The Waterside

For the price of this hotel I don’t know how anyone could complain, the standard room was large, clean and the bed was very comfortable, i took my dog but you wouldn’t know dogs had been in that room previously as it was spotless, Tv, tea and coffee, hairdryer and leisure facilities if you want to use them all in all a great bargain for a night away

Smoking at the entrance to the hotel, should be out of sight or to the side as lots of cigarette buts around the entrance to the hotel

Spacious room, comfortable bed, good breakfast and nice staff. They were truly kind during our stay and have even arranged a table in the foyer so we could have breakfast with our little dogs instead of leaving them behind.

It would have been better to have a fridge and a larger TV, but we have chosen a budget room so probably we shouldn't have expected that. Very good room otherwise, newly decorated and spotless clean.

Easy check in, took about 3 min. The room was quite clean, the facilities were great. Kids loved the swimming pool, It was a comfy stay. Staff is always there to help you. I would definitely recommend Waterside to everyone.

Really good value for money. Spacious Double Room with bath and overhead shower, TV and a fridge! Kettle, coffee, tea and biscuits. All for under £50 per night. Gym, pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room all pretty good if a little dated. Hot water is hot though..not lukewarm. Costs £5 per day or £10 for duration of visit for guests. Plenty of parking. Staff very pleasant and helpful even under pressure. We didn't use the dining facilities so cannot comment.

Times for facilities wrong on website. Check with staff if you can find them. Prices for pool etc not explained. Still, felt very sorry for the poor guy on reception on arrival. He was also the barman and everyone else it seems!

Firstly all I can say is "James" 100% is a fantastic manager and he made our stay magical. From the moment we arrived all the way from Berkshire we were made to feel like we had been invited into someone's home. Fantastic welcome and booking in, when we got to our room a box of shortbread and Xmas pressies for our daughter which definitely went above and beyond, stayed in many hotels and we have never had a greeting like this, so was a lovely gesture. The spa pool area was lovely, great way to relax after a long journey and really appreciated the opening times during the Christmas weekend. We had half board, breakfast amazing cooked to order and was perfect every morning. Dinner was also amazing the portion sizes are huge and beautifully cooked we struggled to finish. Loved the atmosphere of the dining area. Locally there is a beautiful beach 15 minute walk from the hotel, stunning location. Also suggested to us Slains Castle in Cruden Bay which is set on a cliff and with the bright sunny day made for a great Boxing Day walk. We only went for the Xmas break but due to how wonderful our stay was we will definitely plan to return and explore more of Scotland. Nothing to not like...

We loved how homely the hotel was and there is something for everyone todo. My boy loved the connect four game and the pool table. The food is to die for, it’s locally Sourced so you know it’s going to be delicious.The bonus was the pool.we would like to specifically thank Nicola she has been a gem to us throughout our stay, we ended up extending our stay thanks to her hospitality and kindness. She is a credit to your company. We will be highly recommending your hotel and we will 100 percent coming back to stay. Thank you.

The staff were so helpful and friendly and made the stay absolutely wonderful. They were very accomodating with our dog and made the trip a complete delight. It felt like going back in time but in a wonderful peaceful way. The beds were so comfortable, the scenery and area were fabulous with lovely food in the restaurant.

When there were coach trips, there was not enough staff to cope with all guests and at times there the bar was unattended with a long wait to get staff. The food was lovely but quite expensive especially as there are not many places to eat in Peterhead. It would have been better to have a cheaper option and/ or the buffet that coach guests were having. The pool was great but it was disappointing that we had to pay for the use as hotel guests and that we were notified when using that there would be aqua aerobics class so that we were stuck in a corner and couldn't really use. We didn't use the WiFi because again, it was an extra cost.

Love that we are able to take our two small dogs with us. When we arrived we had booked an executive room as we always have, as we like having a bigger room. We were informed that dogs are not allowed in the executive room. Said if we are not getting the room, we will just go home. Manager was then called and eventually give us the room. Next time just a standard double, we asked to see one and we were not impressed. Looks like we will have to find another hotel

Staff were amazing,5* to them all,from the minute we arrived until we left we felt so welcome,room was immaculate and being a single parent traveling with 2 kids I loved the fact I was based on the ground floor close to reception,my oldest son has eating issues and although I thought the breakfast was amazing,everything you could want to start the day off,my son however didn't like anything,he had asked for pancakes and me thinking "there not gonna cater to just your needs" well how I was wrong,Pancakes were on his table the next day requested from the waitress to the manager James,to me this is top class service and something I have not seen in a long time however the waterside I have to say is by far one of the best hotels I could recommend,my stay I will be speaking about for a long time.

You have to pay for WiFi & the use of the pool.

The waterside staff were very pleasant- lovely greeting on check in, clear communication in regards to breakfast dinner and where things were, the room was incredibly clean and comfortable, everything available including extra pillows, cushions and blankets not that these were needed as the room was incredibly warm..food was great and quite a menu to chose from with 3 courses in the evening and a buffet breakfast where eggs are cooked to order..

I had booked a twin room for my friend and I but we were given a room with a double bed, im sure it wouldn't of been a hassle to ask for the twin but my friend and I were quite happy just to share, plug sockets in the room were mostly European? 3 points but round and can't get our plugs in we had 2 available to charge our phones/use hair dryer/kettle etc..but hey they was a fridge which kept the wine chilled
