issue this time, we suggest that smokers be prevented/discouraged from congregating right at the door, where one must pass through and breathe their smoke in order to get inside; the concept of "smoke-free access and stay" should be implemented.

The location was right where we needed and the room was ample for 1 nights stay. Check in was easy. The staff throughout were lovely. Good pillows. The location was quiet as well even with windows open. Bags were available at breakfast for take aways. Really liked the use of space in bathroom.

There were only two cups for a three person room. One bed light was starched from it's socket. There's no way to just have the bed/main room lights (not the spots) on without the hall and main lights on. No gluten free cereal options on display for breakfast.

All the staff I spoke to were really helpful and friendly... a credit to the hotel. I'd arrived earlier than planned, and the room was readily available for me to book in. Reception arranged a taxi for me as I was off to a function that evening. My twin-room was really clean and a good size. The shower was great, and worked well. There were plenty of towels. Air condition unit in the room was such a bonus, as it was the hottest day of the year. Breakfast was tasty, and food was replenished quickly when running low. It's not often I travel alone, but found the stay over in this hotel pleasant and easy.... thanks If I'm ever back in Bedford, I would stay here again.

My only small gripe was that the same room that I booked was reduced by approx £15 on Booking.com the evening before I was due to arrive, but it was too late to change my booking on here. I mentioned this at reception on arrival, but was told there was nothing they could do, as it was through booking.com..... if I had booked direct, they could have changed the price! Especially as there were still quite a few rooms available at the hotel that night. Moral of this ... maybe booking direct might be the way to go next time! A bit disappointing.... I hope you read this Booking.com

Originally planned to stay in Milton Keynes as it would have been closer to the sporting event event we planned to see. Due to lack of availability at Milton Keynes decided to try Bedford. Pleased to say the location of the hotel and the proximity to the Bedford retail park 5 minutes drive up the road worked ok for us and the extra distance required to get to the sporting event was offset by the cost of the hotel so 100% happy and would use the hotel again. Also parking was readily available.

Mobile data signal might be poor on some networks but couldn't blame the hotel for that. The hotel wifi was excellent though. The parking at the hotel was monitored and you have to register your car number at reception. I have been bitten by this at other hotels as some require you to register each day you are at the hotel rather than a one off for entire stay. Unsure if this is the case at this hotel and reception didn't say so get a receipt when you leave so you can challenge the parking fine at a later date. As the parking enforcement is normally done by a seperate company who have a BIG incentive not to check if you are still staying at hotel

Staff were very helpful and friendly and buffet was good..only issue was some of the public areas and public facilities like the microwave for baby's milk was filthy dirty and on arrival bins over flowing outside reception door followed by very dirty mat so first impressions not good. We always leave our room tidy and strip all beds to help cleaners do their job.

Great staff who helped me a lot while I was traveling with three children. Great breakfast which was unexpected as I thought it was only continental tal so cannot fault the price of 135 for two nights. They ran short of one of the juices and the man called Bright replaced it with a drink from the bar and my daughter was delighted. The staff lf were really considerate around the kids, the cleaners were the same. Tiffany and all of the front of house staff made us feel really welcome..I travel a lot and have not had this kind of service at these prices for some time. Keep those prices down and you will keep being busy.

Honestly didn't have any issues at all!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, tidy and well presented. We both found the beds comfortable and the shower worked well with plenty of hot water.

It was a particularly hot evening and the air con was not working so we had to leave the window open and a group of swearing youths were outside being very noisy until the early hours of the morning. We were shocked to find that teabags and instant coffee were the only available drinks in the room no fruit tea bags either. Instant coffee in 2023! Most hotels seem to have coffee pod machines in the room now.

Good, simple buffet breakfast, nicely cooked, everything is clean, plenty space, room pleasant, quiet, the location is not the best, but easy for the bypass interchange & motorway. Staff very good service

Could probably give two room key cards, rather than only one, if there are two of you staying in the room, because if you go out of the room, you have to remove the digital key card in order to get back in. However this leaves whoever remains in the room without power, lights etc, especially if they are in the lavatory. As it seems you cannot unsneck the door for you to return without it.

Again for the 3rd time round since booking this property Everything went accordingly and flawless. Smooth hassle free rapid check-in and check out. All staff I came upon friendly helpful and warm welcoming. Ample parking and great location just off the A6/A421 Bedford Bypas so no fighting your way through traffic etc. Nice tidy spacious clean room with a very comfortable bed ensures a well relaxed sleep.

The freezing cold weather but that's uncontrollable and such is life and doesn't reflect on the hotel in anyway shape or form.
