Staybridge Suites London Heathrow - Bath Road, an IHG Aparthotel

If you need to stay near Heathrow airport, this is an excellent property. It is clean, modern and the breakfast was quite nice!

Upon arrival, the reception staff came across as very rude as they didn't actively listen to what I said about my early arrival. I was not expecting to have a room ready and didn't ask for one, I was simply presenting myself to let them know I was there for whenever my room would be ready. This is fairly normal at other hotels, you do the paperwork and they let you know when your room is available. Instead, I was met with a bad attitude and had the person speak over the top of me. This is a minor issue but coming straight off a long haul flight, this can be really upsetting. This was only on the one occasion and I found the other staff to be very friendly.

Staybridge is a fantastic hotel with clean & modern facilities. Opposite Heathrow (a lot of the other guests - as well as flight crew - were jetting home so an ideal spot for them). We chose it for it's great location on the outskirts of London with easy onward routes: we went to Hampton Court Palace & to a Depeche Mode concert at Twickenham. Helpful, friendly staff. Good parking facilities. Suites were spacious, clean & well presented with separate living & dining accommodation. The compact, cleverly designed kitchen areas included a quality dishwasher, hob, fridge & extractor, & came equipped with good crockery, cutlery, glassware, cooking utensils etc. Room service was available (we didn't try it though the menu read well). Large well-lit bathrooms & complimentary toiletries, shampoo, conditioner etc. all in generous quantities. We made use of the small laptop safe, & there was a thoughtful addition of an ironing board & iron (laundry facilities are available for guests) - but we didn't have the need to use them. Hotel had some lovely relaxing guest areas on the ground floor with a choice of huge comfy sofas & huge TV's to match, a Library area, with complimentary hot drinks, plus a "Pantry" stocking toiletries, tinned foods, snacks etc. The buffet-style breakfast was superb & the restaurant hours were generous & offered great flexibility for guests. Staff were courteous & non-obtrusive, helpful & friendly - nothing was too much trouble. There was a gym (we didn't use it so can't comment on that). We loved it there & can't wait to go again.

We'd asked for views of the runway (the hotel is opposite Heathrow) which are enjoyed by the rooms on the higher floors, but our rooms had a very limited snapshot of the planes on the 3rd Floor (hotel has 5 levels). It was a shame, but we weren't promised it, just that they'd note our request. The only other criticism I can come up with was the rooms could have done with a few more mirrors. There was a full-length mirror in the lounge area & a large mirror over the bathroom basin - I would have welcomed one at face-height near the window (for putting on makeup in natural light), but it certainly didn't spoil our trip or put us off returning.

Lovely big rooms with everything you need. Comfy beds with top quality linen. My second stay and will always be my airport hotel of choice.

Only negative for me was no shuttle service to Terminal 4.

The rooms were a very good size with a kitchenette that was well equipped. The washroom was equally roomy and all was very clean. If only there was an easier way to get from T5 to hotel without booking a driver I would say this was the best hotel stay I’ve had in London and great if one only requires an overnight for a flight from Heathrow. I did get a driver from We Know and they were excellent but it was a bit pricey to only go a couple of kilometres

Would Like Easier access from Heathrow for those travelling solo.

We liked the included breakfast, the size and arrangement of the room, that allowed for privacy in the bedroom, the size of the bathroom, the comfort of the bed and pillows, the number of charge portals in the room, the closeness to the airport and availability of the hotel hopper shuttle, the facilities of the Holiday Inn next door, e.g dining and bar, and the fact that we were allowed early checkin and late checkout. Also, the pantry kitchen was good. What a great place to stay!

Although a little expensive the facility provided so much. Comprehensive breakfast including plenty for healthy vegetarians (even Soy milk) - 24hr free teas and coffees in lounge/dining area (which was spacious and comfortable) - free laundry facilities - a gym - dishwasher in room - daily week day housekeeping if required - and a very comfortable bed. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Windows definitely sound proof as couldn't hear planes across the road at all. We enjoyed our four nights there.

Hot water in kitchen and bathroom basin took a long time to come through so water wasted.

WOW, what a great find. The room was large and well equipped, clean and comfortable. The bathroom/shower was terrific, the bed was comfortable, the wifi worked great and THE Breakfast was unbeatable! Even made up a little sandwich to have in the airport for later and it worked out great!

The free Hoppa Bus never showed so in BOTH directions we had to pay for a taxi (about L15 each way). NOT the hotel's fault of course but one of the reasons we chose this hotel.

No shops close by, difficult getting groceries for long stay. Transportation to town was not easy

The room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The staff was very friendly & helpful. The housekeeping staff was very accommodating when in need of dishwasher tablets, toilet paper or bin liners. The continental breakfast was brilliant with a wide range of hot & cold food to choose from. We like the fact that we could wash our clothes while staying there. This is the best place I've stayed in, with the best view ever (airport/runway) and I definitely stay there again. This place is highly recommend and gets 5+ stars from us.

There's nothing I can think of that was negative.

Breakfast was good. The bartender that served me a light meal in the evening at the sister hotel next door was great. The staff at the front desk was great. The room was clean.

I was a little disappointed that the breakfast didn't start until 7:00am. I should have known better but the shuttle to the hotel is public transportation. It was very crowded and stopped at several hotels on the way to the airport. In the future I will take a cab.
