Hedgefield House

Hedgefield House is located in a quiet area, up a drive, not on the roadside. When you arrive you see the beautiful gardens. There was plenty of parking space. David, the owner was there to meet me, and show me to my room. He's a very helpful man. He told me everything I needed to know, but said, see him if if there was anything I needed to know. My room was a very good size, everything I needed. It was very clean everywhere. My bed was comfortable, I had a good night's sleep, no sirens etc on the road. I liked my stay.

I liked my stay very much. When booking you will see breakfast isn't available, but very close by you can buy breakfast, and other food. David will give you directions.

Hedgefield House is stunning. The decor is quirky, full of character, the rooms are decorated to the highest standards and the whole property is spotlessly clean and fresh. The property sits in extensive mature gardens. David the owner was extremely helpful, telling me the history of the house and showing me the other exeptional rooms - all decorated individually and again to the highest standards and spotlessly clean. I found the four poster bed to be very comfortable and supportive. If you love a house with individual character then I highly recommend a stay at Hedgefield House. Its in a great location with the Metro Centre being only ten minutes away, a restaurant next door. I will certainly be returning soon.

Nothing! I absolutely loved Hedgefield House. My only slight recommendation would be to provide a simple basic continent breakfast, although we managed perfectly well without one.

We booked for two nights as part of our anniversary trip and on arrival we were offered the honeymoon suite due to a cancellation and for a little extra payment. On being shown to our room it brought the biggest smile to our faces, the room and everything about it was huge and amazing. From the four poster bed, a row of built in wardrobes with a hidden suprise of a room behind two of the doors. The bathroom was another wow factor with his and hers wash basins and the best bit is the huge bath, made for two and also a separate shower unit. The room was very spacious with beautiful furniture to sit and look over the well kept and vast gardens. The room was clean and tidy with a huge TV, plenty of tea and coffees, if you want food it is only next door at the restaurant via a short cut and the food is the best we have had. The owner David was so helpful with information and nothing was too much trouble if we needed anything. It was a lovely suprise from David with a complimentary box of chocolates for our anniversary. We have stayed there before and it won't be our last, each room is different and it really is the perfect place to stay for location to every where.

We didn't want to leave. There is nothing not to like about this place.

Lovely hotel in a picturesque setting. Excellent friendly host. Big rooms light and airy, beds comfortable and very quiet, ideal to commute to Newcastle and good transport links.

Only slight criticism was the lack of breakfast or any food offering, hopefully this is something that becomes available, there is an Italian restaurant up the road but nearest shops are a ten/fifteen minute walk into Blaydon.

I have had the fortune to be a guest with David and Mark previously. It is always a pleasure and exceeded my expectations in all ways. They are fabulous hosts, and iI am saddened a little more to leave every time. The house is a treasure trove of sights it is exquisite and exactly what is needed for a little but of a country escape near the city. I look forward to staying with them again as always.

Room lovely,clean ,and very welcoming. Facilities 1st class..Situated in beautiful surroundings.Owner obviously likes to make feel guests welcome in well maintained accommodation Owner David welcoming but left us to enjoy the stay knowing that if we needed anything it would be provided..

Easy to book in,felt very relaxed. Room fabulous,liked being left to our own devices but knowing we could get help,information if needed. Location fabulouscas very peaceful but lovely restaurant next door and access to Newcastle and other tourist attractions easily accessible.

The accommodation was in a lovely garden setting, with free, safe and secure off-road parking. The room was clean and comfortable and generally quiet. The room was very modestly priced. I would definitely stay again.

The room had no refrigerator, and the bathroom was not en-suite, but a few metres down the passage. However I did not have to share this bathroom with other guests, and my room did have a washbasin.

I was travelling for business, weather was bad so decided to find somewhere to stay. My wife booked this while I was on the road. Not disappointed, lovely place, comfortable room, greeted personally and nothing too much trouble. Also plenty of secure parking always a bonus. Altogether a great stay plus really good value for money. Would book again and many thanks 😊.

Nothing to not like

The house itself is great - this is the third time I’ve stayed here and it’s close to where I need to be. Also everything is very clean.

The only two minor issues that we had and should have brought it to David’s attention is that the room was a little cold and the shower wasn’t as powerful as I was expecting. This would not stop me from staying again.
