Station Hotel

Lovely spacious room with comfy bed and a nice hot shower. The hotel is right on the 'Formartine and Buchan Way' so perfect for hikers walking this track. There is a restaurant in the hotel but you have the choice to have a meal from the same menu in the bar. We had a roast pork dinner which was very tasty. The hotel looked like it had been recently refurbished. Breakfast was included and a good choice of a continental or hot breakfast was available. Staff were very friendly. A great hotel at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend

Breakfast was excellent. Dining room well set out and not intimidating. I enjoyed an evening meal in the restaurant, lovely food and good service. The bed was very comfortable, The en-suite bathroom facility was clean with fresh towels. The staff were very attentive when I needed anything and also sympathetic to the problems I encountered with the local health centre which I had cause to use during my stay. I would certainly want to stay at the hotel again. The hotel serves the local people well with a nice restaurant and separate bar adjoining the hotel.

Nothing really. It would have been thoughtful if the previous occupier of the room had reported that the bedside lights were not working. However these were promptly fixed.

A traditional hotel with high ceilings large corridors and rooms, all kept pristine and inviting. Designed with the comfort of guests in mind with ample facilities and comfortable dining options. The Arches restaurant is great value for money with a range of dishes on offer to suit everyone including the kids menu. Staff are warm and knowledgeable with a focus on customer care and a willingness to go the extra mile. A lovely hotel both inside and out and a very comfortable stay during your travels to Aberdeenshire. We have stayed more than once and intend to make The Station Hotel our go to option when in Ellon.

Reasonable value, good breakfast, all of the staff were very pleasant and friendly, particularly the lovely lady who seemed to be covering all areas - bar, restaurant, breakfast etc during our stay. The room was quite spacious and everything was fresh and clean, ample parking space and away from any main roads so safe for our motorcycles, a short walk into the centre of town and not too far from the coast.

The evening meal was plentiful but a little on the bland side on both nights we stayed, they could make more of the hotel's history - it obviously served the railway in the past and signs of the station platform remain along the adjacent car park - it would be nice to see something made of that, some historical photos etc

I liked how quiet it was from traffic etc .Staff were very pleasant. The restraint within the hotel was a surprisingly fine experience.

Room was quite dusty, Cracking little TV, but a little on small side to watch too far from it. Shower door should be sliding as I struggled ...I was on crutches but think would be more practical anyway.

we liked everything about this hotel from when we went in the front door the staff were very helpfull the room was spotless the bar was good we had a meal that was great so was the breakfast this is a gem of a place would recomend to anyone you get a great stay for a great price could have stayed longer if we had the time

The hotel was spotlessly clean and although only 2 stars we have stayed in 3 star hotels who would be in a worse condition. The staff were great and it was good value for money. Bedroom was large and bathroom had a walk in shower all in excellwnt condition. Breakfast was very good. All in all we would be more than happy staying there again

The breakfast had an excellent selection, thick bacon that doesn’t shrivel away to a burnt nothing or worse remain a wet dishcloth. Ellon is a beautiful town and a river walk was right by the hotel - wonderful!

The TV could be a little larger but this was a minor inconvenience.

The hotel was clean, comfortable with great shower facility. Location was a really lovely village with lovely friendly people. Hotel owner was very friendly and attentive. Food from both breakfast and restaurant was great with a good choice. The bar was very unexpected and full of very friendly locals. We had a great time!!

The breakfast was excellent and served quickly. Fresh ingredients and nice and hot. Staff friendly and very helpful. Room was warm and heating very efficient and controllable in the room. Excellent bedding and towels.

The bed would have been better if it had been a king size as there was plenty space in the large room.
