Sonata Guest House

Our stay was a last minute arrangement due to the rail strikes. Inoka couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful. Everything has been thought about, including water bottles, fan, all the toiletries you could need including courtesy packs of anything you might have forgotten. Breakfast was excellent- fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurts juices as well as a choice of cooked breakfasts. Fresh fruit made available during the day and plates/cutlery left out in case you wanted to order a takeaway. However the guest house is conveniently located for the town centre and several eateries. Thoroughly recommend and good value for money.

Nothing really!

Lovely B&B close to the town centre. I thought the room was a good size as was the bathroom which was well lit and with a spacious shower. Lots of free extras in terms of toiletries, tea/coffee, and bottled water. Inoka is a very kind and welcoming host and she makes a fantastic breakfast too. Plenty of choice including a full English breakfast, all of which is really good quality. Slept very well there and would happily stay again in future!

I honestly can’t think of anything. It’s just really great value for the price.

Breakfast was excellent, couldn't have been better. In the room, they provided not only expected towels, wash lotions and Tea/ Coffee facilities but also, robes and every imaginable personnal item such as spare toothpaste/brush, that one may have forgotten. Everything was also very clean. We would highly recommend the Sonata.

The room was a bit on the small side but adequate. However, the size of the en-suite and other things, including the friendliness of the owners, made this pale into insignificance.

The host was amazing, lovely welcome,lovely and clean,and all the little extra touches, bath robes,slippers etc. Room was spotless, water, and sparkling water in the room. Breakfast was fantastic, what a choice...Will definitely be going again.

Nothing at all...And that is our honest opinion. The lady of the house was a credit to her hotel. We have stayed all over the country, and that has to be the best hotel,we have stayed in. All the little touches, and little extras at breakfast, absolutely fantastic.

A beautiful light room. The breakfast was top class, and nothing was too much trouble. My tea was obviously top quality and my poached eggs cooked to perfection. Room was immaculately clean and a huge shower, there were lots of free toiletries. Bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get up and the linen top quality. TV was great with lots of extra channels to watch... Oh and fresh bottled sparkling and still water available every day.

Nothing really... Everything was perfect.

Perfectly appointed for a short stay, lots of luxurious little extras, a super comfortable bed, great shower, and everything was spotless. The host let me know she was available for anything else I needed, and was very accommodating when I let her know late at night that I would no longer require a breakfast (which I'm sure would have been lovely, I just had plans changed at the last minute).

There's nothing to dislike!

Excellent with such variety of everything, juices, fresh fruit, cereals, & a full breakfast, I had read previous reviews & thought, a bit over the top Maybe, But no, it lived up to its rating, The room booklet was excellent in detail, with places to see, wifi passwords & every thing you would have liked to ask.

Parking while it was accepted as the norm, I was issued with a street permit & directed to safe parking location,

Very clean and comfortable room, amazing attention to detail including great reading lights and lovely smelling hand wash etc. Breakfast was delicious, the fresh fruit in particular was outstanding.

This Bed and Breakfast seems to do everything well. Friendly owner, spotlessly clean room, quality fittings, good breakfast, useful and up to date literature about the area. Short walk to restaurants in town centre.

On street parking was down the road (parking permit provided), so maybe not so convenient for all guests.

Sonata was clean and comfortable with all amenities first class. Excellent bed and shower. The host was welcoming and breakfast was excellent and served promptly.

Steep narrow stairs to small room on second floor. We were advised of this and were lucky to be able to book one night stopover.
