DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newcastle International Airport

So nicely fitted out, great rooms. Lovely mezzanine bridge type thing. Beautiful shower room. Sparkly clean. Lovely hot chocolate in the rooms. Comfy bed and nice pillows. Staff lovely and warm welcome and helpful- gave us great directions to the metro and to the utilita arena. Cookie on arrival nice touch! Will stay again at any Hilton for sure our favourite hotels.

There was no sign directing us to reception from the lifts so when we turned right we thought that was through a restaurant and didn’t want to go that way as we didn’t want to walk through a restaurant but that was the way to reception.

Reception were exceptional. Very friendly and welcoming and sincere with it. Muhammed the waiter was great, very polite and professional in his service and attitude. Room clean.

Some of restaurant staff didn't seem to understand the basics of a luxury restaurant. It was more of a village hall approach. Tables and chairs being dragged around and moved instead of simply lifting. Sitting 2 single males directly either side of us in an empty restaurant when we are having a romantic meal is just not how a restaurant runs in the normal world. Plenty of seats available, the restaurant is very large and we were the only ones in there. Felt weird. Supervisor, im guessing she was, walking around without a smile the entire time with keys jangling like some sort of jailer. Not the impression of a Hilton hotel that I'm used to. No charge points or sockets next to bed.

I was able to check in early at around 11.30am as the was ready. With going to a wedding straight away and knowing I'd be coming back drunk I really appreciated this. The staff were all really friendly which was lovely, although its Newcastle and northerners are known for being friendly. The breakfast was good too, and as I arrived the receptionist was happy to arrange a taxi for me and it was outside waiting by the time I'd got back down from putting my stuff in the room. So she didn't mess about. The room was great, I slept really well although I was very drunk. I was able to contact the hotel in advance when I had a few questions and they replied within a few hours so I was happy with that. I left 2 shirts in my room which they've been able to hold for me until I'm able to return, they didn't offer to post them but I'm not really bothered by that.

I noticed the shower didn't have a grab rail and the only thing to grab that was fixed in place when climbing out of the shower was the radiator as the shower glass moved easily. I didn't feel it would be wise to use a wall hung radiator for balance so I managed without. I didn't notice a grip mat for in the shower, although I didn't look. So I did feel there was a bit of a slip risk getting out of the shower, the previous nights alcohol will have been a factor. When booking I'm sure booking.com said the hotel was roughly 2 miles from the wedding venue but ended up being £25 in a taxi each way so its clearly much further, but I don't attach any blame to the hotel for this.

Breakfast had a good choice and was hot. Staff in bar and restaurant were good even though it was busy. Beds were comfy and great to have pillows which are not full of fresh air like other hotels! Rain shower was lovely Towels were good quality

The rooms were too warm and there was no opening on the window. The air con worked but only down to 16. Could have done with an option to go lower if possible. Firecracker chicken wings had no spice to them and the skin on the wings were soggy. Would have been better serving them crispy with the sauce on the side.

Excellent location for the airport. It allowed us to check in our luggage at the airport before having to do so next morning .On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by friendly receptionists and given a a nice tasty treat. We had a drink in the bar which was very welcoming with a warm fire to keep us warm and cosy. We ate in the restaurant where there was a varied choice of meals available. We found the room to be really lovely and the walk in shower was amazing. On check out it took seconds and we were in the airport minutes after leaving the hotel. We are travelling again in June and will definitely be booking a room again at the Doubletree hotel.

We love this hotel, it is in an excellent location (directly opposite the airport) and the rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. Before our stay we contacted the hotel to request a runway view - we couldn’t have asked for a better room, great views and a really nice size! Staff at reception were lovely and really welcoming and helpful. We had dinner in the on-site Italian restaurant and our meals were excellent and very reasonably priced.

The only issue we encountered was the seal on the shower door had come away, meaning we had to put a towel down to stop water running onto the bathroom floor. When we reported this on check-out the staff were grateful and made arrangements to have it fixed. Nothing else was an issue!

The cleanliness of the room was outstanding, and tranquil, huge bed, It was amazing I could order my evening meal in my room as I was alone and did not want to sit in a restaurant, Th meal of Fish Chips with trimmings was lovely also to have a glass of wine with my meal was very enjoyable.

I have been trying to think of something but it is difficult, the only thing I can say is if the downstairs bar was small I had to wait for a seat to have a drink, but that did not matter the staff were very friendly and attentive

After a two day travel it was super pleasant to just walk over to the hotel, no more waiting for yet another transport. I was greater very friendly. All I wanted was a smooth and quick check in and to get into my room. And exactly that was what I got, including a warm cookie and multiple free drink choices in tge room. I was so surprised how this airport hotel is literally next to the airport, but I did not hear much of the airtraffic, all in all it was very quiet. It felt as if the Hotel management knew: their guests had a long journey in their bones, let's welcome them with all sorts of drinks and even more cookies in the room. Of course there is a restaurant etc as well. I had to move closet to the city after this hotel (into another Hilton), and must say, I preferred the airport hotel.

Did arrive early expected to wait) but waited 2 hours for room notwithstanding about 30 other rooms were allocated whilst I waited. Pre allocation of room numbers so you arrive early and rooms are available but not yours??? Also I am staying at Airport hotel for 3 nights (most here for 1)...and room allocation is next to cleaning cupboards so staff are occupied outside the room from early morning. Why would you do that?

. The room was very good . And convenience to the airport was excellent . Reception and staff were efficient and really friendly . I would stay here again overall I liked the hotel . Cleanliness and attention to detail was very good . The bar food was really tasty.

The price of drinks I thought was over the top almost £10 for a pint and a tonic water .the bar and bar meal area were on the small side . I think more people would have used this area if it was more spacious.
