Lovely decor and very clean. Very friendly staff. We had a wedding to go to early the next day and staff were so accommodating with giving us our breakfast earlier than usual. We couldn’t thank them enough! Fab customer service. It really makes all the difference. English breakfast was massive! Thank you so much for making our stay so great!

Be careful if you re over 6ft as you’ll have to duck your head in the shower in this room. It’s an old building so obviously this affects the height in some areas. You have to duck your head to get into the stairway. Still a lovely hotel though. Would go again. Would maybe try the king size room.

Courteous staff, chilled out and friendly pub vibe. Smashing full English breakfast prepared lovingly by Pete. There's also a few dedicated parking spaces for guests just at the side of the pub. Parking also available on the road. Nice and close to the A 23. Would stay again :-)

Might have been nice to have a bit more soap and shampoo choice in the room. Also, when I use my shower, had a visit from the staff as it seems to be leaking. Was a bit nervous about having another one in the morning. On the whole, the room was comfortable and cosy. The coffee and tea-making facilities were Brill.

Set in a lovely village, Warm welcome from barman James, food was excellent and plentiful , breakfast kept us full all day. Accommodation was chic and clean and close to get into Brighton. The fan in the room was very welcome.

Only constructive criticism, There was no milk for the room, for tea and coffee on mentioning this, we were advised to ask staff for a jug of milk, however this would not of stayed cool in the room, might be better to have little pots of long life milk ...also times for breakfast 9-10 , may be a little late for people wanting to get on the road.

We were 2 couples staying at the Horse Inn Hurst as attending a wedding nearby. Location was perfect. Staff (sorry I didn't get names) went the extra mile, organised taxis, checked on us as had not arrived at arranged time and rearranged taxis. Returned for a nightcap, was a super pub to relax with a drink. Rooms were superb with all we needed and breakfast was fabulous.

There was nothing not to like.

The tapas portions were very generous and delicious, it's a lovely relaxed pub and they had some very very nice wine! The room was spotless and we loved all the decor and touches. Very friendly attentive service from everybody. You feel very at home there.

The breakfast was lovely, but I had avocados and egg on toast and the avocado was very cold! Be better to serve at room temperature. Can't fault anything else though. Great coffee. We had no trouble parking overnight in the street behind. They didn't have dairy free milk but luckily I had brought my own.

Traditional village pub on road through a popular Sussex village. Very friendly welcome, check in and shown up to our room. Had a meal in the bar served promptly, and good value. Nice local ale available too. Only four rooms at this pub, and ours looked out over the road which became quite noisy once the daily commute started. A very good breakfast, probably the biggest full English we've been offered anywhere!

Room was quite small, our only issue was the road, but not a great problem except the morning we were there, the local refuse cart picked up very early, and noisily! Not the pub's fault!

The breakfast was very good indeed. The problem was that service only started at 09.00 and the breakfast was slow to emerge. The rom was small but well equipped and the shower room was a good size and well equipped.

See above, the late breakfast was not a problem for us, but anybody for whom it would be should sort out an earlier service with the Inn.

Great welcome, staff often very helpful. Room decor tasteful. Despite being at the front, not disturbed by traffic. Overall quiet and spacious room. Parking available.

The curtain between the bathroom and bedroom is too narrow and not only allowed light through in the morning but not effective as a buffer between toilet and bedroom leading to little or no privacy when using toilet. A blind or cover on bathroom window would help tackle light problem in mornings. Poor lighting from bedside lamp on far bedside table despite asking for a brighter bulb.

Wonderful little boutique pub with rooms. Rooms very well furnished and finished, exceptionally clean. Not large, but thats part of the charm. Pub very accomodating to our unusual arrival and departure times. Lovely lunch in the main bar.

Limited on site parking. On street parking fine.
