The accessible room was great. Very spacious, you could park right outside the room and there was another door leading out into a lovely courtyard, from which the restaurant was accessed. No steps, all level throughout. Staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was immaculately clean, was tastefully decorated with lovely finishing touches. The restaurant in the converted train was just lovely and the food was great.

There was a slight hum from the adjourning wall which was where the kitchen was. It wasn't enough to disturb us but may affect some people if you are particularly sensitive to sounds.

We ate dinner and breakfast here. The food was lovely and we enjoyed both very much. The room was excellent and fun. Probably one of the cleanest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. Plus the windows opened fully which is pretty unusual (and necessary in the summer). The only problem we had was an inconsiderate guest in the room next door who had the TV on until the early hours of the morning (still going at 2am) which showed us that the walls don't stop sound carrying through. But an inconsiderate guest is not really the fault of the hotel. I'd stay here again, hopefully in a different room so I get to see more of the individually themed rooms.

I'm not sue that there was anything that could have been better. It was more than we expected for the price, location and general description.

Everything about this hotel was good - the decor, the room, the bed, the staff, the food, the drink. I enjoyed some excellent cider on draught (from a Dorset-based producer, if I recall correctly) and I believe they host real ale nights with local beers also. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the choices of breakfasts are excellent. I'm not especially into trains, but the superb railway-themed decor is beautifully done with intimate booths in the 'dining car' eating area and the rooms named after famous engines. The room was spacious and welcoming - I slept like a log in the comfy bed and was sorry to leave at the end of my stay.

Nothing really. The only negative I can think of was not being able to spend more time at the hotel because commitments elsewhere in the local area meant I was not there much of the time.

The unique and quirky train/train station theme (it is a converted train station). The facilities, right down to the comfort in the bar area and the dining carriage style of the restaurant/dining area. It's very quiet and a short walk to Fordingbridge and an easy drive to a lot of other attractions.

There wasn't anything to complain about, the waiter for breakfast was a little off as he wanted us to order straight away after sitting down, saying we were booked for 8 and it was nearly 9 and lots of other people would be down for breakfast. (we had booked for 9 and it was 8:50) we told him and he went away to check, obviously saw that we were right and wasn't happy about being wrong. Other than that and that really wasn't an issue, everything else was great. All the other staff were helpful, chatty and happy.

We chose the premium room with the sitting room and were pleasantly surprised to find a TV in both the bedroom and the sitting room! Very comfortable bed and the best shower I think we’ve ever had (and we travel a lot)! Hot and strong with both an overhead and separate head. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent and the cooked breakfast was freshly cooked. Large portions too. Friendly staff and would certainly recommend staying here - Don’t be put off by the slightly austere outside!

Dining chairs could be improved.

I have stayed in Orient Express room . Absolutely stunning decor , huge super comfy bed , fabulous bathroom ( shower and a free standing bath ) . Hair dryer , iron , toiletries , tea & coffee. The host was probably my favourite part 😂 so welcoming , nice and funny ! The breakfast ( included in price ) was amazing and plenty of food for one person . Very clean . Plenty of parking just outside , I could actually see my car from my room.

The price , I have paid 157£ for one night stay which perhaps is a bit much .

LIKE'S Easily accessible to all places - food and rooms were top notch. The few staff we encountered were very polite, and answered any queries we had.

We were in the "Bungalow" at the back, and spread ourselves out into the two bedrooms. Everything is so new, and we found it difficult to know how to open the windows in the one bedroom, and the fire doors, although a necessity, were very heavy, and rather a nuisance when we were going from room to room. Lorraine: a lovely person, and very good in all her dealings. - but - please get her to see a hairdresser as it made her look rather "scruffy". ? Other than that - I have never given a ten out of ten - so you have come close ....9/10.

The hotel is railway themed and there were lots of little extra touches in the dining area and main pub area. We received a free upgrade on arrival. The room was spotless and so beautifully decorated. The bed was comfy and they had the heating on full blast so that we were cosy. We had dinner, which was delicious, as was the breakfast the next morning (breakfast was included in the price). The staff were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.

Didn't have any negatives about the hotel. We came away with a very positive opinion.

The location is exceptional. We were getting married up the road at Sandleheath Village Hall and The Railway Hotel was the perfect location for us. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food for breakfast is plentiful and delicious. We also had a lovely dinner in the restaurant the night before. We loved the decor, it is very whimsical and fun.

We stayed in the cottage and were, at times, quite warm. It would have been helpful to have a bigger fan.

We had the Pullman room which is dog friendly. It has direct access to the car park as well as the inner courtyard, making it very easy to off-load the paraphernalia associated with travelling with a pet. The room was large and well appointed and uncluttered, with a great bathroom with walk-in shower. It also had a large walk-in wardrobe with a chest of drawers, hanging rail and plenty of room to store cases. Great Breakfast selection. The staff were all friendly and seemed happy to be there, which gives a really good feeling.

I can't think of anything.
