Tottington Manor Hotel

A GEM OF A HOTEL - Tottington Manor Hotel is located at the foot of the rolling hills of the South Downs overlooking fields full of a perfect English scene - almost like a film set. You arrive to a large car park and we’ll kept gardens and outside terraces. Marco at reception was great and showed us our fantastic room which was well equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The staff clearly dedicated to their task ensuring the hotel is prepared to the very highest standards. Phil (the manager or might have been the owner) was one of the best hotel managers I have met - friendly, natural and professional to the tee. We ate in the restaurant and was impressed with the quality of the food, the choice and the friendly and efficient bar staff and waiters. During the night and morning there was perfect peace and quiet - with bird song that greeted us as we woke. The next morning we had breakfast - the full English was one of the best I’ve had so I cannot praise it anymore. Phil was there again and move about meeting n greeting the guests with natural flair and humour. We came with an Electric Vehicle which needed charging. Phil and Marco could not have been more helpful. After my extension cable failed We eventually sorted a way to get it done and like I say - Phil was able to bend over backwards to help. oh - and they didn’t even want to charge me for the power. If you are travelling this way then I cannot recommend this place anymore highly. We will be back. Thanks Phil, Marco and all your amazing staff. You are one of the best.

EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT.

The staff and the food were truly exceptional. Breakfast was delicious - one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had. Dinner was equally delicious. Dietaries were very well catered for - lots of gluten free options. Service was quick, attentive and super friendly. The surrounding scenery is beautiful. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

The location, although beautiful, is quite remote. If like us you dont have a car then youre quite isolated! We were only there for 1 night which was perfect - we had a delicious meal and a long walk in the countryside. But beyond that, there’s not much else to do! The room was also quite small.

Asthetically romantic theme. The team great in every aspect. Food incredible. Very comfortable bed. Surroundings beautiful.

No bottled water / supply of milk in room. View not too great from this room (Kitchens etc) No Wall mirror but the bathroom one isnt fixed so useable. On checking out we were intially ignored as the flower supplier and the team member were in conversation looking at display examples on the mobile. Supplier we feel should have appolgise and stalled until we had been checked out. We were not acknowledged at all so we had to intrude and ask to check out. The flower supplier clearly wasnt a happy bunny.

Beautiful setting and charming character . Clean, tidy, tastefully decorated . Bed very comfortable. Nice toiletries. Good coffee . Black out curtains helped! Very kind and friendly staff. Breakfast and dinner was very nice.

The room we had was above the longe/bar and noisy in the afternoon-tea time. The room is also adjacent to other rooms and we could hear coughing and sneezing during the whole night. If possible, book a room away from the above bar/restaurant area. The beds are short for taller visitors!

well everything , we would definitely go again wonderful location for peace and quiet and allow dogs . quality food and drinks , with nothing being too much trouble from the staff ! we arrived late because of traffic and had missed the cut off time for food ! but they were fantastic and rustled us up something tasty , everything hit the spot with very comfy bed we slept very well

Not having more time to stay longer

This was a fantastic find: nestled in the South Downs in a beautiful spot, surrounded by rolling hills and farm animals in the fields. The restaurant was great (especially the cooked breakfast), there was a lovely south facing sunny garden, and it was very quiet at night and easy to sleep. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, thank you! Ps. Also dog friendly!

I was in a single room was was very very small; however it was comfortable and quiet.

Bed is too short. I did not fit in and I am not even that tall (1.85m). Breakfast process somewhat unclear as to what is charged at extra cost or not. The a la carte choice is probably a nice option for tourists but as business traveller I do not have time for that. And the buffet choice was very limited.

Room was ok, decoratively good but very little space when getting in or out of the bed. Had I been a larger person may well of have some difficulty. Bathroom shower had an air lock and the insert for the hot tap was missing as well as the lever cover to switch from the bath to the shower was broken

Really lovely location with great helpful and friendly staff, really welcoming when we came in late at night and helping us to our rooms great service from the team serving the next morning and through out the day. The views of the hills surrounding it was strunning

Taxi service….. I called over 30 taxis 14 hours before I needed one to get a taxi and was told you need to book 7-14 days in advance. The taxi I did finally get there cost me £50 for a 8.9 mile journey. Even worse the next day we were stranded at the hotel as no Ubers would connect to us, the staff called all of the taxi services on their list and none would come to us so I ended up having to wait three hours for my dad to pick me up and drive me to where my car was at from the night before .

We had an evening meal (4 persons) at the hotel. The choice was good, quality of the food excellent and service also excellent. Breakfast was a similar experience with a freshly cooked breakfast and a good choice of food. Since our last visit the hotel has improved and is now nicely decorated with additional facilities available.

Not sure why the bedroom radiator was on full blast when July temperatures are quite warm.
