Great location great staff and lovely rooms.

the facilities for the bar area are limited by current works. this was not obvious at booking until you dig a little deeper and get your confirmation email. although there was a smaller bar set up as an alternative.

The decor and cleanliness is superb. I like the feel of luxury in the foyer, restaurants, and walking areas. Our room last time was much more luxury than on this occcasion with a larger comfier bed. The food as on our previous stay was delicious and tastefully done. It feels posh staying here and we will definitely be back but would book larger than a standard double next time. I was offered a room upgrade and left it too late so it was not an option when we arrived, completely my fault. The location of the hotel is conveniently situated within asking distance of the water front attractions and is a 10 minute walk to Albert Dock and Tate.

This time the room seemed little less luxurious and more rushed when it was prepped. A slight staleness as if the room was saved for last minute or low budget clients. (Booking.com customers) The mattress was slanted at the foot and we both had a bad back for several days after.

The main area - reception/bar/dining room excellent and funky, did wonder on the past history looking up at giant fans and big expanse of brick walling. The decor in the bedroom certainly not tasteful, why all the dark grey walls and black oak furniture - in our climate? I don't care if it is 'on trend'. It made a very depressing atmosphere, and the inadequate lighting frustrating. There was a complete lack of any written information, asked for help to operate the T.V. the first night, it never came. I persevered and discovered ignoring the message about poor signal and turning on BBC 2 worked, however no menu to offer a selection. Please remember we older people are not tech savvy, guesswork is really frustrating!! Never really worked out the aircon/heat, (same problem in another hotel). Despite this I really enjoyed the hotel and the location which was in a quieter part of the docks, my room overlooked the Liver building and a partial view of the water. On arrival even found operating the lift a challenge, I've never had to use a room card to operate a lift, so someone had to help me out. Yes it all becomes easy - eventually, just find the learning process difficult. I opted out to not have my room serviced for the 3 nights, and was grateful for the free drink at the bar (price limited). This needs to be drawn to the attention of guests IN THE ROOM to give them the option of how often they want the room serviced with change of bedding and towels. Glad to have the use of a fridge and safe (note no instructions on safe, but digital signal helped) Oh you have to hold the door closed before you put in the code, hmm that's a first for me. Loved the bath and thought the bathroom furniture excellent quality, I'm sure people loved the black experience in the shower, which was very generous. Liked the good size desk, I'm sure very good for working at.

Lack of written information, wonder if I could have found the radio option on the T.V.?.....Didn't care for the room decor - very depressing, hence inadequate light to compensate. Also the chaise lounge?? hardly inviting and comforting, an item to dump things on.

The location from the Isle of Man ferry was great as was the proximity to the Cruise terminal, both being a just few minutes walk, even for my 85 year old mother who can't walk far or very fast. A huge selection to choose from at breakfast, plus all milk alternatives available. Very comfortable, great decor, good sized rooms and bathroom. Would definitely stay again.

We walked from the Isle of Man ferry terminal when it was dark (at around 8:30pm) so were weren't quite sure where the entrance was. The angle is so oblique approaching from the Crowne Plaza side that we could have done with a guiding light to indicate the entrance. We did, however, arrive in the midst of a huge thunderstorm so we may have just not seen it!

I'm so happy that I made the decision to book this hotel, a few bad reviews almost put me off booking, we really enjoyed our experience of the Malmaison Liverpool, very close to the Cruise terminal where everyone checks in, ten mins walk to be precise and just a 10/15 minute walk into the city centre and the st james street train station. The hotel is very stylish, lovely lighting in the restaurant for a romantic dinner and the music was really good creating a perfect atmosphere. The club room we stayed in had a very large deep bath tub so great for relaxing, also a separate walk in shower, the hand wash had a wonderful smell, we were more than happy to use them. The bed was really big and comfortable. The dinner was well presented with lots of flavour and the breakfast options were excellent even offering different milk options like oat milk and soya alongside regular dairy, cooked or continental breakfast options, we had both. So overall absolutely no complaints My tip is don't listen to any bad reviews just go and have your own experience and you will not be disappointed, will definitely stay at this hotel again, fantastic value for money, great service from everyone we came into contact with. Great hotel, staff were really friendly and helpful. Great location for the docks and the shops. Room was very nice but really warm at night so turn the thermostat down if you don't like it too warm. Bed was very comfortable as well.

There was a large mirror in the room but no plug nearby so couldn't use it while doing my hair with my straighteners which wasn't ideal. Breakfast was very expensive at £20 per person, although there were a lot of options. We did get a voucher for 2 free cocktails for ordering the breakfast but they were in a champagne flute glass so very small. Don't think it was worth the extra expense.

Ideal location. Walking distance to absolutely everything in the city! Wonderful car park located right next door at reasonable price. Easy to drive to and wonderful views out onto the Mersey. Very comfortable bed and lovely facilities with TV and a massive bath. Great room service menu and quality.

Walls in the toilet area weren’t cleaned properly. What looked like vomit on the wall… Booked a double room and had a twin room (2 single beds given) instead when we had paid for the larger room. Quite pricey with no breakfast. This was charged extra. Requested extra water and got charged for this through the bar…

Staff were very pleasant, friendly, helpful and accommodating. Was given an upgrade on arrival, overlooking the water. Our room was kept clean every day + given bottles of water in our room every day. Bed was very comfy. Tea and coffee made available daily.

The room had very poor lighting, even with all lights switched on it was still dark in both the living areas and the bathroom, this made getting ready, doing makeup, hair etc. very frustrating!

Best hotel I've stayed in by far. Bottles of water in the room, bathrobes and slippers along with free luxury toiletries. U literally didn't need a thing they supplied everything. The little things just really make a difference, and saves u having to buy them, especially in the current economic times, amazing value for money!! Ironing plus Tea/Coffee making facilities, coffee machine and fridge are an added bonus. I also loved the option of a free drink per person each night if u wished to opt out of having your room cleaned that day. (Of course, u could have it cleaned if u wish) It was a lovely way of showing the guests how much the hotel appreciated their support. Anything u needed or happened to run low on, which wasn't much as supplies were generous, reception would deliver straight to your door!! Make your own bed and relax with a drink 🍻🍸

Very comfortable room and lovely big bath and shower with nice toiletries, complimentary coffee, chocs and water. Having bath robes was also nice. Was happy with the sunday rate that I paid, dont think the room was worth more than what I'd paid so would probably stay elsewhere if the cost was higher.

I always find it annoying that hotel rooms dont have a dressing table with a mirror, good lighting, a shelf and a socket available. I had to contort myself around the bathroom door with the hotel hairdryer, then kneel on the floor with straighteners just about long enough to reach to the mirror , then uncomfortably lean over the bathroom basin to do my makeup as the lighting by the large mirror in the room wasnt adequate. Please think of your guests requirements and design rooms with this in mind.
