The bed was really comfortable and high quality bedding and towels. All staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Room was very clean.

The room felt very basic and student accommodation like for the price, especially as was sold/ advertised as a superior/ large room. Not enough storage space for clothes, only small hanging space, no drawers for non hanging clothes had to live out of case for 3 days. Shower cubicle leaked so bathroom floor was soaked and we had to use ALL our towels to soak it up. Although the staff replaced our towels without a fuss, they admitted they knew it leaked! Didn't expect that for an over £200 a night room, needed a shower after mopping floor! Also bed frame was rather noisy, even though mattress was comfortable and great bedding.

The room was very tastefully decorated, with nice little touches like Cowshed products, a coffee pod machine and digital radio that you can connect your smartphone to play your own tunes. The mini bar was well stocked and included a selection of glasses. The fridge also had a bottle of fresh milk! A nice surprise was finding air conditioning in the room, not always a given in the UK. We had a drink in the bar and had dinner in the restaurant. The food was really excellent, the drinks were good too. All the staff were really lovely and helped make it a pleasant stay.

Its a lovely, but old property. We were up the top and a couple of floorboards were squeaky so it might have annoyed people below. Also the windows let some noise in and the road was relatively busy. That said, there were ear buds in the bathroom, so they're obviously aware of this.

We honestly couldn’t fault, loved everything from the cleanliness & decor, to the location, & especially the staff’s welcoming, helpful & accommodating manner. The food was exceptional & delicious, we will definitely be staying here again! The staff’s enjoyable & informative conversations made our stay too, with history of the premises, knowledge of wines & the food, & their other personal interests, very social, great recruitment in our opinion & highly trained. There was only high mirrors, but after our mentioning of this, full length ones had been ordered straight away!

The room was gorgeous - really beautifully decorated and laid out, with lots of space to hang coats/clothes and store luggage. The bed was really comfortable (though my partner found it a bit on the hard side), with super soft bedding and great pillows. The bathroom was beautiful and well-lit, with a spacious shower and luxury toiletries. Great complimentary Nespresso, tea, and biscuits. The staff were really accommodating and friendly - they showed us to our room, talked us through everything, and were very welcoming on arrival and departure. Would definitely stay again!

The location could have been a bit better as it faces out onto a block of flats and is a bit of a walk from the centre of brighton. This was fine as we knew this when we booked, but just one thing that could elevate the experience even further. The corridors were also VERY narrow upstairs and the floor was uneven but without markings where there was a bit of a ramp in the floor, so could see this being tricky to navigate for people with accessibility difficulties, or after a night out! Didn't negatively affect our stay, just something to be aware of.

I never leave reviews but really have to on this occasion. I cannot recommend this guesthouse more. firstly it’s the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Spotless and well presented, just how a hotel should be handed over to you. The staff were so hospitable. I was leant a charger from a staff member and made to feel at home for my stay. I had a drink in the bar downstairs a wonderful cocktail again made by lovely staff. I didn’t try the food as I was only staying for one night but I’m sure it is divine. I will be back to try! parking is ok the next street which is hard to find in Brighton and hove. Its only £7 for 24hours and is free overnight.

Nothing to dislike

If I could rate this place any higher I really would, the room, the service, and the staff are absolutely lovely. The room was so beautiful - we had a huge bath in our room which was extra special! The staff were extremely attentive, carried my luggage, and made us feel extra special. It was my partner’s birthday, so they went the extra mile and left a birthday card for him in the room from the team on his arrival. The bar staff in the bar/restaurant are also amazing if you’re staying for drinks, super swanky. We were made to feel so at home we didn’t want to leave! Can’t wait to come back, would recommend to anybody. Thank you xxxxx

Wonderful and stylish room. This was a very late booking and staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming allowing us to check in early and providing information regarding the best parking locally. Room itself was perfect - immacuately clean, and beautifully decorated and the bed was amazingly comfortable - had the most wonderful night's sleep! A great range of toileteries were provided and everything was thought of - cotton wool, bath robes, shower caps, books to read....with complimentary coffee and bottled water. Really liked that although the rooms were above a restaraunt/pub they were accessed through a separate entrance and a keycard and so had freedom to come and go as needed, with complete independance...and despite being located above a restaraunt and bar, it was remarkably quiet and felt completely safe and secure. Location was perfect....a few mins walk into Hove and just a leisurely walk along the seafront into Brighton

Bed was really comfortable and loved the room decor. Very clean. Bathroom was lovely and nice products to use - love Cowshed! The beach towels and bag was a nice touch. Had everything we needed (refreshments, ironing board, hairdryer, bathroom products). Would definitely return!

We did book a small room so knew what to expect and the size was fine but because the ceiling sloped and my husband is tall, it did make the room feel smaller as you had to duck quite alot to use one side of the room (which included kettle, etc). and the window was quite small and behind the slope so you lost some natural light. However, it didn't affect our enjoyment of the room too much, we'd just probably book a bigger room next time.

Amazing place! Worth the money, spotlessly clean, really comfortable and lovely decor. Nice touch with the small bottle of fresh milk in the fridge for tea/coffee. Cowshed products in bathroom. Can't fault the place, absolute quality. It's pricier than other places in the area but far nicer so worth that bit extra money. Felt really safe too due to access card system. It is on afairly busy road but they provide ear plugs (on little tray on bathroom ledge) should you need them - thankfully I didn't.

Poached eggs at breakfast (not included in price of room) weren't runny, which is always disappointing but hey, it was still a really nice breakfast.

The room is a good size with air conditioning which made our stay feel bright and breezy on an otherwise very hot day/evening in Hove. The bed is super comfy. There's fresh milk provided in the room's minibar (much appreciated!). And bathrobes too for that little extra touch of comfort. Every member of staff we met (whether front or back of house) was incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming...you can't put a price on that! That's the 'people factor', it can and did make all the difference and The Ginger Pig has it in spades! Oh and it's suuuuper close to the seafront with use of beach towels and bag provided for guests - perfect eh? And the food is exceptional - I'd definitely recommend booking a table for both breakfast (shakshuka is epic) and lunch or dinner.
