Ramada Cambridge

Very lovely welcome at reception. Our room 129 was nearby so no carrying our bags for miles was a bonus. Room was clean and cosy with everything there we expected. Shower fabulous and squidgy pillows and bed. Many facilities in the adjacent services building including eateries, coffee and Smith's. The loos were clean too👍🏻 If staying in the hotel, you can book breakfast and an evening meal for £25. We unfortunately didn't have time to try this as our son was a patient in Addenbrookes Hospital and therefore spent most of our 3 days there. Car parking was free for our stay but ensure reception have your car registration number. If we have to stay near the hospital again, this is where we would come. So very easy to go to Trumpington Park & Ride, leave the car for free (for upto 18 hours) and then bus it straight into the hospital grounds.

Forgot to mention to the desk team that the shower door glass was a little loose within its frame and noisy whenever it opened and closed. This isn't a complaint but probably something they should be made aware of.

Clean, spacious, good easy to use shower. One of the questions asked on the register form was my date of birth (I am 78), I do not know if that was why I had a ground floor room, but it was much appreciated. Nice reception area, more up market than Travelodge at about the same price or less, will use again.

Wifi not easy to connect, of the about 10 full disabled car spaces, only 2 cars had badges in the window, I had to wait until somebody moved as I am a disabled driver. No information booklet in the room about the facilities of the hotel, nothing at all, no breakfast price list etc., so used McDonalds next door.

I was initially disappointed when we arrived that it looked like a truck stop, but in fact the staff were very helpful and friendly, the rooms while tiny had nearly everything you need and were clean, well-maintained, quiet and comfortable. The breakfast is very good - much better than I expected in a hotel at this price. The cook will cook eggs to order if necessary.

I was disappointed that the rooms didnt have a fridge, which we need to store insulin overnight, but the reception staff put it in their fridge for us.

Location and available free parking is a main thing - makes this hotel perfect for Cambridge city trip, so close to park & ride too. Price is definitely budget friendly and acceptable if marks on the wall will be sorted. M&S nearby sorted dinner problem but choice limited.

Atmosphere in rooms is depressing - marks on the walls, shower facilities dated and worn, level in cleaning questionable (everything looks clean till you touch it). When we checked in the 2 ladies on reception weren't professional "felt they scanned us from toes to head and back" and then had a chat between themselves. While 2 guys in the morning were very professional and friendly, greeted us with a smile and left positive vibe.

Room was quiet, despite being part of a motorway service station. Receptionist was extremely helpful, finding me a sewing kit when I needed one and sorting out an issue with the TV. It is located adjacent to the service station so right next door is plenty of choice of hot food if required along with a Smiths and M&S Food Hall. I stayed there whilst attending a two day course nearby, so was a perfect location for me at a reasonable price, but would also be handy for visiting Cambridge.

Everything was fine

My friend and I needed a hotel that was close to an event, and we weren't spending much time at the hotel. This location was perfect for us, and where we needed to be over the weekend. The hotel staff were efficient, friendly and helpful. I asked for an additional duvet and extra towel, and they were so fast with helping. The room was comfortable, standard hotel room. We booked a twin bed room. It is next to a roadside services, which was good for us the next morning to grab coffee/breakfast and then drive to the next event.

The hotel was functional and perfectly located for where we were attending an event. It was a good room for us, warm and clean. It might not be what everyone is looking for when doing a Cambridge city visit.

Reception staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and tidy with all we needed for an overnight stay. We do stay in hotels such as Travelodge and Premier Inn and we didnt find the bed at The Remada quite as comfortable.

The bed could have been more comfortable as it was possible to feel the springs in the bed in the room we were in.

Stayed in room 102, sadly it was next to the kitchen so the constant 'hum' of the industrial fridges kept my wife awake all night. Staff tried to be helpful in moving the fridges but it was still noisy. Had an evening meal which was served with a cheer, it was tasty and reasonably priced. Coffee was Starbucks and good quality and a range of light snacks were available. Check and in and Check out was easy and the staff very pleasant and helpful.

Owing to new roads in the locality many guests had problems with Sat navs, so please double check your route before arriving. Restaurant was in the reception area which wasn't ideal.

Everything..

The chef was appalling, no communication at all between the manager and chef. He couldn't speak english and the manager that night was leaving the following Thursday apparently, so you can imagine the indifferent attitude. We just sat there waiting for our food to arrive. When it did eventually arrive after asking 'where is our food' it was cold in the middle..i.e. uncooked and inedible. We were later reimbursed for our experience.

Sara was exceptional, absolutely outstanding service, she really cared about my stay and really looked after me. the £25 meal deal was good value for money.

sadly I was awoken at 3am by a member of staff entering my room after knocking on my door, when I shouted she said, sorry wrong room. not her fault, but quite unusual
