I have stayed in many hotels and guest houses both in the UK and overseas. This one is truly unique, from the interior decor to the stunning gardens with the added bonus of the best full English breakfast I have ever eaten and the most exquisitely prepared fresh fruit salad (with the addition of a beautiful flower as an unexpected aesthetically pleasing bonus). The hosts, Mike and Susie Skinner, go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome and the mixture of ancient farmhouse with premier fixtures, fitting and food make this the perfect getaway.

Absolutely nothing to complain about. It was an outstanding stay on every level. I am fortunate to have my own car, but the hosts did mention that it can sometimes be difficult to get a taxi in this rural location, particularly during the busy summer season.

Excellent cooked breakfast and very helpful owners of the cottage. Out of the way down a long lane from all the traffic noise.

IN the separate bathroom with maroon fittings there was very little cold water coming out of the tap and shower. Might be possible as the water softener had stopped running. This caused only very hot water to come out of the shower which would scold any child walking in there. Did not take a shower due to the crazy temp as there was very little cold water to mix and bring the temp down. From years of experience had learned to always check before ever walking into a shower when turned on.

What a unique experience of a property and stay, bursting with character and unexpected hidden gems all over this place. Learnt loads about its history and was very impressed with my whole experience. The grounds are super impressive and while some may disapprove of the volume of quirky brick-a-brac all around the property I found it a joy for my senses and imagination and really enjoyed the tales behind them. hats of to them for keeping it as clean as it is. Mike and Susie are a pleasure to have met and would love to visit again soon. FYI breakfast was the best I’ve had in a stay anywhere!

Personally I didn’t find fault with the place cheeky floors and low ceiling to watch you head on but being over 700 years old commands an undoubtable respect regardless, it was a perfect stay.

The proprietors are very friendly and fascinating; you should definitely talk with them. As for your stay, every detail is well considered. If you ask for a fruit salad breakfast you know it's been carefully prepared, not out of a tin, and their cooked breakfast is a work of art. I couldn't recommend this highly enough and will definitely be staying again.

This place has no negatives. If you have an event in Brighton it's a 20 minute walk to Hassocks Station and a 10 minute train journey

It was an amazing stay - a very lovely homely place, Susie and Mike were beyond kind and thoughtful and helpful, especially given it was Christmas. In particular, they were very accommodating and went above and beyond to help my father in tricky circumstances, thank you so so much Susie and Mike

The lights in the bedroom were a tiny bit confusing, possibly could do with a bannister from the bedroom to the bathroom. But these are minor points and only really apply to people that can’t follow instructions (Susie did tell me all about the lights when we arrived) or have impaired mobility and possibly need a handrail

The garden and view. The breakfast room. The hosts made it a very relaxed stay.

The bathroom facilities in the Sunflower room were quite old and noisey. From the website pictures I thought we would be staying in the farmhouse. The bedroom ceiling lights flickered so we had to turn them off. The coffee granules were old i.e. stuck together

Becoming regular here; it's in a quiet location ideal for an evening walk over the fields and the single room was quite pleasant temperature-wise even though it had been an extremely warm day. Breakfast in the 'summer room' was very enjoyable; I could very easily have accepted the offer of more coffee... but the working day beckoned!

Wonderful place hosted by wonderful people - Mike and Susie - so welcoming to their totally magic B&B - if you like excentric - this is the place for you - brilliantly done. This place made a great weekend as perfect as it gets.

Nothing to report. No downside. Totally wonderful place run by wonderful people.

The hostess and host were delightful. Sadly we had travelled to attend a funeral of a friend in Brighton. When the hostess knew of this she was both sympathetic and opened her home to us in that we did not have to vacate the room or house whilst "hanging around " on the day of the funeral. The breakfast was served in a relaxing garden room and the food served was top notch. Our room was a four poster bed room and the whole house was quirkily but atmospherically decorated with oak beams and tasteful furnishings. Before arrival the hosts did everything they could to make us feel welcome and to check out our requirements,

Just a slight improvement would be a more powerful shower. Make sure you know where the farm house before travelling as it is off the beaten track.

Everything was carried out with great care and attention. Extra touches to make you feel very welcome such as the Swedish flag raised in honour of my husband and his friends. Tasty breakfasts to meet all requirements and friendly advice for local activities.
