The hotel is very central and there is free parking in a public car park to the rear. You'll have to use your map to get to it via the one way system! You have to pay to park in the square in front. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a good size bathroom. We were on the 2nd floor but there is a lift. The building has a lot of history and it's great to see it preserved. Breakfast not included, but the pub underneath serves a range of breakfasts until 11:30 with bottomless tea and coffee for a very cheap price

The room was a little cramped and the pillows too soft.

It was central to visiting friends, in fact walking distance to their house , Warm rooms, hot water , good shower . Bonus of it being in a pub for breakfast , dinner, drinks etc . Staff very friendly.a lift was useful. No noise except for the seagulls.

It could do with a little refresh and TLC. one of the blinds on the window was broken and a screw missing from the toilet paper holder . Carpet could do with a bit of a deep clean . But it didn’t take away anything from our stay . I did report the small damages to the cleaning staff and she said she would tell the manager.

Not massive double room but well appointed and immaculately clean. Very comfy bed and good linen. All facilities I needed or wanted- and amazing shower - for the age of the building I was surprised at the water pressure. Shower design was excellent for anti-slip hazards - groved entrance (like a draining board); grab rails, and both a plastic and the towelling bath mat against slippage. great view out over the Square and over the skyline to the sea. access to Wethespoons underneath for food was a benefit.

Sound insulation could be better - within the floor - not from the pub underneath - but it's an old building so restrictions - hotel can't mitigate the behaviour of others.

The room was very spacious, very clean, modern and cosy. The en-suite with walk-in shower was a godsend as there was plenty of space to get showered and changed. The mirrors and lightening in the wardrobe area were also great for getting ready.

The hair dryer wasn’t very powerful and would take a good while to dry hair. There was a burning smell coming from it when I turned it on so I didn’t get much use of it. This didn’t make a difference to my stay at the hotel though and was only a minor thing.

Very close to the harbour, accommodation, drinks and food were very good value - although I’m not sure there was much else open on a bank holiday Monday anyway.

Expect to find a lot of seagull poo on your cars in the morning if you unwisely choose one of the parking spaces right in front of the hotel. And don’t think you’ll get away without paying the car park fee as I noticed a traffic warden doing his checks at 9 in the morning.

Good location with cheap parking outside. Food (in general excellent but....see later) and drinks amazingly cheap (good beer @ £1.10 per pint). I'll be back next year. More birdwatching (my main reason this time). Kinnaird Head and the fascinating harbour is nearby. Jack Harrison

I had steak one evening. A steak knife was thoughtfully provided but a chain saw would have been more appropriate. Next night I had ham, egg and chips. Quality pig meat. Puddings first class. Problem with the bedroom. I (aged almost 83) am severely arthritic. I simply could not - dare not - attempt to climb into the bath for a shower. My apologies to the staff for any pong! (Yes I could have an overall wash but hair became scruffy - but who would notice the difference from normal?)

Clean, comfortable, quiet, well appointed room at the top of the hotel. Everything worked. Food and drink was fantastic and good value for money. Great breakfast the following morning. Perfect for a cosy, quick get-away from it all. The staff were also fantastic.

The fire-alarm at 10.45pm was a bit of a downer (some idiot smoking in the toilets - not the hotels fault). Dealt with in a very professionally manner otherwise. WiFi wasn't great at the top of the hotel.

The accommodation was what we expected but struggled with the wi-fi though. Breakfast was predominantly off a cooked menu, would have liked a choice of cereal. Thought that it might have been a bit noisy on the Saturday night but pleased to say we were not disturbed. Handy having restaurant facility in-house.

Pillows were very small and we don't generally eat cooked breakfast.

The staff were great, nothing was too much trouble especially after our first night. We were moved to a different room, which was lovely and quiet and very comfortable.

The room we were in the first night was terribly noisy. Like having a small jet engine above us. My son, who is 7 didn't get to sleep till 10.30 and I barely got any sleep. My husband however can sleep through thunder!! I've answered the room questions based on the 2nd room not the one we had on our first night.
