It was a great location, food was fantastic. We had evening meals and breakfast there. The ladies that served breakfast were fantastic, a real credit to the pike and eel.

The room was OK, but could have done with a better clean. There was a few marks on the carpet, round the sink in the bathroom wasn't really clean. The bathroom could have done with finishing off, at the back of the toilet there was a piece of wood that could have done with painting. There was a cover to hide the pipes that was on the floor when we arrived, that could have done with been glued on. The tiles on the floor could have done with grouting properly, it was mostly grey with patches of white grout.

The setting is nice, quiet and off the beaten track .There are walks along the river or close to the river Ouse in two directions and not really far to drive to St Ives for an interesting visit. Perhaps they should have a map in reception as staff could not quite give us direction on where walks were really. Simple map would surfice as there is also a nice board outside where the walk starts up the road where you enter the property, telling the history, and options to walk.

Think , as with all establishments , cleaners should be trained to look up and not just down. Many places we visit and not isolating The Pike and EEL , there always seem to be cobwebs near the ceilings etc which with one extension of the arm and vacumm, could be gone . Would have liked a slightly more affordable breakfast being on offer as a little pricey compared to other estblishments in nearby town, St Ives. Would have happilly ate ate the Pike if it was less than £10 per person - Suggest £8 hits the gap...

Location and view were fabulous, slightly off the main road down to the marina and river. Many river boats to watch whilst enjoying a drink on the expansive lawned Gardens. The price was good. The room was comfortable with reasonable amenities. Our room felt spacious. Nice bed linen and comfy beds. An electric fan was provided for our comfort. Tea, coffee, and biscuits. Quiet.

We were told that there was no dinner service after 8 pm. Our room needed a little more dusting. One set of window blinds had fallen off the hanging rail, which we had to rehang. The front door had a split in it. The bedside lamps didn't work. Mozzies. Lots of them.

Amazing location alongside a beautiful marina. Plenty of free parking. We stayed in one of the cute little chalets outside the main building. It was clean, compact with comfy beds and had everything we needed for a short stay. Happy with the price we paid, we felt the room was value for money. The chalets are dog friendly which is good; we'd left our pooch at home but had several well behaved doggy neighbours. It's a great area to explore with a dog. Sadly the weather was wet and windy when we visited so we only had a quick walk around the marina but we'll definitely visit again if we return to the area. Quick and efficient check-in, we were shown to our chalet by a nice young man who explained everything we needed to know. All the staff we met were very pleasant, polite and helpful. We had an early start so missed breakfast but we ate dinner in the restaurant. We thought the menu was quite limited in comparison to the places we eat in at home but the food was tasty, well cooked and well presented. Food and drinks prices were average for country pubs in that area.

A bit of a contradiction as I love the fact the chalets are dog friendly - I didn't like the vinyl flooring in the bedroom area. I totally understand the need for it with muddy dog paws but it was cold and hard walking about in bare feet. I'll bring my slippers next time!

The location is superb, right by the river, with some bedrooms in the main building and some chalets across the car park. The food was excellent although mealtimes were limited and perhaps a little expensive. Rooms were good and very comfortable. The hotel looks to be going through an ongoing program of maintenance and upgrade, which was good to see and didn’t cause ant problems at all.

The meal times were a little limited - breakfast 7.00 - 9.00am and dinner 6.00 - 8.00pm, another hour on each would have made for a more relaxing stay.

The location was beautiful, very peaceful right on the river Ouse. A nice spacious property, with a charming cosy bar/reception/restaurant area. Our chalet separate from the main property was right next to the river, it was comfortable, cosy, clean and functional. It had everything you needed for an overnight stay, including tea/coffee making facilities with biscuits. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant (main building); the food was exceptional, delicious gastro pub food, the service was excellent and the staff were extremely accommodating and pleasant. The restaurant had large windows over looking the river, a stunning setting with beautiful views. There was also a riverside walk accessible right from the property, a nice flat route running parallel to the river, surrounded by natural beauty and wildlife.

Tranquil and picturesque location, a delightful spot in Cambridgeshire. The grounds were extensive and there were ample parking spaces. It was delightful to have breakfast overlooking the Great River Ouse and go for walks along the Great River Ouse. The room was satisfactory, the bed was comfortable and we managed to have a good nights sleep.

The ensuite door could not be closed but this was outweighed by the beauty of the location, comfortable beds and the large TV screen.

Amazing location , peaceful , tranquil, lovely chalet away from the main building

Everything great ( .. this isn’t a negative just a comment ) just when we arrived we couldn’t see how to check in at 9.30pm as main building was closed and in darkness … eventually found a notice with night porter number on .. and he came straight away .. maybe they can send a message via booking.com if the number to ring when closed even tho I did message saying we would be late

We stayed in one of the chalets as we had our two dogs with us. The room was spacious and clean, so was the bathroom. The bar area is lovely and comfortable, very dog friendly! The food vas good, with an interesting menu. Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful. From the bar staff to the cleaning team, you could tell they took pride in their work. They made us and our dogs very welcome. Location: outstanding.

The location was amazing the view of the river was beautiful. Friendly staff who were very welcoming.😁

Unfortunately the outside light came on during the day and not at night when it was needed as the chalet area is very dark. Also some picnic tables like in the other area would be nice outside the chalets to have breakfast It was ashame that the outside facilities were not open to be used i e the pizza shack. Alot of beautiful areas that could be used to make the hotel more appealing. Having said that our stay was fantastic. I would definitely stay at the pike and Eel again and hopefully see the use of the other facilities.
