Mount Pleasant Hotel

Location was a given as I knew Great Malvern. All staff were very personable and generally efficient. Food of a good standard and Covid precautions excellent. The room had recently been decorated and new furniture installed.

Our room (No15) suffered from a musty/drain smell, most noticeable when left empty despite leaving the window open. This was reported during our stay and my subsequent research reveals that other guests have reported similar issues in the recent past. The hotel tell me that it will be investigated. The en suite needs attention to detail or preferably a refit, possibly as part of resolving the smell issue. Paint/silicon sealant and boxing of pipes is poor.

The location of this hotel is an outstanding feature. It is right at the foot if the Malvern Hills and the views from my window over the town were just stunning. The room was beautiful. Really comfy bed, lovely desk, places to sit and read and absolutely spotless. The bathroom was well-equipped. Lovely shower and everything sparkling clean. The breakfast was lovely and although porridge was not on the menu the chef made some forme on request and it was great! Also used the conference room which was light and airy and plenty of space with reliable audiovisual equipment and plenty of refreshments provided.

Great location with great views. On the edge of the town with only a few steps to the centre. The hotel was perfect for our 1 night stay. We took the opportunity to book an early check in so we had plenty of time to look round the town. The hotel itself was clean and tidy but was undergoing building work in the car park. This was not an issue for us. Our room was overlooking the car park but had a great view of a park area just the other side of the parking area. The room was a very good size with great facilities. Our only regret was the we were only there for 1 night. We didn’t have an evening meal in the restaurant but did have breakfast, which was great. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend.

Just to note that the front door to the hotel was directly under our room (10) and did slam shut a number of times. Not sure of the time but maybe putting a soft close mechanism would help reduce the noise.

Lovely room and helpful staff. Delicious food in the restaurant and great breakfast. I'd somehow made an error with the booking and only booked one person to stay even though we were two, so had to pay the difference, but it wasn't much and the receptionist was very apologetic. We were given an upgrade due to an earlier cancellation which softened the blow a bit!

Swelteringly hot room (I understand not much could be done about that) but would have been good if we could have opened the top of the sash windows as well as the bottom, to help with air flow. The pipes in the bathroom were a bit smelly.

The location is perfect for exploring Great Malvern and the surrounding area. Reception staff were consistently welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a great en suite shower room. We were on the sunny side of the hotel, which was quite warm but there was a very efficient and quiet fan provided, for which we were grateful. There was free parking. We ate in the Mulberry Tree restaurant in the evening where the service was also very good and the food great.

A few more options for breakfast for those who don't want a full English would be good.

Hotel has undergone a very nice refurbishment since I last stayed. Staff helpful and friendly. The breakfast was superb. Heavenly smells from the restaurant at night but unfortunately I was eating elsewhere. I asked for a quiet room and got one. Refreshingly, it has the feel of a small, non chain hotel which I loved. I would book again for sure.

There are a lot of steps but no lift. There were steep, narrow steps in my room leading up to the bed. I found them difficult. Some guests might have more difficulty. However, I loved the room otherwise and I understand that this room is to be reorganised with easier steps and a sitting room rather than the kitchenette. Perhaps the hotel might say in advance that there is no lift and some/one room has internal streps. If they did, I missed it. I would still book again. I managed to park at the hotel but they do not allow reserved parking and there are a few more rooms than parking spaces.

Hotel was beautiful. Situated at the bottom of the Malvern hills. We arrived early and parked up (entered our reg at the reception) and happily spent a few hours in the hills. The room was spacious and looked out over the church and town which are beautiful. Staff were all very friendly and happy to help. The restaurant staff were lovely and the food was excellent. Hubby is a meat lover and I'm a vegetarian and we were both happy. Breakfast was good as well with an easy check out.

Nothing I thought the price was a good reflection of the amenities and it couldn't have been better positioned for the walks.

We got a lovely room overlooking the Priory (she dawn photo) and it was quite despite being above the roadway. The hotel is excellently placed both for the town and the route up onto the Malvern Hills. Breakfast excellent. Bed superb.

In this instance is was hard to fault anything. As is common in many hotels the bedside lights gave poor light for reading. The sink in the bathroom drained tad slowly. The trap, I guess, could do with a clean out.

Enjoyed the cooked breakfast. We were well looked after by Ben who served our breakfast. Lovely view of the nearby park.

The only problem was that room 8 was not exactly on ground level as there were steps for my wife to climb who uses a walker. Also she has to use stairs to get to the restaurant. Otherwise exit hotel entrance to car park then walk down by the road and enter the restaurant at the front. Really the hotel not suitably accessible for disabled guests.

Comfortable room, comfortable bed. was offered free upgrade with view over church and town. Wonderful food in restaurant with cosy fire. Great breakfast included. Staff wonderful.

The room was overheated, sadly noise from the Royal Mail delivery van and other noise from the road at night exacerbated by having to have the window open as room was so hot. Bath could do with a hand held shower attachment to facilitate hair washing in the morning. it only had an overhead and shower panel made access to this difficult without having a full shower.
