A very nice breakfast - freshly looked to our requirements'. As we had an appointment near Huntingdon, the location of Stukeley's Hotel was just right for where we needed to be. It also had good communication links - being close to a number of main roads.

Everything about the hotel was good for us. Our room was clean and comfortable - as was the bathroom. The only thing we found rather difficult was the lighting in our bedroom. There was a ceiling light in one corner of the room - with a very low voltage/wattage bulb in it - which gave quite a feeble light, together with 2 table lamps - both of which only gave out a very low light and it was actually quite difficult to see to read. We did mention this to the owner, who was quite understanding, and did not realise this fact as she said she never goes into the room when it is dark and so was unaware of how dimly the lights shone in that room. She said she will certainly investigate and sort it out.

A very nice breakfast - freshly cooked. Comfortable twin-bedded room with comfortable beds. TV with a good, clear picture and a large bathroom with effective shower and a good supply of hot water. The hotel/pub itself is very oldy-worldy with character features and wooden beams etc - very cosy. The hotel is in a very convenient, but quite quiet location, with good (free!) parking and access. It is quite close to a number of main roads heading north, south and east - and only a couple of miles from the town of Huntingdon. It suited our needs exactly.

The only minor point was that when it got dark outside, the room did not have very good lighting. There were 2 table lamps and one non-central ceiling lamp - all of which had different sorts of shades and not very powerful bulbs. We did mention this to the owner, who was most appreciative of the comments and said that she did not realise this, as she only goes into the rooms in daylight. However, she promised to investigate. Only a minor point in what was otherwise a very nice visit and yes, we would stay there again.

The room was lovely and comfortable , I thought we would be disturbed by the pub downstairs but we didn't notice it at all.

The fixtures in the room needed some attention. Fittings for a sash curtain above the bed were still there but no curtain. The imitation brass foot of the bed needed repair or replacing as there were bits missing which lead to a sharp threaded bar sticking out the bottom. The only noise came from the room above when they walked around , but it is an old building. The end of the curtain rail was missing , so the rail was hanging off. All of the above were minor things and did not stop us enjoying the room.

This characterful old coaching Inn is full of creaks and quirkiness. It's been brought up to modern standards without loosing its old world charm. Despite some hiccups caused by incorrect information on booking.com, the owners went out of their way to put things right for us. We had an excellent night's sleep and a fabulous breakfast. It tasted like locally sourced ingredients in the full English. Would stay here again if we're in the area.

Unfortunately some of the cleaning lacked attention to detail, but the important bits were done properly.

Ideally placed for easy access from the A14/A1. Very quiet village so a real rest from travelling. Friendly reception but told on arrival that no food would be available because the man in charge was on his own. I complained and he relented and said he would cook for us. In the end 2 other couples who were resident also ate in the evening. The food was very good. The village was pleasant to walk round with our dog.

It didn't affect us but the opening hours are idiosyncratic. The bar closes very early on week nights and food is never served after 8pm. It is not quite clear whether this is a village pub, a hotel or a weird hybrid.

located close to RAF Alconbury ( dont worry - its not an active airfield), in a village, its a perfect location to explore cambridgeshire , ELY etc... drinks are reasonably priced, breakfast is cooked to order, but maybe lacks a few extras like yoghurts/fruit etc.. lunch and evening meals also well priced ( £15 for sirloin steak that was perfectly cooked), but no evening meal on sundays, ( this is well advertised on boards and in room). nearest shop is a short drive away, not walkable. very friendly with a monthly sunday quiz thats very popular - if a bit hard (for a dunce like me), seating outside is a sun trap - great.

shame about not doing food on sunday evenings but do understand probably lack of demand,

I’m originally from the US, so having an opportunity to stay in a building that is older than my country was an absolute treat. I love the charm and atmosphere of this pub. I’m a history buff and really appreciate and value old architecture. Seeing signs of original wood beams and craftsmanship throughout the pub area and the room itself says a lot about those who own and manage this local gem. The room was clean and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Aside from a small hiccup of low water pressure in the shower, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I live locally and my boiler at home went out. I had no heat at my house. During a sub-zero few days, the Stukeley provided a warm, comfortable place to call home for three nights. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is top-notch. The wifi works just as well in the rooms as in the pub area. I will definitely be back, at least for the food as long as my boiler continues to work.

Absolutely lovely staff and the hotel is just beautiful - nothing is too much trouble for the staff they went above and beyond. The rooms are just gorgeous and the peace and quiet in the night is lovely after a long day travel. Gorgeous - will be back!

Perhaps a little remote but again the hotel makes up for it - superb.

The full English breakfast was very good and cooked to order. I also had a good evening meal. Lots of free parking next to the hotel.

The room lighting was quite dim. I have stayed in rooms 7 and 4. Room 7 has one recessed spotlight in the corner of the ceiling. Room 4 has 4 spotlights but the bulbs could be brighter.
